I've had Dan out to service my pump house 3 times now. Every time he's been a superhero. Very reasonable, super easy to work with and reasonably priced. I hope he never retires. This last time he came out after a bad freeze caused some bursting. He came out on a Saturday morning and rescued us. I'm so grateful. read more

Woke up yesterday morning to no running water. Well pump evidently failed overnight. Called several well pump repair companies in the Eugene area. American Pump & Spa said they had someone working in our area and could have him over in about 15 minutes. Dan showed up right on schedule, checked out the situation and said he needed one more man and some parts. They were back in about an hour and the whole job was complete by 1 PM. American Pump & Spa used top quality parts and the total cost was only 9% higher than the price for the same repair/replacement done by another local company in 2015. So, for quick response and quality work at a very fair price I highly recommend American Pump & Spa. They're my go to company for all future well related issues. Thanks Dan. read more

We did not have a positive experience with this company. We had a problem with our well pump power overloading, causing the filtration system and pump to shut down. We talked with Dan over the phone and he said it could either be because the well is drying out or the pump is going out. We scheduled Dan come out to take a look, do some diagnostics to get some answers. He came out and poked around the wires for a few minutes, looked at some of the equipment and said we had a power problem and that it most likely means our pump is going out. He told my wife, who was doing some of the communication with him, that our pump was the original when the house was built. He dug the well and placed the pump underground. He also informed us that our water level on record from 2007 was at a depth of 110, confirming the issue was not the water level. With that information we decided to scheduled him to come back and replace the pump. He came back a couple days later to have the well pump replaced. He took a second look at the power output levels and he said everything looks fine and the amps are within the normal ranges. He also checked the water level this time and said water level has not changed much. He concluded that we had nothing to worry about and that he would be fine if we canceled the pump change, which I did after he confirmed that the pump was only 5-6 years old (not a 15 year old pump, as he originally claimed). Everything seemed great until we got a bill for $105 two separate diagnostic charges for each of his visits. Sure, he did visit twice but he did not work through a complete diagnostic on our equipment as was expected in either visit. After explaining to him our problem he seemed to have a good idea and was very confident in his first visit that the problem was the pump. After his second visit he was equally as confident the pump was fine and we had nothing to worry about, and that he did not see a need for changing the pump. We asked why the power would overload, the amps drop for a few days, then return to normal. His response, "in my 30 years of professional experience I have no idea why this would have happened" and he left it at that. He was not interested in helping us get answers to why we had an issue with our pump. He was very unorganized and we didn't get any kind of diagnostic write up or information form either of his visits. We still have no answers and a $210 bill. Thank you for nothing American Pump & Spa read more

Had this company work on my pool pump because a friend said they were good...as I found...good at ripping me off. My pump was noisy and leaking, "Dan" worked on it, brought it back, it was still making some weird noise, he said not to worry, keep an eye on it and let him know. 45 days later, same noise and worse leak. Called him back up, his response was that I said there was something wrong with the motor, and that he had changed the seals and impeller. "Dan" said he could do it again for just parts and labor...what???? Anyway, the motor finally died, I took the pump apart, took pictures and witness statements to be sure, but the $85 seal kit, the $40 bearings x 2, looked like they had not been touched. The shaft seal was cracked, had silicone epoxy holding it in, impeller seal worn and used (again, I took pictures). He pretty much took advantage of the fact that the motor and pump would be sealed up, and I wouldn't be able to verify the lie he told me about the work. The primary reason it continued to leak was that water was getting into the motor from the seals he did not replace, but charged me for. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do next, but if you use this guy, you are as gullible as I was, AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more
