Today, I went to the shop because my radiator was leaking. I was worried that I might have to buy a new one, but luckily Mike was there to save the day. After performing a pressure test and inspecting all the hoses, he found out that a loose hose clamp was the culprit causing the leak. So I was in a bind. My wife's radiator went out on us, broken parts and all. The car was not drivable or the engine would probably overheat and be done for. Went in to get my axle changed for a good price got my car back and when I would accelerate it would start shaking they told me it was probably my tire because it had a bump made sense till I bought new tires I went back they told me it could me my transmission , so I went for a second opinion at chubbys up the street he assured me it's my axel . I went back told them he happily said he would change it again. (David) problem solved so I thought three days later the shaking started again. I let David know he said he it was a new part he put. So radiator is leaking big time. Wife really needs car... So I call dealer almost a grand for a new radiator installed. Chrysler wanted $365 for just the radiator. I check autozone to see how much for radiator maybe I'll do it myself -- $226 for part. I find the Radiator company on Yelp with the best reviews (even though it wasn't the closest) and talk to Mike and get a price -- for almost the price of the part I can get a brand new radiator installed. Heck yeah -- with their reviews -- no brainer! It's all about piece of mind. At least for me. Take it in and he did a meticulous job -- he showed us every nut bolt etc... let us inspect the old part and put in new anti freeze. I lost the air conditioning and developed a crack in my radiator coming through Mojave last weekend. I looked to find a shop that could handle both. I was very pleased with American Radiator. The person who helped me went outside and diagnosed the problems while I stood there, and gave me a very fair price. Then he offered to do the work while I waited, but, I had brought a ride back. He still got it done the same day within a couple of hours. When I came to pick up the vehicle, he showed me the old radiator, pointed out the crack, and offered to take it apart so I could see that the crack did indeed go all the way through, I declined but was impressed with the honesty. I bought a used car from Offer Up and made the mistake of not checking the diagnostics before purchase. Found out it had 7 error codes and couldn't pass the smog check. We had an Autozone worker check it out to give us a briefing and he said one of the error codes meant it was system disabled and that it looked like someone tampered with the car to get it to Illegally pass it's previous smog test and that we might need chp to verify this car and it just looked pretty bad. The car also made a weird clicking sound by the pedals otherwise you couldn't really tell anything was wrong. I called like 5 mechanics on Jan 2nd and this guy Mike was the ONLY one who took time to really listen to me and ask questions instead of just telling me to make an appointment like the other calls I made. He was very polite, Very knowledgeable, and didn't give me any run arounds. I dropped off my car in the morning and in just a couple hours he calls me back saying cars all good and he got the smog check passed and the had the results already sent to the dmv! I moved to Santa Clarita and happy to make the drive to honest and reasonable fix and maintenance. I've had a couple of issues which they don't do but still recommend me to places that do.
