I've used the Patuxent Imaging facility for quite a few years, even though it has been purchased & re-purchased by different healthcare companies. I've had pretty reliably good experiences as far as the imaging services & personnel. Two negative changes have been: (1) never-ending text & email reminders to complete check-in online even after having completed it all; & (2) scheduling appt's seems to go to a call center where sometimes the person I reach is knowledgeable & sometimes not. read more

Images take a very long time to be read from one of the 20-25 radiologist, that they supposedly have on staff. If you try to contact a manager, to get a clear answer as to when you might be able to get a read on the images, you cannot get a manager on the phone. I have also had reports and images sent to to the incorrect Physican more than once. read more

They cancelled my MRI appointment 5 days before my appointment without talking to me first. When I try to call back it goes to voice mail after a 5 min hold. This company is focused on maximum through put and profit, not the patient. I should have read the comments before; I would have traveled further to get a company focused on the patient instead of the bottom line. read more

What can AMERICAN RADIOLOGY IMPROVE? Having customer friendly staff at the front desk at all times, not rude people names JENNIFER! I sat and waited over 30 mint. Each person called to check in she was rude, dismissive and Impatient. She purposely skipped over my name on the list, I had to confront her on it and then she apologized. So far as going to pickup a xray, this place sucks. You have to signin and wait 10mins before they call your name. When they make you wait until they make a copy for you. Why can't I call a head for it and they have it ready. read more

I have been trying to get a copy of my CD mailed to me in Florida as I am there for 6 months. Everytime I thing I have it resolved, I get a phone call or email saying that I need to call. The absolute worst like all the health care in calvert county now. If you actually get thru on the phone, the people who answer do not know anything except mri and mamogram and if your doc orders anything else, they don't understand so they transfer you - and no one answers the transfer either. After I couldn't get a phone appointment, I actually went to the 2 locations in calvert county. They both told me to call for appointment!! then when I explained why that didn't work, I had to WAIT my turn just to make an appointment!! After over 20 minutes in each one waiting, I left. Go to Bowie, MedStar in clinton, anywhere but Calvert county. These people are useless. read more

I used to love this facility until I was turned away for my routine mammogram. The facility had the order ahead of time, I had a copy with me as well, all paperwork was filled out online prior to the appt. I was undressing when the tech told me they couldn't do it. I have had issues in the past due to my age but never questioned the validity of my doctor's order. She refused to do my routine mammogram and stated I would need to come back with a new order. I told her this was not possible for months due to their hours and my work schedule and that my order was correct and she would not help. I have never been more humiliated in my life. Drove to Annapolis where they gave me the best experience and were so kind. I have been to ARS for 12+ years and will never step foot back in that facility. read more

I and my fam have gone to AR for many years, always a good experience but today I had an over due mammogram and I'm guessing it was a tech. But she was pretty rude, very short, seemed irritated with me as I tried to answer her questions, she was irritated and rolled her eyes because I didn't exactly know how she wanted me to position myself for the scans. She seemed to be rushing me thru, I hope the images turn out ok. She kept asking me are you ok? As if something was wrong with me. .. I kept saying yes just tired. Never experienced this before. I had an MRI done today at the Prince Frederick location. I am a person who is claustrophobic and was fearful of this scan due to the fact my doctor had not sent my prescription for a sedative due to the fact they had an opening today instead of Tuesday so I took it. I called the receptionist who's name was Rebekah. I explained my concern and she told me not to worry that Benadryl might help me get thru this. When I arrived I told her that I had my Benadryl and when I should take it. She told me that she would let me know when to take it because there were a few people in front of me { I arrived 45 minutes early). Sure enough, she called my name out and told me to take them now and I did. Fifteen minutes later, Jared the MRI technician comes out and gets me. I tell him my fear and he tells me "Don't worry.. I will work with you" He explains that 50% of the people he had today were the same way. He went above and beyond in explaining how long it was going to take and gave me ear plugs and a face mask and the controller in my hand incase I started to panic. While I don't know who owns this operation, but I want them to know that it's people like Rebekah and Jared that is the epitome of there organization. It's these 2 individuals that helped me face my fear of this in the most professional and comforting way. I can't thank these people enough. It was a sleepless night!! I know most people will take the time to complain about most things, but this is a post to Rebekah and Jared who need recognition today for helping me. I appreciate both of you guys !!! read more

I waited over an hour for my mammogram. They had me sitting in a very cold waiting room in my gown, holding my things (bra, etc.). Men were coming and going in and out the door to the room next to me. I had a very crummy experience last year as well. I need to go back to my previous place where the tech is more sensitive, they give you a warm gown, have you wait in a private place, and don't make you hold all of your belongings in a public situation, and DON'T MAKE YOU WAIT AN HOUR!! read more

Was great and professional as RIA, now too big and questionable. The techs are kind and professional. Imaging done in August read wrong, stated probable cancer with possible spread Now 3 other radiologist at hospitals read same disc and did further imaging, no cancer at this time. Had another US done two days ago and results, although instant, still not available. This is stressful for patients. Again, too big of a company which makes accurate reading a thing of the past. Miss RIA and will now just go to larger hospital for best results. read more

Had to get a CT scan of my kidneys and bladder have issues with kidney stones. Walked in to see about an appointment and the lady said it would be at 1320 it was almost 1200 so I said sure I'll take it. I went out to the car and sat for an hour went back in and they took me back rite at my appointment time. All the workers were very friendly. read more

What a wonderful surprise! Who would say that about getting X-rays? It was though. Everyone was so very nice. It took no time even as a walk-in to have my imaging done. There Covid preparedness was exceptional. read more

This company has sat on an overpayment to them for over a month.  I have called 7 times or more and am told that it'll be escalated that I need to wait 10 to 15 more days that the careflex account won't take the refund back. I keep calling to try to verify the careflex account number or ask them to cut a check and I keep being told it's pending. I have since left my place of employment to change jobs and I am paying $50 a month to keep my careflex account open so American Radiology can refund the money and things will be square on this account before I close it. So it's costing me money every time they're sitting on their butts doing nothing. I have never been so angry with a company. Do not use these people, they are so incompetent. If you overpay them, good luck getting it back. I have asked to talk to a manager and now that's 24-48 more hours. They overcharged me at the time of the appointment for services, this should have been remedied immediately the 1st time I called, at least by the 2nd call. Not a call a week or more for 6 weeks! One customer service gentleman was super rude, and told me a check was issued, when it wasn't. Its clear the people that answer the phones have no ability to fix anything. All they can do is try to escalate or put a note. I'm guessing the account managers have the authority and they apparently really suck at their jobs. read more

My husband and I have been scheduling our imaging here for years. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, even on the busiest days. I love the patient portal and the ability to access images and reports quickly and easily for ourselves and physicians we see in SOMD and Annapolis. I can easily pick up a printed report as soon as it is ready if I need one urgently for an unanticipated appointment. read more

I have now had one sonogram and one CT scan at their Prince Frederick location. I am very impressed with the layout of the facility including the large front waiting room. They are obviously very busy, but all of their personal have remained extremely professional, friendly, helpful and know their jobs. read more

Started going here last year, since RIA across the street does not have a PET scan machine except in Waldorf. The staff is very good here, and when you call and make an appt, they are very pleasant, and give good instructions. Wait time is never very long, and the gent who does the PET scans is very good. The only recent complaint which has nothing to do with this particular facility, is the text system. It told me to be there at 8:30, which I did arrive at, only to find out I was supposed to arrive at 8am, so was actually late. read more

Wouldn't recommend. They discovered an issue, which resulted in a rescheduled appointment, and did not follow up with the doctor to correct before the rescheduled appointment, nor did they notify me that the issue hadn't been resolved, allowing me to show up for a second appointment they couldn't follow through with. read more
