New brush on bottom was added, in the process the company accidentally ripped the bottom screen mesh. The mesh has ripped further since...when asked to fix the damage the companies refuses even after we've offered to pay the cost of goods..effectively just waive their service fee. They take the position they didn't cause the damage even though it's quite clear...there were no visible rips or signs of damage prior to the replacement brush...immediately after the replacement and directly where the work was being done a rip appeared. Terrible customer service, would advise seeking an alternative screen provider. read more

Purchased a top quality electric patio screen from AS (phantom) in 2009 for $3000.00. After 13 years of flawless durability a careless landscaper cuts into screen. The landscaping company agrees to replace screen and purchased it from Phantom. Phantom replaced screen with a low, poor quality screen that begins to tear within months of installation. After complaining about tears and quality of screen the company sends out their "most experienced" BS salesmen who then tries to convince me that it's the same screen I had installed in 2009. My wife and I were offended by his arrogance in claiming to know what we had and lived with for 13 years but of course he insisted he knew better. We touched, handled, washed etc. our old screen for thirteen year, however he was the expert and our experience with the screen didn't matter. We had two dogs playing in the screened in patio for year, clawing at screen and never a single mark. "Mr professional" claimed that it might have been small animals chewing on screen. The screen has been there for thirteen years exposed to the environment, animals, storms etc. and never a scratch. all of a sudden a new screen goes in and within a few months it's falling apart. I believe phantom screen saw an opportunity where they could replace a once high quality screen with a lesser quality screen and profit from the savings. And blatantly lie about it. We purchased this screen at the Palm Beach home show at the Convention Center. It was the display product with a Heavy Duty Screen. The company repair man, a young black man inspected the screen and said " it's going to be expensive to replace it because of the screens thickness, I replied that our community landscape company was paying for it. This repair man knows what he saw and removed in comparison to what he replaced it with. I would like that young black man who inspected and replaced it come and see me. He knows the truth. The Landscaper paid for it but we are the customer. We never saw a copy of the work order or warranty for repairs etc. this was a shady transaction. They accept no responsibility for the Bait and switch. No willingness to make it right. All I can say it there must be a change in management where quality and integrity are no longer part of their values. I've been very patient with this issue till now but I'm ready to let the world know through all available social media outlets about your company and it's questionable representatives. I requested a quote from American Screens for both a patio screen and a French door, and Chris came to the house. He provided a quote for both, and I decided to go ahead and do the French door first, to see how well it went. After I sent them a credit card authorization for the French door, the liaison, Andrew told me the quote was not valid and someone else needed to give me another quote. The second quote was double the price of the first one, with no explication for why. Andrew did not explain. Megan, the first manager I emailed, was condescending and still did not explain. Jorge the Operations manager did explain, but he was rude and insulting, complaining to me about my complaining for that is "rude and negative energy." Do not do business with this company. As I mentioned in my email to them, hiking the price of an initial quote to double, with no explanation whatsoever seems like a scam. And it is their fault for not explaining clearly from the get go what their pricing policy is. Plus a company should honor the prices they quote or get better people to quote prices. read more

When they finally installed my screen it was lopsided and parts were sticking out, and now they are incapable and unwilling to fix it. We were also told that the old screen would be put on our other door for us, and when the guy came to install the new screens, he said they do not do anything except their own screens. I have to say that the motorized screen with remote control it works really well but is not easy to clean and I live in front of the water which doesn't get awfully dirty. About the manual ones, these are horrible. We were told that the retractable ones, would go back in place when you open and close again, not true, please see the pictures i posted. I love my new motorized screens. They are amazing. The staff at American Screen Solutions were helpful, accommodating, and easy to work with. They also did an awesome job cleaning up after the installation. That being said, I am very disappointed with the way this business is run. About 3 weeks after placing my order and while waiting the 6 weeks for the screens to be fabricated, the company itself emailed me a coupon for 10% off. Since this would be a huge savings, I called and was told "the owner" would not honor this coupon. No concrete explanation was provided and, even after multiple inquiries about this coupon, each time I was told the owner would not honor his own company's coupon. It's unfortunate a company would chose to practice in this manner, especially since it is fueled so much by word of mouth. It also makes no sense that a company would send you a coupon they won't allow you to use. Hopefully American Screen Solutions will reconsider these practices in the future. read more
