I sold the house in 2023 and still, the windows were in great condition. So, after downsizing to a fixer-upper, I naturally called Precision. I did get other quotes but again, went with Precision. This time it was 8 double-hung windows plus a huge 4 lite bow window. I can't say how pleased I am with the meticulous work Chris and his team did. The first windows delivered did not have the correct grid and Tony immediately ordered replacements to swap out. This was done in a timely manner and I was over the moon happy. The bow window installation looked difficult but these experienced guys got it done and it's absolutely beautiful! Some minor details had to be addressed regarding the bow window. Chris came out again and finished the inside with impeccable woodworking skills. He then showed me a gap on the outside of the house where the old window projected a bit more and said they'd come back to fill that and finish it off. 08/30/24 - Chris was back with help - the window gap was filled in and it looked as if it was always there. Perfection! He also replaced a screen that arrived with a small tear. Inside and out, the windows are perfect! The crew was friendly and respectful of my home. They left my property neat and clean. Weird but fine, if the text etiquette is on point. His was a mess. He asks me to take pictures inside and out, of the windows. Ok sure, but I'm one town over and you could just pop by. He asks what I want, I say picture windows. He sends me a picture of double hang and says he recommends them. Don't need them. Then he just TEXTS me a price range. Red flag. Where's your quote with the type of door being used? Also, the number is high. I ask for the SKU to look it up on my own. He sends me a generic link to an affiliate landing page for DOUBLE HUNG DOORS. Ok, so here's where you have to use your best judgement. These guys have great ratings on multiple pages, so they obviously do excellent installs. But that doesn't mean they aren't ripping people off, because you can get similar work done for MUCH cheaper. That's where I got him, bc he wasn't willing to disclose where his range was coming from and then immediately tried to pass me off to Renweal by Anderson, which is widely known as THE biggest price-hike in the game. The safe bet with them is whatever they quote you initially is about double what it should actually cost. So it makes sense the owner thought it's a reasonable peer in the industry. Then he weirdly started text-harassing me when I passed on his offer. Piss off.

Heavy rains again last night and the roof and chimney flashing from watertite roof leaked again…read more When it was installed and I complained it still leaked, they came back and put caulking under the flashing without even stopping to talk. Later told me it was my chimney that was leaking but I had that repaired and it's dry as a whistle. They don't stand by their work. They at least installed a rubber roof correctly.

Rogers Insulation was the company selected by Mass Save following a home energy report. Our…read moreexperience was mixed, with the office and some of the workers really seeming top notch. The negative we had was the project leader for the day of work seemed to have cut corners in several places. It started with not all of the work being done that was on the invoice. The office believed me and sent out a worker to check and they validated the work was not done that was in the invoice. When Mass Save came to inspect the work, they also found the light covers were not installed correctly. All and all, it required 4 visits to complete the work for a variety of reasons.

When the work was completed, our Building Inspector flagged the work for an insufficient amount of blown-in insulation. Months passed. When Rogers came back for the re-do, they didn't bring enough tubing to reach the attic opening, so they had to go back to Framingham to get more. This despite the fact that the company had already done work here previously, and should have known how much tubing was needed. In the end, the job was done correctly, per the Building Inspector, but the process required more of my time and attention than it should have, with appointments and phone calls. Also without the Building Inspection, we would not have know that insufficient insulation had been installed.

During the first winter, we couldn't keep the house warm enough. Cold air was seeping into every room. Our heating cost was very high. So we decided to replace the windows before the next winter. A friend recommended AAA Royal Window. I called and spoke to John Boyd. He came to our home, made an evaluation and recommended that all windows be replaced and insulated. I was concerned about losing the wood tone windows to white vinyl clad windows, but John recommended double pane, tilt-in windows with wood tone application. They looked just like the real wood tone windows that we were replacing. He said they could do the entire job in one day. It sounded impossible, but we agreed and signed the contract. The AAA Royal crew arrived on the scheduled day at 7:00 a.m. They removed all of the old windows and storm windows, insulated the frames and installed the new windows. They removed all of the old windows and packaging and cleaned up both inside and outside. At the end of the day, you wouldn't even know that they had been here. I was so impressed. But it got better. During the next winter, and every winter since, our heating costs have dropped significantly. Every room stays warm. No more cold air creeping in. I have been so pleased. This year, five years after the windows were installed, my son broke the hardware on one of the tilt in windows. I called John Boyd and he offered to mail me the replacement parts and walk me through the simple repair. I was concerned that I would mess it up, so John came to our home in Medford and did the five minute repair job himself. It doesn't get much better than that.
