We rented a bus to shuttle wedding guests between hotels in Westlake Village & wedding venue in Malibu mountains. The bus was 45 min late picking up the wedding party (driver said she got lost) and subsequently our photographer did not have time to do all the photos that were planned. Also, the shuttle pick-up at the venue scheduled for 9:30 pm never happened. When I called my contact, Andie, to politely express my dismay at what had happened, she first asked if we had gone overtime (we did not), and then told me that she would speak to the driver & get back to me. It's been 2 weeks & I haven't heard a word. I will never use this company again. read more

Dennis Justice @ ATS is da man! This is the 3rd year I've used them for our annual charity walk. 90% of our business was done via e-mail because of my crazy schedule. That is important to know when so many other charter companies have an internet presence, but once you interface with them they ask you to constantly "call" them and then don't answer e-mails. Dennis was always on top of it. Happy to talk if you'd like, but just as comfortable answering the minutia via e-mail. GREAT PRICES & GREAT SERVICE. One thing that stuck out was the 1st year I contacted a number of companies to help with bus charters & decided on 1 company that was not ATS, I sent out an e-mail to those I had not chosen as a courtesy. To be short and sweet. Beware! I was arranging an itinerary and before things were finalized they already sent me an invoice to pay. Not getting the bus I wanted, I told them that I would not be using their company. So without signature or agreement, they said I was already committed and they billed me for 1/2 the cost (more than $1000) for the trip and tried behind my back to send the bill demanding payment to my accounting department. The strange thing is that even according to their own contract that they sent me it states that the contract can be cancelled without penalty a week before the trip which it was. I am going with a different more transparently honest company. read more

I used the American Transportation Systems party busy this weekend for my birthday, to charter about 25 of my friends from Venice to Malibu Wines and back. The company was referred to me from my friend who used them for her bachelorette party - after telling her that I had been researching a bunch of companies and was concerned about other company's prices and also reliability. Setting up the bus was great and smooth. Their prices are the most reasonable around and the few people I spoke with to set up the bus were on top of it, and talking with them made me even more excited for the event than I was already. The day of the charter, the bus showed up about 15 minutes early, which is awesome because I am an OCD Production Freak and things like that really make me happy. The bus is clean and awesome - and it is huge! It is a 38 person old-school bus and is one of the few party buses I have found that doesn't feel like you are in a skeezy Vegas night club. Also, once we got to the winery, the bus stayed right there so that we could leave whenever we wanted to (which of course wasn't until the winery closed). I had so much fun on the ride that that is really all I have to say about the trip. We were able to play some good music and enjoy the hour long trip back and forth - I wish I could take the bus everywhere I go! read more

We had a bad experience with one of our drivers with AM Trans. The first day of our wedding, we had the shuttles bring our guests and then take them back and that went smoothly. The 2nd day, one of the drivers was fine, but the 2nd driver was absolutely awful - he refused to listen to the Father of the Bride and take the guests to the correct spot. He was under the assumption that he only had to provide for drop off at one hotel instead of both and didn't make one of the drop offs at all. Overall, okay, but we did have a bad seed in our experience. read more

If I can give this company more stars, I would. I used this company for a family trip from fountain Valley to San Diego. Zorayda was great on the phone. She was very helpful on booking this trip. The driver David was great. He was funny and accommodating to our needs. The bus was a bit older but we were informed of the year of make in advance. They were very reasonable when it came to price. Thankful to AmTrans for serving us this weekend! Andie and Dennis were very responsive and the price was good. It was very assuring to receive confirmation calls the day prior and the day of. Not all companies do that. The bus was nice and clean, although it lacked a compartment. The driver was punctual and polite. He even offered to play a movie for us on our way home! We use American Transportation for field trips all over Los Angeles for the Young At Heart at Brentwood Presbyterian Church and have been very satisfied with their service. The buses are clean even if they are not very new, and the drivers come prepared to navigate the route. Our last driver Caesar was a pro, even without cell service in the area to call him up to the loading area, he appeared just as planned. EMX UPDATE: **DO NOT USE** AMERICAN TRANSPORTATION (Long Beach) They are a bus company that we used to transport our clients to the yacht party. They charged my credit card without consulting me first stating that our group puked in their bus. The owner DAN then states he is 100% positive it was definitely our group, and sends pics of vomit stamped with my name on bus #63. Then I talk to the driver of the bus from the night of our party and he states that there was definitely no puke, and the bus we took was #64. Rather then apologizing for his mistake, Dan - the owner, states that Charles is lying and took the wrong bus. Then he threatens that if we post a bad Yelp review that he will charge my credit card $75. Lol... We rented two busses for a party for my daughter. The busses were chartered to go from LA to Long Beach and back again. I was very very pleased with this company and will definitely use them again. ATS did an outstanding job for providing shuttle service from my hotel to the wedding venue. They were communicative and professional. On the day of my wedding which was Saturday, the shuttle driver parked a block away from the hotel and my guests could not locate the shuttle. I called ATS and there was someone on the other end to receive my call. They gave me the dispatcher's number so I can get into contact with him in order to park in front of the hotel so that guests could see him. The ATS team is truly the best. My son had a Birthday party this past weekend and we decided last minute that we needed a bus. Called all over and no one would even respond. From the first call I made to ATS they were immediatly on it. They were friendly, courteous and professional. I talked to Dennis and Zoryda and everything was taken care of with little effort on my part. They really came thru for me even though it was last minute. They even agreed to send the bus without getting my deposit first since there was not enough time to mail a check. The driver, Leerenda, arrived an hour early with the exact bus I requested and waited patiently to take everyone to their destination. Excellent service from initial contact to the end of the party. And BTW, their prices were less than all the other companies I checked with. read more

I've been waiting for 4.5 hours with a group of ~20 students for this company's bus to show up. They first said the bus they were planning on sending us broke down, and that they had to check it to see if they could repair it and send it to us. Around 1.5 hours later we hear that the company decided to send us a different bus, but that bus was 1.5 hours away. We wait 1.5 hours and then another 1.5 hours just to finally get contacted back by the company (after multiple attempts to reach them) to hear back that the bus isn't coming, but that there'd be one waiting for us in 2-3 more hours. All in all, if this new bus actually shows up, I will have waited 7 hours for it to arrive. Considering the lack of communication from the company and the hassle this has caused both in just waiting outside for multiple hours getting sweaty and sunburnt and in shifting our schedule for this trip so drastically, I cannot recommend anyone else use this company's services. read more
