When visiting Huntington Beach you must make a stop at this cute little shop! They have an abundance of vintage clothing, jackets, shoes and hats. I couldn't resist and bought another cowboy hat. The service was super helpful and friendly. I would definitely say you're getting a value for your money too because everything is so unique. read more

Thomas is very helpful and he seems to enjoy his job a lot. He loves his job here! It's such a cool store at fashion Island in Newport Beach. It is a French company with a new take on vintage inspired clothing. They have 600 custom colors so shop away and ask for Thomas. Every two weeks they changed the entire floor so I'm going to come back and take new pictures. read more

Honestly this is my favorite thrift store but the amount of times I've come here during their public working hours to find the doors locked is disappointing. They sometimes put up a sign that says "be back soon" but I waited an hour and a half once for them to reopen so it wasn't "soon". This happened twice and today I came at 3:00 pm to find the doors locked and no sign. Are they open? Not a clue. Makes me not want to try coming in if they will be closed every time. read more

As with most thrift stores, American Vintage doesn't have much of a selection for men. If you're coming for women's clothing, you'll have a great time, as there's a wide array of clothing across many vintage and contemporary styles to choose from. This place doesn't suffer from any poor music choice or funky smells, so it's a winner for me, aside from the shallow men's variety and inventory. read more

My husband and I had a very weird experience at this store. While I was shopping there, my husband went down the street to buy new coffee mug, which he decided to have filled with coffee. On his way back to our car, he stopped into the store to tell me he was done shopping. He was not touching anything, and he was not drinking his coffee, only holding it, and it had a closed lid. The woman working there appeared immediately. She said, "Excuse me," with a dramatic look and loud voice. My husband politely said, "Would you like me to take the cup outside?" Then, instead of her simply saying,"Yes, thank you," and then leaving us alone to walk out, she kept weirdly following us and talking about it. She even started yelling at us as we were walking out the door and kept yelling at us as we walked away down the sidewalk. That was so unprofessional and really, really weird. read more

The prices are too high for clothing that really isn't vintage (of age). Items should be at least 40 years old. The store opens at 11:00. It was 11:05 when I opened the door to hear a voice tell me the store isn't opened yet. The girl proceeded to open up the shop by putting out a sign, fully opening one door to just walk back in. The lights got turned on and then walked out to lean against the store to smoke her vape!!!! Not at any point said we are open now, you can go inside. I had to ask!! So like many reviews this place is never open when it's supposed to be, I am currently outside the store with 4 other people waiting for it to open. The sign says 11 as well as google and not a soul in site. When will management actually get involved and open when the hours are supposed to be? Love this store! I love coming in here and just browsing the cool looks that they have. I recently bought this sick tie-dye Harvard sweater from here. It cost $25. The salesperson told me I could get 50% off of the most elegant retro cashmere sweater and supercharged spandex fur leopard jean jacket. Wow! The selection in American Vintage includes a wide variety of classic cashmere and unique items you just won't find anywhere else... Ok, I was caught off guard by this store. It was AMAZING. The jeans and shorts were gorgeous styles. They had mini skirts that had bands on them, and I work at a rock n roll place back at home, so an outfit like that would kill. I didn't buy anything because I blew all my money the day before at Fashion Island. It isn't a cheap store at all, but you have to expect that from a vintage store smack dab in the middle of Main St. Also, most of their jeans and shorts are Levi's, which are already expensive so understandable. Next time, I'm here I'm going back and buying a pair or two of jeans. Cutest ones with flames going up the pants or chains or unique holes! My friend got a pair of Levi jeans with shorts and her total was 78 dollars. Super high waisted (which we love) and good quality (you can tell from far away) JUST REMEMBER: sizes run small, so go up one size! read more

I have very mixed feeling about this store. I love so many of the vintage and manufactured to look vintage items here. Items that leave me torn: Product. I love Vintage, but It is so hard for me to pay these prices for used clothing, yes I know vintage clothing in theory is the fine antiques of clothing but some of the items I have run across are amazing and others are laugh worthy and totally craptastic and expensive. Nobody is forcing me to buy some of the uglier items like the airbrushed image of Maxi Priest on a denim jacket - yes they have that. At the same time I have found some super cute shirts and beautiful vintage dresses. Organized - it seems that the items are organized by type and color, but sizes are all mixed together. it is very disappointing to see the perfect colored Pendleton only to discover that it is either for XXXL male or a 12 year old child. This is a lesson I learned Christmas shopping with my daughter for her BF. Customer service, um there really isn't any. You might get acknowledged when you enter but probably not. oh and there is a NO return policy. No exceptions. Case in point, I purchased my daughter a super cute blouse. we left the store and 1/2 hour later she decided she really didn't like it that much and wanted to return it for something else. We called the location right back and they basically told us too bad nothing they could do. I will continue to shop there on occasion to help feel my daughters need for vintage. read more
