First time last night. I think I've been to every Italian place in the Valley. Overall, I wasn't thrilled. I didn't care for the sauce; it wasn't sweet like my mother and grandmother made. This place was good. My friends and I had an evening reservation on a Saturday. It didn't seem super busy, but the dining room is on the smaller side, so I would probably recommend a reservation. The ambiance was intimate and cozy. They also offer a table side cheese wheel experience. I had picked out what I wanted to order before arriving, but was disappointed when I learned that the menu I had looked at was not the most current one. So I decided to order the Roasted Beet Salad and Fettuccine alla Bolognese. Both items were good and flavorful. We were given bread to eat with our entrees which was also good. Beautiful ambiance in this small restaurant that I was not expecting in a shopping center. We made a reservation on a Tuesday evening for the last meal of my best friend's bachelorette weekend. It was not busy at all, just us and another table. Our waitress was very nice and took the time to explain happy hour and shared the daily special with us. I got the Caesar salad and the chicken Parmesan. The Caesar dressing was perfectly creamy and a generous portion size (as it should be for the cost). The chicken Parmesan was delicious. I loved the homemade noodles and the Alfredo sauce. The marinara with the chicken was perfect. Great portion too. Our table was wondering how an Italian restaurant didn't serve bread for dinner. They brought the bread out for the meal. The girls ate the bread up and wanted more, and the server informed us that it was a $2 fee to have more bread. The first serving of bread came out by itself, my friend asked for butter. The second serving of bread with the up charge came out with a small ramekin of oil and vinegar. It was weird that it didn't come out consistently, and the number of pieces of bread was different with each portion. Nice restaurant for some fresh pasta! My friends and I had a reservation for Saturday night and it wasn't too busy inside. It feels very classy inside. I ordered the jumbo shrimp linguine and the waitress warned me it came with the shrimp heads. I didn't realize what that entailed though so I was a bit grossed out by the shrimp, but that's on me. I just don't see why anyone would want the shrimp heads and tails left on and I would much prefer the chef remove them so I don't have to do that. What a great little gem in Ahwatukee. I could drive by 50 times and not see it tucked in the corner. I actually saw a reel on Instagram where someone was sharing their experience there and was like that's in Ahwatukee ?? The inside is very cute. I went with a friend but it could easily be a date night spot. Very clean. Decorated very nice. The server and host were friendly and welcoming. Me and my friend both had to try the cheese bowl pasta. My friend is gluten free and they were able to make hers with gluten free pasta. Mine was delicious. I will absolutely be back. Came for my sisters birthday as the one request was the table side pasta in a cheese wheel. From my searching there's only a few in town and this was the closest to us westsiders. Made a reservation and upon arrival we were promptly seated as the rest of our party wondered in over the next 20ish minutes. This place is surprisingly nicer than anticipated and yet almost everyone inside except for us was dressed like it was a corner deli shop. We slow ordered some drinks when the first group showed them appetizers when the second group arrived. Drinks arrived and were very strong and one was incorrectly made but promptly corrected. Appetizers arrived and we all enjoyed those and we placed our dinner order. Didn't seem like the food took terribly long however the 4pasta dishes and one rice dish came and we waited a bit for the steak which being cooked medium rare was a bit of a surprise. However all the food was warm and all said their food was very good. We brought a cake to sing at the end and they offered when we got there to place in the fridge which was so kind and our waitress was so sweet that she tried to be secretive about bringing the cake as to not want to ruin any surprises. The small bad was having to constantly ask for our waters to be refilled. They drop off larger water jugs and with seven of us maybe we drink more than most but it was a constant request to get more water the entire night. read more

Another fabulous meal!!! Chef Chavez once again raised the bar in Arizona for a pasta dinner. I had the risotto. Perfect balance of creaminess and cheese. I am surprised with the small location they did a Good job with placement of seating tables for it be roomy and have a nice ambience to their tables. So good! We came for my birthday last week because i was craving good pasta and this hit the spot! We came at around 530, and we were the only people in there which (not gonna lie) made me a little nervous but I trusted the previous reviews I saw! All the food was hot and so fresh, it was delicious. Great drinks on the happy hour menu and they were worth it! My husband is not a big pasta eater, but he loves his seafood dish. The service was attentive, a little less so once it got busy around 7 but that was understandable. The toffee pudding for dessert, even though I dont have a photo, was delicious as well. The only thing I would change would be the booth seating. Those sliding pads can be a bit uncomfortable when seated for a while. Service was friendly and fast, but we were there in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, when it was not busy at all. Acqua di Mare in Chandler also offers a tableside pasta prepared in a wheel of cheese, and although their option provides a more thorough experience, it is also pricier than the one at American Way Pasta. Food: menu was mostly centered around pasta with the revised special being Cacio e Pepe. Checked on us a number of times. They have chicken parm now! This also might be the best chicken parm in the Phoenix area. I got mine with Alfredo sauce and it's also possibly the best Alfredo I've had in the area. Really impressed tonight. My only complaint is that they should rid of the canned soda. Get a fountain. Our first visit on Friday, June 27, was memorable in the best way and will be just the first of many. We dropped in without a reservation and were seated promptly. The decor is refined and calm, and the service and food outstanding. Our appetizers were plated nicely and delicious, with just-right tempura-like coating on the shrimp and calamari and classic wafer-thin disks carpaccio. Mains are delivered on a small cart, a nice touch, and hit just the right note of abundant flavor and reasonable portion size. Looking at pictures posted on Yelp of wide pasta (Tagliatelle?) in brothy sauce and labeled "cacio e pepe" I wasn't sure what to expect, but ordered anyway. What arrived was the proper thin shape (Tonnarelli?), finished in a wheel of Romano, to which I added a side of chopped bacon. Yum, yum, yum. The food here is as good as anything in Scottsdale; it's just the kind of classy place that Ahwatukee is so short on. To illustrate their attention to detail, see how they treat a wine bottle cork: it's saved on a small dish so you can see the label, and ready to re-cork an unfinished bottle to take home if needed. Wow! Only open for 5 weeks and we were blown away. The restaurant is on the smaller side and does not take reservations. Expect a wait at dinner if you don't arrive right around 5pm. The decor is an Italian feel and not too over the top. The acoustics are ok, can hold a conversation well. We had 6 in our party and we all ordered a different cocktail and a different pasta meal. We started with the bruschetta and they were nice enough to cut the 3 pieces it came with into 6 half pieces and it was displayed very nicely! The drinks were on the generous side and were very tasty! The pasta is made fresh daily in house! Our party ordered the fettuccine bolognese, the smoked salmon linguini, the seafood linguini, the cacio e Pepe, the porcini mushroom risotto and the rigatoni chicken. The cacio e Pepe is prepared table side in a cheese wheel! All of them were DELICIOUS. The portions are very large ~ definitely enough for one and maybe even leftovers if you have an appetizer beforehand or share a salad also. We did indulge in dessert as well. As a new small business to the area, I had a great experience and it was reasonably priced. The decor is trendy, quaint and spacious. They accept Apple Pay at the bar too! We were a group of 10 and possibly a good trial run for their staff. The table ordered- Calamari and shrimp to start - dipping sauce was unexpectedly spicy and oh so good! Then chicken rigatoni with a light creamy mushroom sauce Smoked salmon pasta served with a flavorful lemon sauce, Seafood linguini w/red sauce so good my husband didn't share, & a few bolognese plates.
