Go to the designated counters, place your orders, order a drink at The Watering Hole bar, and have a seat. After a few sips, go around and gather your orders, and either dine in or take out. I ended up ordering a Mother Earth Cali Creamin', a tasty vanilla cream ale, at The Watering Hole as my beverage. I also ordered a dozen farm-raised Cotuit Atlantic Oysters with a pepperoni pizza. I had intended to dine in but realized I required way too much to enjoy my oysters there. Where's the lemon? Where's the Tabasco? Ah yes, home sweet home. Thanks to friends that insisted we come here to eat, we finally did! This is the restaurant inside of Whole Foods. It is MORE than just a deli. They have legit pub food. But so much more. You can get healthy food, sandwiches, it's adjacent to the self serve food section of the grocery store, so you can shop there and eat it here. They have a great assortment of beers, wines, kombuchas, drafts. You name it. The Buffalo cauliflower was amazing. I know there are plenty turning their noses up, but you must try it first. Perfect place for a Friday night when they have oyster specials. Service is a hit or miss.

This spot is conveniently located inside of Whole Foods Chandler so the ambiance is that of a grocery store. They have a really good selection of craft beers on tap and wine. I personally don't love the food here. I will say if you like fish and chips they have a good deal on Fridays were you can get this entree and a beer for less than $15 and it it is pretty tasty. The bartenders are very friendly and personable which is always nice. I recommend this place to grab a drink. read more

Who would have thought? A bar inside a Whole Food Grocery Store. Thought the invite for a meet was a mistake. Nope, it wasn't, there is a bar at Whole Foods off of the 101 and Ray Road. It primarily has a large selection or different beer and wine. No N/A selections and the only soft drink is root beer which was pretty tasty. Would ya look at all those Vegan options on their menu?! Fan freaking tastic! Who woulda thunk that a little mini restaurant inside a grocery store would be the most vegan friendly restaurant in Chandler...not this guy! So here is the scoop. Whole Foods can make pretty much any pizza on their menu vegan. That being said, I'm pretty much doomed because what's better than pizza? Vegan pizza? And what's better than vegan pizza? Specialty vegan pizza...which means the waistline on my pants is going to be sounding some alarms. Anyway, I walked in and ordered a pizza and they told me 15-20 min. While I was waiting I decided to check out the Watering Hole. Amazon recently bought Whole Foods and made some renovations and I finally decided to check it out. I ordered a blueberry sour and a pomegranate sour, both of which were tasty! This place is awesome. They have a bunch of different beers on tap and two huge TVs to watch whatever sporting event is on TV. They also still sell the beer casks so you can get your favorite IPA or whatever tickles your fancy to go in a huge 32oz jug. Who wouldn't want that?! The Watering Hole also features plenty of seating so you can eat your lunch or order an item from their awesome menu and eat it at a table. I come here specifically for their kale chicken Caesar salad, so good!! Lately they've been out of the Kale but they're still nice enough to make it with Romaine lettuce leaves for me, every time I ask they always say let me ask the cook and see if she'll still do it for you that way. GOD BLESS her every time, she always agrees to do it for me which I appreciate. There's limited on what I can eat on the menu and I love this salad, the portions are big, lots of protein and greens. So just made it up to the WH to see it's Brand Spanking New Remodel! And I have to say it is impressive. Much more seating at the bar area, with way more comfortable stools. Additional seating all over the place at the tables where eating yummy food prepared by the new kitchen area is highly encouraged. There's also an elevated seating area, right next to the new pinball machines. Yep they have classic pinball at the WH now!! The Beer Selection is very well thought out, and offers some rarities that are hard to find at your average bar! Flights are available so you don't have to commit to any one beer, you can mix and match and try a nice variety of offerings. Service was quick and efficient, and the BT knew the beers he was serving which for me is a huge selling point at any beer bar or brewpub. If you can't tell me about the beers you are serving, that's a big negative in my book. That was not the case here. We come here quite often for happy hour food because the regular prices are just like any other restaurant for full size meals, around $12 a piece. Two full meals at happy hour cost about $12. The place is usually pretty hoppin' and the staff is always nice. Good portion sizes too. We usually order the cauliflower nachos and a pub burger with fries. read more

There was a time when this town didn't seem to know beer existed. Moving from Portland, OR it was like waking up on the set of the Twilight Zone. I could hear Ron Serling somewhere in a dark corner - 'Submitted for your approval- a town bereft of beer. A soulless way station besieged by those seeking refuge from the cost of CA, or the cold of Canada'. Then King James arrived with The Watering Hole. SBJ! (Sweet Baby Jesus). Use to hate WF's, now it's a house of worship. In the summer I can sit and sip serious righteous suds & sours as I ponder why people are wearing sweaters in this place when it's 110 degrees outside. I was pretty disappointed tonight when my wife and I went and ordered our food, sat down for 20 minutes and then for them to grab our number and say that they ran out of food and to come back to the front to get something else. After waiting back in line to determine what to get, it was frustrating so we got a full refund. Terrible service!! Came in on a Friday evening to grab a quick beer at the bar. Sat down at the bar because it was empty. Bartender didn't acknowledge us although he made eye contact. Regardless we gave him benefit of a doubt and waited. A few patrons came in after us he served them right away. Then proceeded to close out a tab of a customer next to us. Never once did he mention that he'd be right with us. He continued to serve every other patron. After the line cleared he then decided to leave the front of the bar to tap a keg. After 10 minutes of waiting we left. I'm pretty patient when it comes to wait staff but this was blatant poor customer service. Came here on a Saturday night and got a little goblet thingy of Gulden Draak. It's weird sitting and drinking at a bar that's in the middle of a supermarket. Convenient, sure. But maybe since I am not used to the idea it feels weird. Sorta like getting a tattoo in the middle of Basha's or a lapdance in the middle of Safeway or playing slot machines in the middle of Albertsons or lighting up a fatty in the middle of Fry's. Wait - that last one doesn't sound that far off but I think the employees usually do that by the dumpsters where they can't be seen. So - weird atmosphere for a bar but very good selection of beers. I sat at the table but really, there seemed to be no "service" so I got the beer from the bartender and paid for it right at the bar. Friends all brought food and drink to the table that they bought in the store so it seemed more like we were having a picnic within the supermarket at a bunch of tables set up near the bar. This might be a good place to sample some beer or wine but definitely not a place to hang out and tie one on and linger. You probably won't ever see a barfight here and there's no darts, pool, shuffleboard, jukebox, trivia, karaoke, jenga or any other bar activities and games. So nice concept but I won't really be hanging out here for longer than it takes to drink one beer. read more
