Best place to get somewhat Mexican food in the Morgan Park area. It always seems to have big crowds especially on the weekends. Americanos is known for having some authentic flavors. Maybe not too authentic but still pretty okay. They have a bar area as well as tables. A lot of fairly authentic ethnic restaurants around here. It's for sure not the most such of these, but it holds up okay. There's a lot of the patrons who are of the culture, as well as others who just want margaritas and tacos. Also looks like a great place for a fiesta. There's often some kind of banquet going on. It's about $10 for a margarita. We got a couple of these. I had the Classic Margarita, which is the original lime one. Refreshing. Food is limited for vegetarian choices. It's about $11 for the House Salad. Basic vegetables are on it. Has an arbol lime vinaigrette, which adds spice. She got the Taco Salad which has cheese and jalapeño crema among other things. Most of the rest of the menu is meaty. There's classics like tortas and that kind of stuff. For sure it's one of the reasons to come to this area. It's not the nicest looking but it's still mostly okay. As you walk in we were able to sit ourselves. Sat at a booth and was definitely enough room for us. I like the booths with optional seats. Except the booths do not have cushions, especially for your back. Service was quick. It seems to be family owned. It was 3 of us and they have a special for $30. It comes with 6 tacos, rice, and beans. I definitely recommend if you want to try different tacos for cheaper. I really enjoyed the chorizo taco. My cousin said the elote poblano taco was amazingly good. The steak was tender just needed a bit more season. The chicken taco has good flavor and per the other guest al pastor was tasty as well. What a cute and unexpected surprise. The reviews of this place is polarizing but in my experience the food was good and the portions were great. The drinks I thought were delish and they had some original flavors, which leads me to believe that the mixologist really has fun. I met my cousins here, it was a group of 6 of us and we had lots of fun. I didn't take pictures of my food because I inhaled it. I would say, the food is traditional with an american twist. I heard the restaurant has a back story where it's veteran owned, I would ask about it because I wasn't sure if I remembered it well but I remember thinking it was cool to support veteran owned businesses. My bestie and I came here for lunch Thursday afternoon, not too many people (but it was also 2pm) atmosphere was warming, awesome decor, they had football on tv, music was decent, waitress/bartender was AWESOME (shoutout Marisol) she took our order pretty quick, was friendly and welcoming. What a hidden gem! The best flautas on the southwest side--Rolled up corn tortillas with your choice of potatoes or chicken tinga, lettuce, tomato, red onion, queso fresco, avocado salsa, jalapeño crema, and cilantro. My personal favorite dish is the Queso Fundido, and as the restaurant makes clear "(Not Queso Dip)" -- Melted Chihuahua cheese, choice of corn or flour tortillas served plain, a la mexicana style served with Chorizo is my preference with flour or corn tortillas. Deliciousl!!! A modern though small restaurant with a large TV makes it a nice neighborhood spot --tons of outdoor seating-- it's a really nice place. Saturday night and the restaurant was less than half full. That should have been our first warning. They were out of two of the things we ordered but we were only told after the fact; the waiter wasn't knowledgeable of what was available on the menu. Then they brought half our table's food about 20 minutes before the rest. The worst part was when the waiter was rude to my son. My son, who is 7 years old and has special needs, was getting out of the booth to let his cousin out so he could go to the bathroom and suddenly the waiter came up to drop off the second half of food. I'm not sure why the waiter didn't go to the other side of the table where everyone was sitting rather than the side where three people were getting up, but my son accidentally bumped into the waiter. The waiter rudely said "don't touch me!". I stood up to move my son away from him and then helped the waiter distribute the plates. The waiter said he could do it but that was seemingly not true because not only was he rude but he tried to give us plates of food we already had received 20 minutes earlier. Have tried this place a few times, once in the restaurant, but mostly carry out. If you eat in the restaurant, things go rarely well. The food is good and so are the cocktails. However, it would be nice if they had frozen margaritas in addition to the regular ones. It's the carry out that really needs improvement. You can't call in your order to verbalize that you want items not on your taco and add extras. Any changes you want to make you have to make on their ordering online app. This really needs work. First there's nowhere to tell them you want items not added or if you want slices of avocado added and not guacamole. If you don't want any sauce on the tacos and they feature a sauce, the put it on the tacos anyway. I ordered last night shrimp tacos and they added it and ruined them. If they miss anything on the order and you try to call them to let them know. The phone rings off the hook and no one answers. I ordered chips and guacamole on one of my orders and they didn't include it and I ended up getting nothing and no credit towards my next order. I would like to give them more business since I live so close, but that is not going to happen when they do business like this. If I could give them a zero, I would. The restaurant is small and tightly compact with lots of seating. There is a large bar, and it's nicely decorated. The lighting is dim. The bathrooms were clean and modern. There is a small parking lot on the side of the building and street parking. There were about 10 patrons in the restaurant at 8 pm, so it wasn't crowded at all. We seated ourselves because no one greeted us at the door. A waitress came over after 15 minutes. She was very friendly and took our order. The salsa and chips were complimentary, and it took a long time for them to deliver them to the table. The chips and salsa were mediocre. The salsa was chunky and dark like the kind that comes in a jar. The chips were burnt tasting to me. I ordered Fries, Chicken Tacos, and Nachos. The chicken tacos were great, but they are small. The toppings paired well together and they were very tasty. The Nachos that I ordered were chicken, and I would order these again! It was a large serving. Overall, I did like this restaurant. My partner and I came here for dinner tonight, it's a Wednesday night, and it's pretty busy. We seated ourselves per the signage at the door, and our server came by shortly after with paper menus, silverware, napkins and plates. He proceeded to bring us water as well while we browse through the menu. I ordered their Americanos Mule with Tito's vodka, and my partner ordered a can of Tecate. We initially asked for a can of Guinness because the menu says it, but apparently they don't even carry it according to our server so that's basically false advertising. We started with an order of chips & salsa which I love their salsa and the chips were crispy. We had to remind our server to bring it to our table. My partner and I did a tray of 6 tacos and ordered 2 more a la carte. I had 1 steak, 1 brisket, 1 fish and 1 shrimp, and my partner did all 4 chicken. I loved the steak, the brisket and the shrimp. The fish isn't really my thing because it's deep fried and they have the tartar sauce etc, which reminds me of fish and chips but on corn tortillas. I ended up trading my partner for a chicken taco and it was delicious. The food is really good, it seems like the kitchen is understaffed, but plenty of servers available. The service is decent and friendly. My partner walked up and asked for sauce for our tacos because our server had forgotten about it and we also neglected to mention it. I personally love my tacos with salsa verde, and it's like the milk to the cereal it goes together and is missing a piece without it. They also have plenty of free parking, and there's even a signage that says Americanos parking which is pretty cool. Overall, we had a good time and would come back. When I come back, I'll skip the fish tacos altogether and probably stick with the steak and the shrimp as those were my top choices. Cool replacement for Leonas on Western, went in there once to just drink, and once to eat. I got the pozole and a tecate. The pozole was really good, we also got chips and guac/salsa and they were good. I will say, I wasn't too thrilled that they barely had any of the drinks listed on their menu when I went, their craft beer list looked pretty good, as well as several other types of drinks, but the day we went, there was just margaritas, and like 3 domestic cans available, which is a pretty drastic difference. My friends got the tacos, which they said were real good, and the margarita, which they said wasnt that great. Recently moved to Beverly and this place will become my spot for great Mexican food hands down! We walked over on a Wednesday afternoon right before happy hour ended (ends after 5p). We opted for inside bc the sun was directly over the outdoor seating. The inside was set up to support social distance and everyone had on masks who were moving throughout the restaurant. I'm only giving the 4 stars because we apparently came between a shift change and we sat for a while before we were greeted by a waiter. He was apologetic so that helped. My fiancé ordered the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce and they were amazing! Even the rice and beans were good. I had 3 tacos - chicken, shrimp and fish. All were delicious. Portions are pretty large. I only go thru two of my tacos. I will DEFINITELY be returning and HIGHLY recommend to those in the area or close. It's worth it. There is street parking. read more

I visited here during Phase 4 Reopening stage. I love Americanos, it really is a hidden gem. It's never too crowded, you're always seated right away. I love their drinks, they have a nice variety to choose from. They put a decent amount of liquor in the margaritas and they also have pitchers for $30. You get about 2.5-3 drinks per person with the pitcher. The salsa has a kick but it's so good! The tacos are great! I loved the al pastor. The chicken tacos are good as well. They recently updated their menu to offer a three taco dinner with your choice of tacos. The service is always great. Melissa is very friendly and helpful. They have happy hour as well from 3-5pm Tuesday through Friday. I also seen they have brunch too. Overall, I'd recommend Americanos. It's a great restaurant for quick taco dinner. read more
