    Tripe taco
    Adeola O.

I went during my lunch break. I ordered the Carne Asada quesadilla with everything on it and two tripe tacos. Everything was reasonably priced. You do get a decent amount of protein. The quesadilla is not as big as I expected it to be. It was a regular size of a small tortilla. The flavor of the quesadilla was so good. The green sauce was not spicy but it paired very well with the quesadilla. The tripe tacos were delicious. You can request for them to be crispy or regular. I did ask for onions and cilantro to be put onto my order. They did just that and it was not extra. I got two green sauces with my order. I will be going back. Everything was delicious. Perfectly cooked. I did order my food to go, but they did have a nice size restaurant where you can dine in. The service was proficient. The ambience is very modern. I do wish it looked a bit more traditional inside of there. They do have a wide variety of food and dessert. Desserts in there. I definitely will be back!

I stopped in for tacos and drinks with my brother one after afternoon. It wasn't crowded so we found a seat easily and ordered fairly quickly. The waitress came over to hand us menus and take our drink order. I had a paloma and my brother had a margarita. The drinks were decent. We also both ordered carne asada tacos which were okay. My bro liked them more than I did. The chips and salsa were average as well. The bill was about $40 tip included. I'd probably give Taqueria Durango another shot even though I wasn't blown away with the food.

I'm going to add the newest menu on here. These are the updated prices until further notice as of February 2026! Menudo, tamales, pozole, and carnitas are WEEKEND (SAT & SUN) items only but you can ask the cashiers if there is any left over from the weekends. Yes, they also do CATERING but you need to ask for the prices of half or full trays. We're open from 8am-10pm on WEEKENDS and 10am-10pm.

    Chilaquiles

I really enjoy the chilaquiles here with eggs over medium. This dish is delicious. The green salsa is amazing and they make the best eggs just right. I also like unit their Barbacoa tacos, which I believe are only offered on Sundays. They sell out pretty early so you have to get them asap on Sundays. Sometimes the cashiers are nice and sometimes they aren't so nice. That's my only qualm with this place. Otherwise, very good and fast.

I forgot to take a pic of the stellar sopes & tacos

While visiting my Grandparents' old house in Blue Island, a 20-year local there told us to try this Taqueria, calling it "the 3rd best one in all of Chicago" (after ones on something like 47th and 18th Streets, in the city). We must agree! What a STELLAR surprise find. We really live sopes, which are hard to find (in SoCal), and these were the BEST we've ever had. Fast service. Plus we got tacos to go for my MIL, and all if the food together for the 3 of our lunches was under $20! WHAT?! WOW!! This was the best surprise of that trip. We'll be back!!!

    Mango Margarita And Vegetarian Torta

Here is the best Mexican place in Blue Island. It can seem a lot of these kind of places are ramshackle, but this is like fine dining compared to a few of these that are nearby. Taqueria Durango is the best, especially true for vegetarians. Has a few healthy choices. You can get real margaritas and good shit beyond just tacos. Came in with a female friend. It was getting into the evening hours. That meant it was time for some happy hour specials. Both of us got margaritas. It's $9 at the normal price. These were a little bit less for the happy hour though. Has a few flavors to choose from. I had mango. She had pineapple. Also the food is very good. We both had a Vegetarian Torta. It's about $6 for a pretty big one. This comes with avocado, beans, cheese, lettuce, rice, sour cream, and tomatoes. Vegans leave off the dairy, and it will be good too. I liked mine a lot. The same thing for hers and she ate it like a pig. Good stuff to drink and eat. It has real tasting authentic margaritas. The tortas ate my favorite and they can make these for vegans and vegetarians.

Stepping into Taquería Durango, you're immediately enveloped by a chill and welcoming vibe that feels like a home away from home. The cozy ambiance, complemented by friendly staff and vibrant decor, sets the perfect scene for a laid-back dining experience. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and enjoy some seriously good food. This being my first time being here i decided to keep it simple and traditional,  I ordered two Asada tacos and two Al Pastor tacos, and let me tell you, each bite was a flavor explosion. The Asada tacos were packed with juicy, perfectly seasoned grilled beef that had just the right amount of char. The Al Pastor tacos, on the other hand, featured tender, marinated pork with a hint of sweetness and spice, enhanced by the pineapple bits that added a delightful tang. What really took these tacos to the next level were the homemade salsas. Each one was bursting with fresh, bold flavors that complemented the meats beautifully. Whether it was the smoky chipotle salsa or the tangy verde, every bite was a harmonious blend of taste and texture that left me wanting more. I enthusiastically recommend Taquería Durango. The flavors, the atmosphere, and the overall experience were all top-notch. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

    Piña colada it was awesome

We've been back three times since our first visit. My go to order is 3 tacos Al pastor, carne asada, shrimp and a cocktail. This weekend it was the pina colada and holy sh*t it was good

    Vegetarian Burrito

Fast service. Really nice staff. Really good food. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food. Viva Mexico I originally gave 5 stars but I'm editing this now because the server charged the tip double for no reason therefore I give 3 stars now.

Lime Jarritos yes! This is our first time here, a community place for sure, with a bit of a dive feel to it.

There is a Service- service at the door. But from there, it was hit or miss. No one asked to refill a glass or add ice. Had to run one of the servers down for ketchup while he sat at the front door. Food- i wasn't sure what to order so i went with the Meatballs. And that was an excellent choice. The beef tasted fresh and tender. The red sauce and cheese paired well. It also came with garlic bread. I made it through three of the five meat balls and was stuffed. The Flan and ice cream came with the meal. I had a little one with me and she got the chicken tenders and fries. The chicken did not taste manufactured. Definitely rib meat (breast meat). Crispy, crunchy and delicious. Fries were on point too. I was happy to see the meal was served with fruit. Soup and garlic bread is served.. please don't ask for salsa and chips, wrong place. Pink Lemonade was a perfect mix between sweet and tart. Overall, I recommend this little space of Spain. Not for my service experience, but for the food.

We shared the beef pintxos, which were packed with flavor, and the paella... absolutely divine. Every bite tasted authentic. We also ordered the goat cheese and the meatballs, and both were rich, savory, and completely satisfying. Despite a full house, the service was fantastic. The owners were incredibly friendly and attentive, and you can truly feel the pride of it being a family-owned restaurant. That kind of warmth makes a difference. We'll absolutely be back.
