I honestly don't know how they do it all while they provide such amazing customer service. They answered all 100 questions my kids asked with patience and attentiveness. They even went as far as showing my kids the massive rat enclosures that house their feeder rats which is the main culprit for the smell everyone keeps mentioning. My kids got to pet multiple animals and all of them were healthy and clean. They care so much for animals they won't rehome any they take in until they get a clean bill of health. We got to meet 5 kitties that were brought in today and are 4 months old. It's quite eye opening how much these ladies do in a day.

I'm in disbelief…read more... I have a pre-drilled 75 Gal aquarium tank and was in a bit of a bind with my API Filstar XP canister filter which had a bad impeller and the water flow was poor. While looking for a replacement part, I found out that this filter was discontinued and replacement parts are scarce to non-existent.  I purchased a Fluval Canister filter but found out that it was not compatible with the existing plumbing.  Facing the propects of having to do a replumb, and not knowing where to start, and what parts I would need, I decided to google search for companies that could perform this service.   I called MK Aquarium and Kevin answered.  He took the time to understand my issue.  What I really appreciated about Kevin is that he decided that I could save money by doing the work myself AND he would be willing to walk me through how to do it.  Candidly, I was shocked and touched by this act of kindness from a business owner. Kevin was on the phone with me, answered all my messages and I was able to get it done.  My tank is up and running with no issues so far. My first recent try was to go the traditional route - heater, filter, bottles of water conditioner & beneficial bacteria, etc. etc. - when I unexpectedly happened upon an eye-opening You-Tube vid about the Walstad method (less homework & a more natural environment, the way God intended). So I returned all that other gear & am starting from scratch. Fernando eased My initial anxiety arriving as a total tank newbie, and gave Me a tour of the various low-maintenance plants I could start My nitrogen cycling with. Nolan - the Captain of this aquarium supplies ship - answered every one of My questions with patience & grace, did not talk down to Me or make Me feel stupid, and I left feeling happily hopeful that I might actually be successful in creating a fish-friendly safe & healthy environment. I brought this to the attention of another employee and they did not seem to care about how uncomfortable I feel when I come in here . And it's always the same brown skinned guy just following me around the store ... like sir you are darker than me to be profiling me as if I'm going to steal.
