Picked up some wings and food to go - ordered the Cajun wings, along with boneless chicken in Hot Parmesan and Hot Jamaican flavors; plus a large order of tater tots. I requested sides of blue cheese. The Cajun wings had an odd taste to them. The boneless chicken pieces are to large. They need to be about half the size they currently are. They put 3 sides of Ranch dressing in my bag, instead of the blue cheese I requested. Finally, they added celery stalks to each order - and in the 20 minutes it took to get home - all of the celery pieces were "cooked" - that is to say they were basically steamed by being in each respective container with hot food. The service was great. Space is small, there's a few tables for dining in however it's more of a take out place. The steak and cheese was very good, I would get again. Sadly, these were the worst wings we have ever had. My wife went inside and ordered 15 wings with lemon pepper dry rub and mild sauce on the side. She waited about 20 minutes while the order was prepared. When we got home about 15 minutes later and sat down to eat, we were very dismayed: a. The wings were plain without the lemon pepper rub and cooked too long. They were hard, dry, and tough. b. A thin yellow sauce in two little containers was just a tasteless oil. c. A thin red sauce in two little containers had a very bland taste. d. The little containers were about 1-1/4 inch diameter and 1 inch deep, too small around to dip anything except the very end of any part of the wings into. We will not be back. read more

It was not much to write home about due to the Thai chili being too sugary and the Jerk only being a sauce like buffalo sauce and not real jerk sauce that you would get from a Jamaican place. Stopped in yesterday with hubby for fried Whiting and grilled shrimp combo with a side order of whole wings. I'll start by saying the place was clean and the help was nice. Now on to the food. The fries and cole slaw were the best part of my meal. Cons: The Whiting tasted old and had absolutely NO seasoning. The grilled shrimp weren't too bad but only one size was available and by the time they were grilled they were pretty small. After reading the reviews of others it is obvious that all the flavor is in the sauce. The whole wings don't come with sauce and again had absolutely NO seasoning. Not even salt. It was a shame because they were fried really well but any cook knows it is hard to season fried food AFTER it has been cooked. Hot sauce coupon it cover up the "old fish" taste. I've been to New Orleans several times and the rice was far from "dirty rice". I do not know why, though to me this place screams 90s? The menu selection has a nice variety of items and combos that just can't be beat. My personal favorites are the ghost pepper dry rub wings or boneless, they have a nice even bite to it mixed with a smooth flavor. The service is relatively quick. The only reason this is not a five star review is that the two of the three times I had called in the woman taking the call did not seem all that enthused. On multiple occasions I have walked up to the counter to place my order and he's screaming at someone on his personal cell phone, video chatting or out right ignoring whoever is at the counter. I eat at this restaurant regularly. When it first opened I was so excited to have a place to get fried catfish in this area. There's a huge void around here in soul food. While this is NOT a soul food restaurant, it does have fried catfish and although it's not prepared the same as it would be in a soul food restaurant, it works in a pinch. Anyway, the catfish is the only thing I ever order. I usually call in my order and have a family member pick it up and bring it to me. Every once in a while, my food arrives and the "catfish" is not catfish. Yesterday I was clearly served whiting. I don't know if the staff is making an honest mistake or if they think the customer won't know the difference but catfish and whiting look different, smell different, and taste different. The first time this happened to me I called the restaurant to let them know. The second time it happened I rolled my eyes and let it go. Now it's starting to annoy me. I live a certain distance that is close enough to get this food sometimes, but not close enough that I'd make a trip to return the food if my order is incorrect.
