6-19 Emersyn, the hostess, was absolutely fantastic! Since this was our first visit, we weren't sure which flavors to choose. While she was helping us, another customer came in, and we stepped aside so she could assist them first. Instead, Emersyn kindly said, "Let me finish helping you first," which we truly appreciated. The other customer even joined the conversation and recommended the onion rings over the fries, and that turned out to be an excellent suggestion! The onion rings were outstanding. The chicken wings were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. Out of the 20 wings, there were only two that were a bit on the skinny side, but that was a very minor issue in an otherwise excellent meal. I just happened to stumble across the newest Velocity Wings location in Northern Virginia this evening. The retail complex which houses the Giant Food I shop at - now has a "Tacos & Tequila" sign on the empty spot directly next door to the Giant (the spot that used to house "Eugene's"). So I cruised down to the other end of the retail complex to where "Tacos & Tequila" used to be - and found a new Velocity Wings location in its place. I enjoy Velocity Wing's grub - so in I went for dinner! Sat at a high top table - looked over the menu and ordered the "Speros Bacon Bleu Cheeseburger" (comes with bacon, blue cheese and caramelized onions) - medium. It comes with fries - and I added the "Combo" option to add 5 wings to the meal - Garlic Parmesan with a side of Blue Cheese - plus water and bottle of Lagunitas IPA. I asked my server how long this Velocity Wings location had been here - apparently it opened just last week on Friday (Oct. 20, 2023). It's so new - they have not yet had a Grand Opening, and the location was not yet listed on their web site or as one of the Velocity Wings locations on the physical menus. For a Tuesday evening - the place was very busy. There is a long bar that stretches most of the way across the back and down one side of the restaurant. There are a ton of HD TVs throughout the place displaying sports games. My food came out in less than 10 minutes. Everything was hot and tasty - and the beer was cold. I attempted to pay with Apple Pay - but I found in order to do so - you need the Toast App on your smart phone - and while I did have the app - I never created an account - so off to the bar to pay with a physical credit card. I really enjoy supporting local restaurants and want them to succeed, but my recent experiences at Velocity Wings have left me disappointed. Today was meant to be a special treat--I let my daughters handle lunch on their own to give them a bit of independence. My youngest ordered a medium-well burger, but it arrived very undercooked. She took a few bites before realizing something was wrong, and, being a kid, tried to cover it up with fries so the waiter wouldn't see she didn't like it. When I checked in, I saw the burger was indeed undercooked, and the fries were greasy and soggy. When the bill came, I politely asked the waiter if they could consider comping the $20 meal, given the quality issue. I suggested it would be the right thing to do, but after speaking with the manager, they declined. After dining here multiple times, I had hoped for a better response. I just wish we had more reliable quality in both food and service. read more

Really disappointing wings for a place that's supposed to be known for wings. We ordered extra sauced spicy garlic and hot wings and the wings were drenched more in oil than any type of wing sauce. Was hungry and saw there was a new Velocity Wings in Haymarket. I sat at the bar and ordered 10 wings (Cajun and Lemon Pepper) and a beer from Mani. The wings did not disappoint! There was live music that day and the musician (Andy B) played some of the most amazing mashups. That atmosphere was warm, music was awesome , and Mani made the experience even better as great Bartender. I made it a point to tell Sylvia the Manager, what a pleasant manager, how great the wings, music, and service from the bar was. I will definitely be stopping by again. read more

First try of the new location, but have had Velocity wings before. The wings are still meaty but flavor was meh. Mango habanero wings were sauced but tasted pretty plain - no mango and no heat. Hots had decent flavor but ordered extra crispy and they definitely weren't crispy. The food is decent overall, but for my money I would still choose Wing Stop over this place for wings. read more

Ordered 15 boneless wings with extra blue cheese for pickup. Got 15 bone in wings instead but didn't realize this until I got home. WORST wings ever!!! Greasy and tasteless and I don't eat bone in wings! On top of the disgusting wings was the runny blue cheese to dip them in. TOTALLY DISGUSTING ALL OF IT. Will NEVER eat there again. I stopped in for lunch on my way to Skyline Drive to see the fall foliage. I had the Buffalo Chicken Salad: lettuce, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, and I may have asked for ranch dressing. It was excellent! It was also big enough that I didn't finish it. I ordered it with fried chicken strips instead of grilled because I'm health-conscious like that. The soda was mixed nicely and it was Coca-Cola which is my preference. If you're a Pepsi person they also had lemonade, iced tea, fruit punch, and apple juice. I noticed because my kids are not soda drinkers. My kids were not with me during this visit but I understand that they eat free on Tuesdays. The staff was friendly and attentive. The manager even came out and checked on the patrons to make sure that everyone was happy with their food and service. I have eaten at some of their other locations, so I was familiar with the menu. My Aunt and I had dinner there Sunday evening and it was excellent. I had the wings (flats only) with the dry rub and they were delicious!! My Aunt had wings with the bbq sauce and she said they also were delicious. I tried a martini with vodka, kahlua and coffee and I will definitely get one again. Our server was Anthony and he was awesome!! Friendly and professional, made sure we had everything we needed. He checked on us periodically and didn't hover. I like this place and have been here several times. Happy to have them in the neighborhood as a fun, clean, good place but there are some fairly annoying and simple things to fix. Starting with the good first - great bar and lots of beer and cocktail options. Lots of TVs to watch your favorite games - 12 TVs total. And, great food options - wings, burgers, salads, sandwiches and all for a fair price. Now for the annoying.... the entrance to the kitchen has no door so you can see the boxes and the florescent lights in the kitchen ruin the ambiance in half of the seating area. Also, on more than one occasion the kitchen has had music blasting the bleeds into the dining area and competes with the music in the dining area. I get it total first world problems but it hurts my brain and is total chaos to my ears - ugh!! Then when it gets busy, the noise coming out of the kitchen gets louder and louder - please please please get a door for your kitchen. Next, your sauces for your wings aren't consistent with the other locations - whoever is making your sauces needs training on the recipes. For example the spicy garlic wings came out with butter and very little garlic on them with a side of buffalo sauce to sprinkle on... bizarre. The other Velocity Wing locations blend the buffalo sauce with the garlic and the wings get tossed with the sauce so they come out coated in red sauce with chunks of garlic all over the wings - not sitting in butter. This has happened 3 out of 3 times - I no longer order the wings. read more

Ordered carry-out to eat at home watching football. Not a good experience. Ordered on-line (complete menu not available for on-line ordering), and informed it would be 17-22 minutes to be ready. Took almost 45 minutes. Cheesesteak sandwich came without cheese (really? it's in the name). Fries, both sides and as appetizer were half raw, soggy and cold.
