Vehicle SSI report - only dry rot notated.
    Victoria Q.

My experience with America's Tire was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had. I brought my vehicle in for a tire appointment after a recent safety inspection that found no issues with my lug nuts or wheel studs, only that I needed new tires due to dry rot. During the appointment, I was told the technicians could not remove the front lug nuts and that I would need to take the vehicle elsewhere. After leaving the store, I immediately noticed a wobble that had not been present before the appointment. When I got home, I discovered a lug nut was missing. I contacted the store and was put in touch with Assistant Manager Gregory. I was told they would "only pay for one lug nut." Which is all that I noticed was missing at the time. The following day, another repair shop inspected the vehicle and found extensive damage that ultimately resulted in over $1,100 in repair costs. What made the situation even worse was the claims process. It took multiple attempts just to get a claim started and obtain a claim number. Communication was poor, updates were difficult to get, and I often felt like I was the one doing all the follow-up. Despite providing documentation, repair invoices, and a detailed timeline, the process dragged on for more than two months. After months of waiting, countless follow-up attempts, and being led to believe the matter would be addressed, my claim was denied and I was offered only $100 as a customer service gesture. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company handles them. Had there been transparency, timely communication, and accountability, I likely would have walked away with a very different opinion. Instead, I was left with a repair bill exceeding $1,100, months of frustration, and a claims process that felt unnecessarily difficult from start to finish. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location or this company.

Sunday- finding the nail still in my tire.

I found a nail in my tire on Friday- I called America's Tire on Arden and they said they would repair it for free so I rushed over. The salesman started to scan the tread on all of my tires and started to check things I may need. I got the sense he was looking to find something to sell me on. I had left my kids at home and hoped to have the nail removal/repair done quickly to put my mind at ease. They took the tire off and brought it over to further discuss options of replacing the tire and buying new ones. I asked if they could just remove the nail and repair the tire and I would return at a later time to consider changing out my tires. The salesman told me 'no problem, we'll get this taken care of but will you come back soon to have the tires replaced? I said I would chat with my spouse and we'd plan for it in the summer but I just needed to have the nail removed and tire repaired'. I waited there for about an hour total and they came and told me my car was ready. Today is Sunday and my tire pressure light came on early in the morning- I brought my windows down to hear the sound of the nail hitting the ground with each wheel rotation. I got out to see the nail was never taken out of the tire. I have a photo of the day I took it in and today- same nail, same position, same tire- definitely was not touched. I also have my receipt for my visit saying the repair was completed. They are closed today. I took my car somewhere else and had them take care of it. Not okay at all- I'm so upset!

6 months earlier. Same tire and rim in the same place. You can confirm not only with the mark I've circled but the mark on my car above it.

As fate would have it, I took the car to the dealership for a recall and they discovered that one of the tires had a small bubble. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate almost two years with the car by treating her to some new tires. I reached out to Chris who quoted me $1,200 (including manufacture warranty) for four thick profiled performance tires, which was $1,300 cheaper than the quote that I received from the dealer. Chris quickly placed the order for the tires and called me the next day to inform me that they had arrived. Since the establishment is generally very busy on the weekends, I decided to visit on a weekday in hopes for a quicker experience. Thankfully, there was only one car ahead of me when I arrived. Chris instructed me to pull the car into the shop and immediately began removing the tires (I'm always impressed by a hands-on owner). Less than 30 minutes later, the job was done and I was in the office checking out. As Chris implied, I can confirm that the ride quality of my car has significantly improved. I have been a customer for seven years and have referred many friends and family to the shop. If you're looking for competitive prices and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend visiting South West Tire Shop!

Honest Mechanic Alert…read more As someone who has written plenty of Yelp reviews over the years, I don't throw around praise lightly--but this shop absolutely deserves it. My entire family brings our vehicles here, and for good reason. If you can, ask for Ali. He's handled everything for us, from routine maintenance to larger repairs, and the work has consistently been solid and reliable. For context, this shop is essentially maintaining a fleet of vehicles for our family business, and they've earned that trust through honest assessments and fair pricing. I also know my way around a vehicle, so I can tell when someone is being straightforward versus trying to upsell--and I've never had that issue here. Yes, the current economy means car repairs everywhere feel a bit more expensive than they used to. But what you're paying for here is transparency, quality work, and excellent customer service--and that's hard to beat. If you're looking for a mechanic you can actually trust, this place is worth checking out.

What was most disappointing wasn't even the noise itself--it was the response when I returned to the shop. I was told that "all cars do that" and that I would need to pay for a diagnostic. No one offered to recheck the wheel installation, inspect their work, or verify that the vehicle was safe to drive. I'm not claiming the shop caused the problem, but mistakes can happen during any service. Tire installations and rotations involve human work, and I expected at least a basic inspection when a new noise appeared immediately after the service. Instead, my concerns were dismissed. As a customer, it's frustrating to leave wondering whether the vehicle is safe to drive and feeling like no effort was made to investigate the issue. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this shop. Don't go here please go across the street your safety is very important!!!!! Thank you for your response. To clarify, my concern was never that a tire rotation requires disassembly of suspension or steering components. My concern was that a knocking noise appeared immediately after the tire installation and rotation, despite the vehicle not exhibiting this symptom beforehand. I did not ask for a free suspension diagnosis. I asked that the shop verify the work that had just been performed. As a customer, I expected basic checks such as wheel torque, wheel seating, and tire clearance before being directed toward a paid diagnostic service. Had someone simply said, "Let's double-check our work first and make sure everything related to the tire service looks correct," I likely would have had a very different impression of the experience. I understand that the noise may ultimately be unrelated to the tire service. However, when a new symptom appears immediately after service, I believe it is reasonable for a customer to expect the work performed to be verified before additional charges are discussed. I we genuinely looking for a place to take my business fleet and thought I found one

Taking that advice at face value, I spent the money on a brand-new set of factory replacement rims. Ironically, those new rims were improperly mounted, resulting in a vibration that wasn't there before. So my solution to a balancing problem was... another balancing problem. Fast forward to this visit. I brought in my spare wheel to have a new tire mounted. Simple enough. I returned the next day expecting to pick it up, at which point Justin informed me there was "a problem." It turns out my wheel had apparently gone home with another customer. I paused for a moment, assuming the punchline was coming. Instead, I was offered a black wheel as a replacement. The trouble is, I'd previously spent good money buying matching factory silver rims, so introducing one black wheel into the family felt a bit like replacing a missing tuxedo shoe with a flip-flop. Curious, I asked how this could happen if every wheel is tagged with customer information. I was assured they are. So naturally I asked how mine ended up with someone else. The answer was refreshingly concise: "I don't know." I suggested perhaps calling the customer who had accidentally driven away with my wheel. After all, if every wheel is tagged, surely there would be a record of who received it. That seemed like a reasonable plot twist, but nothing came of it while I was there. The result? I use my truck to haul my bikes on weekend rides, and without a proper spare I decided not to risk it. Weekend canceled. Then came the equally enjoyable task of explaining to my wife why our matching spare had vanished and why the proposed solution was a black wheel that wasn't ours. If you've ever tried explaining that sentence out loud, you'll appreciate how little sense it makes. To the store's credit, they called Saturday to say the other customer had returned my wheel. I genuinely appreciate that. Unfortunately, they were closing before I could get there, so the damage, in terms of lost plans and unnecessary frustration had already been done. Everyone makes mistakes. Losing a customer's wheel isn't ideal, but it can happen. What left me scratching my head was that the systems designed to prevent exactly this scenario didn't seem to prevent it, and no one could really explain how it happened. Honestly, I'm left wondering what adventure awaits on visit number four or five or whatever it is. I'm not eager to find out.
