Worst phone system ever encountered. Cut you off while on hold, when you do reach someone in India they cant hear you.

I did have an online account for said person but the website changed and I couldn't recreate a new log in. PARKING: There were 13 on-street, 1-hour parking stalls (which are never unoccupied) fronting the building, or a parking garage with supposedly high rates according to other reviewers. I forced my spouse to do a drop off & pick up! EXPERIENCE: Located on the first floor of One Main Plaza, security will escort you in while asking some safety questions. He then had me check in on the slow-responding kiosk which issued a ticket number, just like the DMV. The small office had an adequate amount of chairs and 8 windows. A TV screen showed called numbers but no chimes or alerts were sounded to get your attention, but the security guard, out of the goodness of his heart, would verbally announce the numbers and which window to go to. I was called in about 30 minutes which I thought was pretty quick judging by the amount of people waiting. The guy who helped me asked for a death certificate, which I had on my phone but I wasn't allowed to email it to them to see or print out. I did have a hard copy POA which he thankfully accepted along with a few security questions. 5 minutes later I had document in-hand! I think he knew my predicament and assisted me fully because he cared. Much appreciated and thank you! OVERALL: If you've had a bad experience here, I'm pretty sure you were partly to blame. Be civil and you'll go far.

I just wish we had got the gentleman's name so I could give him a personal shout out here! We had to visit the DHS to complete the process and he made sure we knew what to ask for, gave us some print outs and forms to take with us, and made sure we knew where we were going. He was empathetic and helpful and it was such a relief as we though it was going to be a hard process after dealing with the Red Cross and FEMA recently in the Lahaina disaster. Easy parallel street parking outside, friendly security guard at the entrance will show you the way, the security guard at Soc Sec welcomes you and shows you the ropes. Sooo easy. Mahalo to everyone at the Soc Sec office for helping us.

FACILITIES: My parents retired from MPD so I've been inside both buildings. The old station was that sunken, 2-level building right next to the county building and currently houses the county permits office. They moved from those cramped quarters to their current spot on Mahalani Street in the mid 80's. Back then, you could literally walk through the entire building as no doors were key-controlled. Not anymore. Today, the public has access only to the receiving desk and traffic sections. POSITIVE EXPERIENCES: Calling 911 has been quick and efficient. Like other reviewers have stated, I too have gotten a condescending operator on the line, but it is a high-stress job with measly pay, so I get it. Working with the public, you do get your fair share of a-holes just like at any job. My outcomes have always been favorable whenever I needed help, from health emergencies to minor traffic accidents to non-emergent issues. I even got out of jury duty once due to my relationship with the department, LOL! Years ago, riding in a friend's truck from Lahaina to Kahului, we almost got into a head-on collision as some idiot was overtaking cars. After we swerved off the shoulder, luckily an officer was right behind us and pulled the yo-yo over. Most recently, I had someone clip my vehicle and drive off. I gave chase, an officer saw the other driver speeding, he gave chase but lost them, I provided the license plate number, he got their info, their insurance paid. Yes! NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES: Once, I was driving to Lahaina and traffic was just stopped in the Ukumehame area. It wasn't the usual gridlock but one car that was stopped at the head of the line backing up traffic. I had no idea what was going on so I blew my horn as we were just sitting there. In any other city it would be accepted but not to this one dick-of-an-officer who came up to my car and gave me crap about it. Back around 1996, even after providing the license plate number to the attending officer of a hit-and-run driver, I got no info back on the other driver and got stuck with the repair bill. OVERALL: Thanks for keeping Maui safe!

It's an historic building, designed by Maui-born architect CW Dickey, and opened in August 1929. It was the first public library in Maui County, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Inside you'll find a great selection of books in all genres, with varying displays of selected works that relate to current events or celebrations, and a staff of friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful librarians eager to help you get the most out of your library experience. There are adult and keiki reading rooms, a rack of books for sale (proceeds benefit the library), magazines, and much more. New automated checkout stations are super convenient and easy to use and offer you the choice of printed or emailed receipt for checked out items. As with all branches of the state library system, you can use their app to request and place holds on items and pick them up here (or any other location). The app also lets you see your due dates for checked out items, renew any if needed, and see where you are in line for items you've requested. The Wailuku library may not be physically huge, but it's definitely punching above its weight and providing great service to the community.

I've driven by a million gazillion times and today was the first time I've ever been inside. It clearly is historic and what a gem. Parking is on the street or in the County parking lot across the street. There is a crosswalk and a ramp in the back for handicapped and strollers. I have fond memories of going to my local hometown library as a child so I hope to do the same for my little blessing. The librarians and everyone were so nice. There is also a little one floor elevator to get down to the keiki area. I love that they have their own space. It is super cute. I can see so many more trips in the future with my little one. Not the fanciest library but still wonderful and for someone who loves books like me, it is one of my happy places.

After doing some troubleshooting on my own--changing toilet parts, checking the irrigation system, and investigating other possible causes--we narrowed the issue down to the main water line. John responded immediately, told me he could send someone out the same day, and even gave me a one-hour arrival window. Based on the information I provided, he was able to give me a quote before anyone even came out, which I really appreciated. As promised, Jonathan arrived right on time. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He located the leak surprisingly quickly, and I was shocked at how deep the pipe was buried. At one point, Jonathan was upside down in the hole working to access it! Throughout the process, he clearly explained what needed to be done. He let me know he was going to the store to get a part and would be right back--and he was. He returned quickly and got right back to work. Once the repair was completed, he showed me the damaged section of pipe and explained the fix before covering everything back up. I was especially impressed with the care he took when refilling the hole. He carefully put the soil back in place, and by the end of the job, he was covered from head to toe in mud. It was obvious he worked incredibly hard to get the repair done right. It's been a few days since the repair, and so far everything is working perfectly. The owner of this company is responsive, kind, and most importantly, honest. I highly recommend Good Guys Plumbing for any plumbing needs. They truly live up to their name--they really are "The Good Guys"! Mahalo, John (and Jonathan) for your help. We appreciate you so much!!!
