I'm a fan of Italian food even if it's a casual dining experience. I love the happy hour at Amerigo, as it lets me try dishes I wanted to always try but the price vs me liking it was a tough call. I'm always intrigued by lasagna so I ordered the one on the happy hour menu. I also ordered the happy hour Caesar salad. The salad was bigger than I expected given it was on the happy hour menu. It was decent but I could have used more dressing. The lasagna was good with plenty of sauce and cheese. I could taste the various flavors but could have used a touch of seasoning in the meat. I will caution anyone who goes to happy hour. The staff didn't warn me that the happy hour specials were not small portions so order accordingly as I had a lot of food to take home. Staff was sweet and packed my extras up. Made for a great lunch the next day. read more

I like any place with white tablecloths! Staff very friendly and professional. I am a big fan of Mediterranean salad. This one should have been called pasta salad. As such I would have given it five stars. But I was looking for greens. I had very little arugula but the whole top was covered in bow tie pasta....the last thing I wanted. My friends and I visited the Jackson location about a week ago while we were in the area. We visited the Ridgeland location frequently, and the food and service there were always excellent, so we were excited to try this location for a girls' night. When we arrived, we waited longer than expected to be seated, regardless of there being several open tables. There was no communication from the staff about the delay, which left us feeling confused and awkwardly waiting. Once we were seated, the atmosphere was cozy and we were looking forward to the evening! After our server was assigned, her attitude was okay, but she walked away quickly after taking our order, which made it difficult to ask questions or make additional requests. The service overall felt slow. When our food arrived, it was lukewarm to cold. We ordered the same pasta we usually get at the Ridgeland location, but it was not the same. The flavor was lacking, and it did not taste freshly prepared. The only dish we enjoyed was the Caesar Salad.... Also, all 5 of us ordered an espresso martini and I ordered mine with Tito's and mine was made differently than the others which was strange. I make espresso martinis at home while maintaining the creaminess and I'm not sure what this bartender was doing. We did askfor our martinis to be creamy. Sever was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The place is nice inside and elegant. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I had the shrimp bisque which is a nice take on lobster bisque. Then blackened chicken and 3 cheese tortellini. An pecan crumble cake with apple cinnamon pieces. The crush was the best part and I could have done without the apple pieces. This review is for Fondren only. We have been 4 times since they opened and each time has been top notch in every way. Service has been excellent. From apps to the tiramisu, all of the meals have been great. A great old fashioned on 2 visits. Not sure what is different here but Flowood and Ridgeland need it. Fondren is our go to for Amerigo. It's small and quaint with a cozy feel. read more

I had such a lovely experience. I was greeted by the hostess and my party was immediately seated. The waitress did not delay and swiftly brought us bread and oil. She recommended us wine that paired well with our meals. I ordered the red fish with crawfish tails and it was delicious. I ate every crumb and the Chardonnay was tasty. Just had lunch at Amerigo at Duling. I was really disappointed in my crab cake over beans and greens with lemon dressing. The crab cake had very little crab. About 90% bread, the greens were few with on stems and lots of beans and a teaspoon of lemon dressing. Had to ask for more dressing. Has Amerigo's changed their crab cake recipe in all locations?? If a decent crab cake can't be offered then please take it off your menu. Service was extremely slow for everything. Can I recommend this place for lunch ? Probably not yet!! read more

Great! I had the chicken alfredo and it was delicious! They also gave me some foccia with oil and it tasted like the bread was made fresh. And dipping the bread into the alfredo sauce....heaven! I am so happy I was recommended this place. I sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely attentive and friendly. Not pushy or in a hurry even though he was serving a full bar. The bar itself was nice as it was surrounded in windows so plenty of light came in. It is a good spot to go for happy hour or to watch a game because they have a couple tvs at the bar. Next time I will sit in the actual restaurant side. But I couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

Loved the fresh bread with olive oil and herbs to dip. My mom enjoyed the daily special which was chicken and angel hair dish. It was divine. I had the chicken club which was unlike any other chicken sandwich I've ever had. No complaints about the service! She gave us extra bread to go. The setting made me want to dress up a little more. Amerigo's is such a reliable mainstay with my family that it is the "go/to" when no one agrees with another eatery. Food is predictably high quality, salads are fresh, pasta is always cooked Al dente, meats are always cooked to desired temperature. Their take out service saved us during COVID shut-downs. I love the new Fondren location!!! Amerigo is a local favorite for a reason. Everything in the menu is delicious. My favorite is the tortellini with crab. But the steaks and veal are delicious. Really good Picata and an excellent and varied wine list that includes some good quality reasonably priced wines that do not break the bank. Nice size pours on adult beverages. We are NEVER disappointed in the consistent quality, taste, service and atmosphere of Amerigo. We prefer the Fondren location. The GM is awesome as well as staff. They even don't fuss when I sub items. We saw a recent post about Amerigo having a fabulous steak and my husband is an aficionado on steaks.
