ABSOLUTE GARBAGE WINDOWS!!! BEWARE OF THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Had my windows and a door replaced by these clowns. When the wind blows the windows and patio door leak lots of air and whistle. They came out three times. Didn't fix the problem. They said their windows were perfectly installed. They told me to plant trees so the wind wouldn't be so strong against the windows. Their terrible windows were warping and out of square and the leakage grew worse. THESE CLOWNS DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WINDOWS. THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS THEY CAUSE. They will threaten to sue you if you leave a bad review. I had to have my windows replaced by a reputable company. When the REPUTABLE company removed these clowns windows, it became obvious that they didn't properly install them. These clowns failed to seal around the windows. They reused old nasty insulation. These morons told me that I needed to plant trees to block the wind from whistling through their crappy windows. Absolutely horrible experience. I recommend renewal by Anderson. Haven't had any whistling windows sine I had these clowns garbage windows replaced. read more

I ordered a patio door and paid a down payment using a check in late April of 2025. I was called mid June that the door was ready to install and was installed on June 30th. The installers who put in my patio door were great. They were very professional, and very courteous. I handed the check with the remaining amount owed to the installers after they finished. This whole fiasco started when I was called and told that their bank could not read my writing on the final payment check and refused to cash it. I informed them that the day before I notice that the handle on the screen door was broken. I was immediately told that I owed for the patio door. I understood that and requested the uncashed check back so I could reissue a new one hoping they would return to fix the broken handle. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! I was told that they don't return checks. Why wasn't the check inspected at the time I had given it to them to make sure everything was correct? They sent out a gentleman to pick up the new check but he was unaware about the broken handle so he wasn't prepared to fix it. He got on the phone with their office about the discrepancy in communication. That is when the tirade started. The person on the other end of the phone, Brian (last name and position unknown) accused me of not wanting to pay, threatened to have the sheriff come out and arrest me, threatened that he was going to sue me and threw in a few nasty swear words. I then told him that was uncalled for. After the phone call ended, I sent an email to Brian Brill ( was told by Brad the installer who came to pick up the check, that he owned Ameritech Windows and he gave me Brian's email address) stating what had transpired over the phone. I got an email back from Scott Brill, the sales manager and he defended Brian's (position unknown) disgusting behavior. No one told me I had written the wrong amount in the written section of the check. Only that the bank could not read it. I'm 86 and I make mistakes and my handwriting is a little shaky. I wish I knew about Yelp before this so I could have seen all these poor reviews about Ameritech before I chose this company. I hope other elderly folks will see this and won't be verbally abused like I was. read more

Excellent product. Aggressive sales tactics which I did not appreciate, 'the price is only good while I am here' , they put you on the spot and give you no chance to think about it. I gave a deposit which was withdrawn out of my checking account within seconds. Next day I had buyers remorse and requested a refund. It took 10 days for my refund to come thru, not including an additional 2 days for my bank to process. Once again , it is an amazing product which I am sure will last for many many years. Cancelled an appt, and by cancelled I mean didn't show and didn't call because my wife was unable to be there.

My experience with Ameritech Windows: -Salesman shows up at our door -Successfully sales us a triple pane sliding glass door, with estimated install date of 60 to 90 days -I pay the required down payment -Guy shows up without notice 1 month later to take dimensions -6 months later, 2 installers show up to install the door -The install went pretty well; 7/10 due to scratching my floors, and bent flashing - I write a check for remaining balance because CCs are NOT accepted for final payment, and take a picture of the signed installation "checklist" -All good right? NOPE -Maybe a week later I get a call from one of the installers who informs that he was a subcontractor for Ameritech and he had not been compensated properly by Ameritech, and as such had the legal right to put a lien on MY property -I immediately call Ameritech who tell me that the disgruntled installer had no legal right to place a lien on my property and that I should block his number. I do block the installer's number. -I keep going about my life for another 2-3 weeks when Ameritech calls me and tells me to pay the remaining balance. I let them know that I gave the check to the installer (who I thought just worked for Ameritech??) and signed the contract. The Ameritech rep. says that he is sorry for all of the trouble and that they never received the check. He then asks for me to send him the picture of the signed document and check receipt. I email the rep. the documents right afterward. -A day later, this rep asks me to cancel the check and write them a new one. At this point in time, I'm starting to feel weird about the entire situation. Firstly, I'm literally having to do work for this company, and secondly they're asking me to assume risk by issuing another check that is possession by a subcontractor that wants to put a lien of my property. Like what is going on? -I deliberate on this situation for a week. I get a call from the owner of Ameritech who starts SCREAMING and says he will sue me if he doesn't get a check in 48 hours. -WHAT IS GOING ON?? I literally just wanted a sliding glass door and now have 2 LEGAL ACTIONS BEING TAKEN AGAINST ME. -I might update this later on the final outcome LOL -I don't think I need to say more here. This company has predatory sales men who lie about financing options. I declined their services and they continued to call, the last man that came to review said, "I guarantee you if I walk out that door, we will not be doing business together." I am a single woman and I felt cornered. I ordered with the understanding that the loan was interest free, but after the first year, the interest is 20.99%! This company took over 120 days to install my windows & front door. I called many times for a status update and was repeatedly told "your order is on the next truck." They refused to provide an itemized price list and only gave "bulk pricing per job." The manager yelled at me on the phone when I challenged the above, stating if I took him to court, I would not have a leg to stand on. Do NOT use this company if you need new windows/doors. This project was completed in December of 2023 and as of March 18, 2024 the company is now threatening me with a $30K fine if I do not remove this review. read more

Ameritech sent a door to door rep to my door and to my neighborhood. The company and rep acted in violation of Colorado law three times. 1) by ringing my doorbell and knocking on my door with a documented "No Solicitation" sign on my door in clear view. 2) soliciting far beyond the legal 30 minutes after sundown (it was pitch black and after 7pm) 3) by selling under false pretense and starting with saying "we were just curious if you heard any noise from construction we did a week ago about a block away" I have 5 other neighbors who verify my claim on a popular neighborhood app, with one of them posting the Nest camera pic shown. Worst experience with a business ever. The windows were installed improperly and I had wind blowing into my house around my new windows. They didn't seal the windows from the outside either and I got water into my house and now need mold remediation. They said they didn't need a permit. I found out they did and it failed the inspection. They sent 4 crews over to my house in the past 2 1/2 years. Three did faulty work and left a mess behind for me to clean up when they left. I am an 80 year old retired Federal Bank Examiner who has undergone an extensive FBI background check and proven to have an unblemished background. I do not lie, steal, or cheat under any circumstances. So, when I say or write anything you can bank on it, period. My recent experience with the Ameritech Windows of Boulder, Colorado, has been the first in my life to give me an experience of lies and deceit. My home has had triple pane windows and patio doors for over twenty years and I want to update them to today's technology. An Ameritech sales person out of Colorado Springs came out, and I clearly explained what my intent was, which is to replace all triple pane windows with updated technology. At no time during that visit did the sales rep mention anything about any double pane product. So I believed I was interacting with someone with a clear understanding of what my goal was. His process was a bit odd in that he had to "make a call to his boss to discuss giving me an additional discount" twice, and he used one of those signing pieces of equipment whereby you sign it and it then your signature is transferred to a document. But he never gave me any document to read until after all signatures were so afixed. I had no reason to be concerned as I believed he clearly knew what I wanted and the order so reflected. Only after the installation of the patio doors did I become aware it was double pane and not triple pane. It was then that I became aware of the con job that he pulled. I got a call from the owner about my action to halt any further installations until this was cleared up with a removal of the double pane patio doors. He started screaming at the top of his lungs that I was not telling the truth even though he was not in attendance at the meeting I had with his rep. I immediately thought he conducted himself like a Boulder drama queen trying out for an Academy Award. Both individuals were the first experience in my entire life with those type of persons and it spoke volumes about the company, its ownership and personnel. This review is for the introductory sales meeting to get a quote. There are a number of bad reviews about this, so I thought I'd share my experience, as people with neutral-to-positive experiences with a business might not feel as compelled to review it. Levi, the sales rep, was knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. It did take 2+ hours, but new windows are a big investment :-/ so I never felt like my time was being wasted (we recently had another estimate done, and that took even longer). They will absolutely try to sell you the windows before the meeting is over, but I can hardly fault them for that, as this is a highly competitive business. They might've changed their policy regarding asking about your spouse, as I wasn't asked if they'd be home. Perhaps ask for Levi if you're worried about getting assigned an overly aggressive rep. read more

The window they showed us was not the window that they delivered. Beware of this bait and switch. Make sure that you take pictures of the window that you see during the presentation. They said that the window will block 99% of all UV light. Bristol, who makes Ameritech windows, claims only 73% blockage of UV light. I shined my UV-A longwave light through there window and my fluorescent minerals lit up as if there was no window there. The windows are great otherwise even if they are over priced. read more

I have had l friends and family ask, that are interested installations, what company did the work. I refuse to refer anyone. I am at the point of contacting the Better Business Bureau. We had our windows installed some time ago. It was a nightmare from the start. The measurements were wrong, but the windows were installed regardless. Installation was done poorly, most of our windows leak. From the first winter we've had snow leak in under our front door. The caulking has browned and become grimy over the years, nothing cleans it. We started with complaints that were swept under the rug, every time they call to check in we're told there's "no history of complaints". Now there's even more new staff calling to ask about our satisfaction, when we share all the issues it's "new to them". They want $200 just to send someone to look at what the issues are, but are happy to waive that if we buy more products from them. If you get a good Installation I imagine they are a decent product but quotes to fix these issues from Installation from home contractors is well into the thousands. We just now paid them off, and we're already looking to replace them. Again. read more

They harped on it when I made the appointment, they then kept texting me about it, and called me about it even though I told them fine but it should only take 30 minutes. I've been getting multiple quotes from contractors to replace windows. Jeff from Ameritech insisted that my husband be there too. I don't know if that's misogynistic or a marketing ploy for high pressure sales with both decision makers. I can handle it by myself, thanks. I've been the salesperson, and I've never seen this as a requirement. Honestly, it's insulting. I have other bids coming in. This company does not get good reviews on Yelp (notorious for its off-handed negative reviews, by general consensus) because of its sales techniques, primarily. Point taken. Window salespeople always try to get you to sign before they leave. Obnoxious, I know. I like to shop around. But their product is excellent; their guarantee is unmatched by any other big company in the area. Most of our windows are now Ameritech. (And I'm going to add another laudatory remark about their product: a burglary ring that hit our neighborhood tried to throw an eight-pound rock through an Ameritech window. Just a little smudge. They went on to an old window in our old house and got in easily.) Three of the negative reviews here have to do with their policy regarding having both house-owners home for the evaluation. Weird, but there is a reason for this. A husband once ordered a window installation for their house while his wife was away. She came home a day early, disapproved, and sued. So: Typical hard-sell, but fantastic product and professional installation. If you find a way around this process, good for you. Living in America has its downsides, speaking as one who has lived elsewhere and would rather shop for windows in Germany, but I can't. read more

Haven't even tried this company; all I did was fill out a "win free windows" form at a county fair and now I'm getting phone calls from several numbers at least once a week despite asking them not to call me anymore. One salesperson asked, rather rudely, "why did you request an estimate then?" I told him about the contest form at the county fair, and that I had not requested an estimate, and asked to be removed from their list. That was in early August, and now it's mid-October. These folks are relentless. I was thinking I was overreacting but some of the other reviews tell me I'm not. We just completed window replacement for our entire home and I'm glad we chose Ameritech. We researched several companies, settled on three and only Ameritech came to our home equipped with samples. The other companies brought brochures, but how can you tell how a window is going to look and function without getting hands on? The installers were pros. Don, a seasoned craftsman, measured our windows with absolute precision. When our custom windows were ready, he and his install team arrived promptly at 8:30 am, cleaned up at the end of each day (it took two days to install), and were able to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot some quirks in our 1923 bungalow. Our windows look amazing!!! The product, Bristol Windows, is high quality and meets our requirements for energy efficiency, appearance, and security. These are not cheap windows and thus require a little consumer education to justify the cost. That education takes time and thus probably the reason for the low yelp ratings. Instead of focusing on the sales pitch, I'd suggest thinking about the final product: the window. I don't intend on going through this process more than once. I think 90 minutes of my time is worth it. read more

I had the same experience as other Yelpers - I wish I had read these reviews first! When attempting to make an appointment, and when confirming the appointment, I was told my husband (how they even knew my husband by name is very interesting because I never even mentioned he existed to them) would have to be present for an estimate. Like the other reviewers, I was not to be trusted with the decision by myself. I was told the reason for this is that while the estimate is free, the sales rep is paid for the visit by the company - they require all homeowners to be present so that they don't have to make multiple trips to the home in order to make a sale. I get it, but why not offer the first estimate as free and charge for any subsequent visits? I felt the two men I spoke with Ben and Ron, were very unapologetic and refused to meet me without my husband present, so I cancelled altogether. We will be taking our money ($$$$) elsewhere to a more professional company who trust their customers. I also find it very telling that none of the Yelp reviews actually review the Ameritech products - because their upfront customer service is so horrible! read more

If you are military, a veteran, or a senior citizen, I highly suggest you do not use this company. If you do use them, do not pay them until they complete the job to your satisfaction . They have no integrity, customer satisfaction is non-existent, and they do not care about customer service. The salesman promised the world, but I am so disappointed that I am compelled to complain. I am a disabled veteran and senior citizen and used my retirement funds to the tune of $40K to get new windows and doors installed in my house. I was told it would take two days to install the windows, it too 10. I was told the windows and everything else would be clean before the installer left, wrong. They did an amateur job of installing the doors and did nothing to hide the damaged trim, because they don't do finish work They will threaten you with legal action and warranty cancellation if you complain about them. They installed the wrong door in my living room and told me it would take 30 days to get the right one. Six months later, they installed another door that looks like crap and is literally nothing but two doors screwed together. So I am left with dirty windows, a amateur door installation, a door I do not want and a company who is trying its best to ignore me. So friends, you may want to rethink using a company that will rip off a disabled veteran, senior citizen and his wife. If it were possible, I would not give them any stars. read more

We've dealt with other window companies and always felt like we were getting hustled. In this case were pleasantly surprised. "FREE QUOTE" REALLY MEANS LONG-WINDED, HIGH-PRESSURE SALES PITCH WHERE THEY WANT YOU TO SIGN ON THE SPOT. Couldn't agree more with the other reviews on the fact that they weirdly kept bringing up the question of whether there was a husband involved while trying to schedule the original quote meeting at the festival and then again on the phone. The 90 minute presentation mostly consisted of bashing other window companies' warranties (never actually saw the Ameritech warranty) and the rest was selling me on the triple-pane window model. The salesman was nice but then when it came time for the final quote, things got weird. The quote came in way over my budget, I told him I wanted to think about it and that I don't make any decisions on the spot. He tried bringing the price down slightly, but when I continued to say I want to think about it, he abruptly packed up his stuff and left. He wouldn't even leave the estimate or any brochures/literature. Don't waste your time with this company! **UPDATE** A few weeks after this incident and I am getting calls multiple times a day from (303) 545-0004, which comes up as "Colorado Energy Concepts". When I called the number back, the Ameritech Windows guy answered. So now I am getting spam calls from this company and they are disguising themselves as a different company?!? So my husband and I met with their sales rep and had two very different experiences. My husband thought the guy did a great job but I was ready to toss this guy out of my house. We have a 2 yr and 5 month old and they need attention. The "60-90" min sales pitch took almost 4 (yes 4!) hours. I had to entertain a toddler and nurse a baby and this guy needed me to hang off his every word. my husband was there listening, why can't you roll with the punches and I'll do my best to listen in between diapers and screaming baby. When I was trying to put dinner on a plate for a toddler (30minutes late) he wanted me to feel how well heat went through different grades of glass windows sold. I told him that I really needed to feed my daughter and it was not a good time. He got uppity with me and he said fine he'll wait. He had already been at my house for 2 hours and I was over it. I didn't want to feel the glass at that point, I believe you that triple pane lets in little to no heat. He would not give us the estimate until he had trashed all of his competitors for at least half of his presention (trying to make you feel scared or stupid to buy from anyone else). He was high pressure, talked down to us, and rude. I pleaded with him at one point that it had been 3 hours and I was tired. (remember when I said he had been at my house for 4 hours? I still had another hour to go) He then turn it around on me that he was doing us the favor and he needed to get all the way through his presentation. All I wanted to do was chucked this guy out of my house if he didn't start showing me numbers. Timeline of my 60-90 appointment Start 5 (he was 10minutes late) 7pm finally went ahead a fed my daughter because he wasn't showing signs if stopping 7:30 put her to bed. 8ish started to really complain about the length of this meeting and that I was tired. 8:45 went upstairs to talk alone about the deal with my husband because he wouldn't leave without an answer 9ish I refused to come down and participate in this aggressive sales meeting anymore. This appt was for one of our rental houses that I owned pre-marriage. My husband could care less. We had an appointment with an Ameritech rep on 1/10/12. The reason why they need both of you is because the agenda is to sell you their product at your first appointment. When they schedule, they indicate that the appointment will take 60-90 minutes, the rep was in our house 2.5 hours!!! After we declined to close the deal that night the sales rep got very agitated with us, became very unprofessional, was yelling out "Fine! You don't want to buy my windows, that's fine!". And then kept repeating that he would like to stay friends... Very immature, childish and crazy behavior. We were a "maybe" in the beginning of that appointment but after what happened we would NEVER consider going with this company! read more

I agree with the previous comments on here, it was really strange customer service trying to make an appointment. The rep started by saying "we contacted your husband yesterday and it sounded like..." First off, I was the one who submitted the interest and no one else was contacted. And then when I corrected him by using the term "partner" and offered a different day because we were out of town, he said "I already know how this is going to play out..." which caught me off guard because I have no clue what that means. He tried to apologize by saying "sorry if he's not your husband, is it your boyfriend? " which seemed even more irrelevant. I understand pre screening people to see if they are qualified, but it's seemed like they definitely have a bias against women, and apparently domestic partnerships aren't important enough for them to do business with. Be warned. They need to teach their employees how to talk to people. read more

I was at the Sloans Lake Music and Art fair today and they had a booth there. I need new windows in the home I own and so decided I should talk to them to set up an appointment to get an estimate. The woman I was speaking to was nice as we were setting up the appointment yet kept insisting that my "husband" be there for the quote. First, I was not wearing a wedding ring and I do not have a "husband." She was pretty persistent about my husband being there! Come on! It's 2017! You are selling me your windows, what does your warranty say?! Oh, he only had one copy of their warranty and wouldn't let me see it. Very shady and would not give me a straight price for actually material cost of the windows. After 2.5 hours of reading to us and showing what a blow dryer does to a window, I had to ask him to email the estimate to which he replied their company simply isn't set up for email, which I didn't believe for a second. So I asked him to leave TWICE as our daughter's bed time was already 30 minutes past when it was supposed to be and he tried talking to us for another 20 minutes before he finally left. read more

I can understand some bad reviews about sales reps but we had a good relationship with the rep that came to our house. We did the windows in installments. We did 7 right off the bat and then added a few more each year. Our rep Scott kept up with us the whole time to make sure we were happy with the windows and doors. You don't usually see that sort of service after you make a purchase like this. When we moved a few months back, all the windows had a fully transferable guarantee so I think it also helped us to sell the house. read more
