Do yourself a favor and skip on dessert and whatever local restaurant you are having dinner and come for gelato at Amici's instead. That's what my friend and I did after dinner and it was the best decision we could've made The service was amazing. The woman who worked there was very helpful and offered us as many tastings as we needed in order to choose our flavors We decided to share 4 flavors in total, pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate banana sorbet, and the Italian cherry cheesecake. The employee who helped us suggested the cherry cheesecake and she was not wrong. That had to be the best gelato I've ever had. Every flavor was truly very special and the texture was so smooth and luxurious. Unfortunately, we were too anxious to eat our sweet treats so I didn't get a photo but if I am ever in the area again I will absolutely be stopping by for a couple of scoops. I am not lying when I say this: I have come back 3 years in a row from across the country with eating this gelato being a major goal of my travels. It's game changing every time. The service is great: they've always been so kind to me and my loved ones and I often leave a bit giddy because I've never tasted anything so rich and delicious. Bottom line: Amici has some delicious selections, my cookie and latte hit the spot. Be aware that at the time of my visit, prices are not displayed on menus. The Deets: I found out about Amici on a recent visit in Asbury Park and decided to give them a go for a coffee break. I stopped in and liked the look/atmosphere, very clean with mostly stark black/white cafe look that was very charming. Lots of delicious looking treats to consider looking through the glass with gelato, baked goods, etc. and then coffee drinks as well. I opted for the chocolate chip cookie to accompany my latte. Note that they have a few milk alternatives available for coffee beverages but alas, no skim milk offering for a skim latte...I went with whole milk then. The latte was great and the cookie was wonderful, nice and chewy, not crumbly and hard so it tasted fresh. I did notice when ordering and also looking at their printed menu (and I see others have mentioned) that there are no prices displayed currently at the time of this visit, see pics. It did throw me off a bit, thinking when the prices looked erased that maybe they could not offer the latte drinks etc. until I asked for my choices at the register. I do feel that if you are going to charge a price, then stand by it and display the price to the customer so they can be informed about their purchase (unlike some type of exclusive or expensive restaurants I have seen). Otherwise, a nice cafe environment with tasty cookie/latte break...delicious selections on my visit. read more

Gelato is delicious. Flavor and consistency are spot on. However, portions were ridiculous. Myself & my two kids each ordered 2 flavors. My kids got cups and each scoop was a half scoop. I hop into this little gem when I can. They always have great flavors. I'm more of a sorbet girl but went with the lasted gelato flavor "Apple Pie" and oh my, it did not disappoint. After a sample I grab a scoop to go. I also picked up a classic cannoli because, why not. This place is amazing! I feel like I stepped into another time and place coming here. It's like what I imagine a gelato cafe in an Italian city is like. When picking up your order in the caffe, your eyes will be pleased by the cute black and white checkered tiles and the overall theme of the place. Their gelato is creamy, rich and full of love. I got a scoop of the dark chocolate and a scoop of the s'mores. It's as close to heaven as you can get. Though slightly pricey, it's definitely worth it. The gelato is smooth and delivers full flavors without feeling too heavy or creamy (it is, but not in a bad way).... as they're supposed to be. Tried some cannoli with killer crunchy shells and fillings, and just one pistachio in choco dip biscotti as an afternoon snack. Umbrellas shade the tables outside. Maybe we were lucky, but on a Sunday afternoon, we were able to find parking right across the street and walk around the block and enjoy the cool breeze. I love this gelateria!!! Every time my boyfriend and I are in Asbury, we can't wait to check out Amici. My boyfriend is from Italy and says the tiramisu tastes authentic and enjoys getting it each time we go. I personally love the cookies and gelato. Today I ordered the pistachio raspberry ricotta and coconut cookie gelato and they were both amazing. They truly taste homemade and with high quality ingredients. We love Amici! As soon as you walk in, it's like walking being in a classic Italian Cafe with the black and white color theme and beautiful tile. Their coffee is the best in Asbury Park and the Gelato is always fresh with a perfect variety of flavors. We actually pass on coffee and dessert when we are having dinner in Asbury so that we can go to Amici afterward and have some gelato and lattes. Can't wait to try their egg sandwiches soon. So I was in Asbury with my girlfriend and dogs because it was a beautiful April day. We decided to grab dinner and went to a spot on Mattison Ave. While waiting for our table we were standing in front of Amici's. It was a Tuesday so they were closed but the owner passed us and went inside. He came out with a cookie and a gelato pop and gave it to us. The cookie was awesome but the gelato pop was even better. It was a chocolate gelato pop which was delicious because it was not overly sweet. Awesome! Can't wait to try this spot again.
