Started with the Fried trio and the mozzarella was the best part. Excellent marinara. The veal Amici was tender and flavorful with the pappardelle perfectly cooked. Husband had the fruitti de mar made "dumbed down" (less spicy) was nice. What topped the whole experience was John, our server. It was his first night working at Amici's but clearly not his first night making guest experiences special. The perfect blend of attentiveness and charm. I wish I read the reviews BEFORE I went ... It was terrible!! The only thing I would recommend is the toasty toast (garlic bread). The veal parm was dry and only 1 piece! Warm, Welcoming, and Delicious Visited Amici's Italian Bistro while in town for business and was immediately greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The atmosphere has real charm--checked tablecloths and an old-school vibe that feels cozy and inviting. My server Abby, was fantastic! She was friendly, funny, and clearly knew the menu well. Her recommendation to start with the fresh bread was spot-on! Hot from the oven and melt-in-your-mouth good. I tried the "Godfather Fashion" from the drink menu. A little sweet for my taste, but a creative twist on the classic that many will enjoy. Dinner was the Chicken Amici's: breaded chicken with provolone and mushrooms in a sweet Marsala sauce over pappardelle pasta. Rich, flavorful, and very filling. Bread was under cooked and gooey, the serving size was a joke. 2 slices of eggplant which was pasty. The sauce was loaded woth waaay to much oregano. 1/8 of a pound of pasta for 20 bucks! Go to the super market and buy a jar of Victoria or Raos sauce, get some frozen pre cooked eggplant slices, layer in a pan with alternating sauce and mozzarella cheese and it will be a hundred times better than this trash. The Family and I had just left a back to school bash at Cathedral Academy. The place we normally go for Italian Food is right next to the house and right next to our daughter's school, but they are closed on Tuesdays. We decided to visit Amici's in person. We've ordered several times online through food delivery service. It was always very good but we never wanted to try driving that far out from home. We are very glad that we made that decision. From the time that we were greeted at the entrance by the Owner, Jennifer to the time we left, we were happily surprised how everything went. We had the Mozzarella Fritti appetizer (nothing like frozen mozzarella sticks) and everyone inhaled them. Their table bread is also very good, no oil needed. The kids got spaghetti and meatballs, both large portions and very good quality. My Wife got the Sausage Ziti and I got the Veal Parmesan with Fettuccine Alfredo. The meal and service was excellent and we will not only come back, we will bring visitors next time. Thanks again for a great night. I hate to write this review because this is my favorite restaurant. My husband and I have been to this restaurant many times and have always loved it. The last time we were there, we arrived at 8:05. The restaurant closed at 9 and the server asked us to close out our bill. We did but we stayed to finish our wine. At 9:15 we were asked to leave by the owner. I was quite surprised because we have never been to a restaurant where we were asked to leave. We were ready to go anyway. Because of it being such an embarrassment, we will not return. I really don't love writing reviews like this on a mom n pop business, but the food here was both terrible and overpriced. My spaghetti and meatballs, only 2 medium meatballs for $20 with overcooked spaghetti, weak sauce, and the meatballs had that ultra fine ground and jiggly texture of a factory made meatball. The bruschetta was just some chopped onion and tomato with balsamic vinegar on basic bread that wasn't very good, it was like store bought white bread. House salad was some scraps of lettuce and a tomato or two. Almost $110 for me and two of my kids to eat this. Service was fine. Decor was plastic plants. Food was very good and so was the service. But what irritated me was that they charged $4 for extra meat sauce and $2 for tomato sauce, about 2-3 ounces. Looks like an old school Pizza Hut. The food at Olive Garden is plated better and is more visually appealing. Probably more authentic, too, and that is an incredibly sad thing to have to say. Worse- the food at Olive Garden is better. Except for the bread. OG has crap bread. Amici's is better. There is nothing, not-a-thing, "authentically Italian" about this restaurant. They might be able to say "clichéd Italian" or "New York Italian" or even "American faux Italian." I am not Italian. I have never lived there. I have only been to Italy five times and I have never seen nor tasted food like this there and I will forever be grateful. Stay home and make a Stouffer's lasagna. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance is that of a small Bistro with Italian music playing in the background . Table tops have red and white clothes cover with a piece of glass. Parking is limited to about 10 space, So you have to park next door or across the street. The food was average nothing to really talk about. The chicken Marsala had a white cream sauce, which is really different from the normal red-brown sauce you might find at other restaurants. It came with a very tasteless Marsala sauce on top that tasted like Fettuccine White sauce. The chicken itself had a ghost flavor but it was overcooked and some fatty gristle . The bread was tasty. Not that impressed with the food. Prices were average for this type of restaurant. Not sure if I would recommend this establishment. My wife and I arrived in Charleston and got set up a little later than normal. Checking on Yelp. We decided Italian was on the menu for tonight. We are very happy that we stopped at the spot! The interior, and somewhat exterior, does little to show how good the food is. My wife and I started with cocktails. Our bartender knew how to make a Negroni without any issue! For an appetizer we decided on the trio of appetizers! It was a lovely assortment of fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks, and Caprese salad. The only thing odd was that There seem to be spinach instead of basil for the Caprese salad. I decided on a special that they had going on, salmon piccata. My wife decide on the build your own pasta, spaghetti, Bolognese. The dishes came out relatively quickly, and we're absolutely delicious! We chased it all down with a nice bottle of unshackled Prisoner. There's a lot of worse places one could be, we're so happy we lucked out finding a spot as good as this! Such a nostalgic local gem. My husband is from NYC and this felt so familiar in its decor, menu, and service. I felt they offered a real value with nice portions of high quality food. Loved the fresh bread and salads. Nice wines by the glass, we had the Meomi Pinot and recommend it! The gnocchi with carbonara and shrimp was decadent and divine. The chicken parm was delicious, but I might ask to change the pasta sauce next time.The marinara was a bit acidic for our taste (but we still enjoyed it). We went here last weekend and it was excellent. I had fried ravioli for an appetizer and my husband and a friend got calamari. We all were impressed with the food. For the main course, I had lasagna, hubby ordered chicken Alfredo and our friend chose baked ziti. We again were very impressed. The service was excellent, very good and timely. The ambiance is perfect with the red checkered table cloths and Christmas music softly playing. None of us had ever been there before and we were happy with our visit. They only for a 1 because I could not leave a zero. First there was no salad because the truck didn't come in. We order the Brustta that had old musty tomatoes. And the Mozzarella was so over fried that the mozzarella was all cooked out of it. The meal came and I sent back my Chicken Parm as it tasted like it was reheated and I sent it back and did not reorder anything. My other dinner guest also were not satisfied with their pre heated food either. The sad thing is that we went there to try them as we are Italian and We looking for. Good place to take my mom and brother for their BIrthday. I heard the ad on a radio station that describes Amici's as good as Nonna's. Nonna would never have served that. We tried this place when we were in Charleston on vacation. It's got an old time Italian vibe with red and white checkered tablecloths. We were greeted promptly and seated. The staff was friendly. We ordered the fried ravioli to start and they seemed a little dry. The salad was basic, but fine. The bread was fine. The husband ordered the chicken Ciara and he said it was good. I ordered the chicken caprese. It didn't say anything about a pasta, but it was served on what I think was homemade pappardelle that was super thin. The chicken was breaded and really thick and moist. I wish I could cook chicken like that! But the sauce was phenomenal. I am obsessed with that white wine cream sauce!!! We finished with the tiramisu, which looked a little different than others I've had, but it was really good and a great finish. If we were in town longer I would have gone back yo try other things. We almost didn't go because of reviews we read. So happy I didn't listen to them. my mission in life will be to re-create that sauce once I make it back home! Wonderful service, amazing fresh food, and the owner checked to see if we were satisfied personally. Some of the best service and food we've had in a very, very, very long time. Amici's is the absolute best accidental find in Charleston. I have recently found this great place to enjoy dinners and the atmosphere. The food is all top notch. I've enjoyed the Veal Parmigiana and loved it. recently I tried the Chicken Amici and let me tell you. I've never enjoyed my dinner as much in any Italian restaurant in New York City. Okay y'all... we finally did a thing today! We finallyyyyyy tried Amici's in North Charleston. And I'm not lying, I've had my share of lots of places known for their Italian and have left needing more. Well let me just tell you... this place did not disappoint. I will definitely need to do alll the things tomorrow to burn off all the food we ate. But seriously it was worth all of it and we'd do it again, and honestly we cannot wait to go back! We started off with their version of a charcuterie board and let me just tell you, lactose intolerant or not I ate more than half the cheese!! It was all wicked fresh, melt in your mouth meats and cheeses with some amazing olives and peppers. Then onto the main(s) my husband and I ordered the Veal Parm and the Veal Marsala (both with either a soup or salad) and oh man the parm was delicious, don't get me wrong but that Marsala it melted in our mouths and our sons (2.5 year old) hands haha and normally we never do dessert but we packed a little of our meals and ordered the Tiramisu and again, we've both tried this at other places but it was sooo good! Anyways, while waiting for our food, my girl Christine England showed up to meet the owner of Lodi Coffee Drive-Thru another fav of ours! And obviously Jen (the owner) showed up at our table to see how everybody was doing, cause she's that type of owner. And funny but true, as we walked out, my husband was like babe you act like you just saw movie stars, you're like star struck lollll but that's just me and my love for FOOD and my food loving peeps. Up until the last 5 minutes of us being there it was, and then I discovered this isn't a family friendly restaurant. the food was fantastic, service was slow but they only had two waitresses and the owner who was hosting so we understood. It took a reasonable amount of time to get our food from the time we ordered. It was my birthday, and they did give me a slice of cake with a candle. Overall would rate that experience 4/5 mainly because just service was slow. And I noticed the owner seemed a bit annoyed that we needed a highchair when we first came in. Where my problem came in was 5 minutes before we were leaving the owner rudely came up and told us we needed to clean up the floor after our 17 month old had ate. I get it's frustrating having to pick up when a baby eats, but expect babies to make messes, and when she posts on Facebook about her grandchildren she adores so much and pictures of them you'd think she understand. She didn't provide a broom for us to sweep the ground, a vacuum to vacuum up the floor. I had to on my birthday, after paying $70 for dinner get on my hands and knees and pick up the floor. And if it hadn't been for that experience I would have given 4 stars. But because of this we won't be returning, and I will be mentioning at the next military spouses meeting to avoid this place. read more

We visited based on a recommendation from a friend. All of the staff was friendly. We had a new server who was very nice. The antipasto board that we ordered for an app was legit: pepperoni, prosciutto, sweet peppers, and burrata. Husband got the linguine pescatore, I had the chicken Amicis, and our son had buttered noodles. My dish was just okay. The chicken had kind of a processed texture so I think next time I'll try something different. Not many seats so you need to get there early. My biggest gripe was our wait time for food. Beginning to end we were there an hour and a half. I think our waitress was just new and overwhelmed because the table behind us ate and left with a different server.
