But this time, this heavy set Mexican guy who can barely speak a word of English came out and told me to put the car in and he scan the car. He didn't even hook up the machine to the car and gave me a piece of paper says it failed. No explanations, nothing. When I was standing inside. He started scanning all these weird barcodes on the side of his stations and turned his station around so I can't see what he was doing. He gave me dirty looks and started getting mad. I had to pay this guy for not doing any work. Don't trust this guy, scam, and he will do anything possible to fail your car. He is a very sneaky, scandalous guy. He is very prejudice, discrimination. Quick and no hassles I was going to spend a couple of weeks in Nevada and had to get my car's registration renewed before I left California. This place is a scam shop-dishonest. DON'T GO there ! No valid business license or state smog/star registration#/cert displayed anywhere, a very run-down place ! I later found that the guy's smog license expires on 8/31/2021. He said my vehicle did not pass after he ran the charge on my card. But he did not even connect the machine to my vehicle. The guy told me not to stay inside watching him while he work. After I stayed out and waited over 20 mins, he then told me it's done and asked me to pay. I asked him why failed, he said he doesn't know but the print out showed not ready. My car just completed full service on the same week before I took in & had absolutely no problem. The guy got upset and threatening me to lien my car if I don't pay. They very next day, I took my vehicle to another Smog check in the same city, all passed without any problem. I later on found out this is not the first time the guy pulled the same trick and situation had been reported by several others as well. read more

The guy at the office was very polite but the technician was rude, rude, RUDE. There is a coupon on the website there's a $10 off coupon the moment I showed him it, he raised the price. There was a problem with the machine when we arrived. We waited about 20 minutes then left to eat lunch. When we got back we went right in for the check. The mechanic and the guy who gets your paperwork work ready for the check were okay. The mechanic was more personable, though. There was confusion for awhile when they couldn't find the dmv paperwork that was with my information. The smog check was $43 for my SUV. That included a senior discount. So it wasn't an easy service because of the wait at first and then not knowing where my DMV paperwork was. read more

We received a cordial greeting from the tech and he proceeded with the inspection while my Dad filled out the invoice name, address....... But they wanted to charge $78.00 for a smog check!!! thats a rip off. i thought it would be more convinient to stop and do the smog check here in barstow since i work here but i rather go to all star smog check in victorville of off anacapa rd were they charge 40.00 and have you in and out in 15 minutes. here in barstow they said because they needed to do something extra thats why it was $78.00 the smog check is a SMOG CHECK! they dont do anything extra. only diference is when its in a check only or star approved location. that place is aproved by the DMV and must be inspected there and no other smog check place thats not approved. bad news the guy attached a clamp to my spark plug wire then disconnected the test while running tells me the computer needs reset did not pass!!! then has me doing some running around after I paid him 43dlls next day he tries to bill me 65 dlls more a tells me it will pass mmmm so I told him no I'm waiting to drive my car 300 miles to reset computer and guess what it passed the test after I forked out 33 more bucks fishy ass people!!!! no need to attached clamp on spark plug wire!! is just on emission test I think he reset the computer fishy fishy crooked shop read more

Took my Jeep Cherokee in for a smog check at Amigo's. It has a C.A.R.B. approved aftermarket air cleaner and they couldn't find the sticker on it showing it's OK in California. It failed because they thought the air cleaner was not legal, otherwise it passed with flying colors. I took it back the next day and showed them where the sticker was that they missed. They told me that they had to re-test it. (no charge) -- This time it did not come anywhere close to passing. 5 times more CO at idle than the previous day. Hmmmm -- I was told that they could make the necessary "adjustments" to make it pass for a fee. ----- There are no adjustments to be made. It's all computer controlled. Needless to say, I did not have them make any "adjustments". I will take it elsewhere tomorrow and I'm sure it will pass just fine like it did yesterday. -------- They lost all future business from me. ---- Definitely would not recommend! read more
