Came here cause I ran over some glass at a gas station I looked to make sure my tire was ok and sure enough there was big chunks of glass in it, it was 6:20pm I was driving from Napa to Richmond and I was so scared my tire was gonna pop or something worse! I came here at the recommendation of a friend and after reading some Yelp reviews. Summary - not highly impressed but not downright angry. 2.5 stars if I could. Normally I go to D&D Tires down the street a few minutes, but it was Sunday morning and Amigo was open first and I needed to get on with my day. I had three VERY bad condition tires. I'd hoped Amigo would have something new or used in the two size options I could have accepted and bought four of. But the young guy that helped me thought for a minute.....and said no. Dude, you've got three trillion tires in here. How about at least going to look. No one in here but you, me and your buddy. Fortunately a friend of mine had two brand new tires in a size I could use and sold them to me at his cost. I came back to get two of the three bad tires replaced. They got me in the door and the changing process started relatively quickly. This I appreciate. What I didn't care for was 1) they used a pneumatic gun to put the lug nuts back on at a high pressure and did not check the work with a torque wrench, 2) on each wheel, 1 out of 5 nuts were loose, 3) the pressure difference between the two tires was 4lbs, 4) no receipt - the guy just took my $40 and walked away (I guess he was paying attention though as when I was backing out, suddenly he was there to signal when traffic was clear). Every time I've been to D&D I was given a receipt, no questions asked. They (in my experiences) used a lower pneumatic pressure and then a torque wrench for the final. And tire pressures were within 1lb. Will I come back to Amigo? Maybe. I don't feel I got burned or anything. I just had a little bit higher expectations. read more

Went in for a simple tire patch they remove the tire didn't balance it they claim because they mark the tire and place it back close to how it was the tire won't need rebalancing when I ask them to relevance it they wanted to change me an extra fee witch seem ridiculous the tech they had working on my tire wasn't even able to remove the tire of the wheel causing a few scratches on my wheel do to the metal sticks they used and are not careful with and instead of making the costumer happy the techs and the owner prefer to argue then to reason with the client I guess they rather loose business instead of gaining it but anyways I will never bring any of my cars here again read more

Last night bf blew and shredded the right rear of his Accord. We knew we needed to replace it and we had very limited choices of places to go to and get the job done..especially on a Sunday of all days! Most tire shops are closed Sunday..in fact allot is closed on Sunday. Holding on a very tight purse here..I can definitely go with used tires since my left rear is half way there already.I had two choices which were close to our location and the other was Richmond Tires.. When called for pricing on used tires Richmond was $5 bucks more. So we went to these guys.. Service was quick and I was amazed at how efficient the staff were for such a small place. Neighborhood is safe (for those who are not from this side of the woods). These guys got us in and out in less than 20 min. I know my tires and I know when your selling me something that's useless (for a female they would think they can pull one on me) but seriously these guys were good. I would recommend them and I would certainly come back again. WARNING WARNING WARNING!! DO NOT GO HERE. IGNORE THE GOOD RATINGS. I brought my car here to get a tire replaced. I got a used tire from them and they replaced it easily and quick. I paid cash and left. My light was still on but I only live a couple miles from there so I thought if I drive more it'll turn off. I get in my car late on Saturday and the light is still on. I try resetting my lights and it still comes on after a while of driving. So I bring my car back and they act like they don't remember me from a couple days ago and asking if I have a receipt even though I paid cash and they don't give receipts. So the owner comes in and does remember me and is very polite and tells the guys to inspect my tire and put a replacement on if needed. So that's what they do. They say it's all good and I'm on my way out. Tire light still on and I think it's all good. I drive to work the next day and the light is on the whole way to work. When I get out of work the tire is completely flat again. I drove safe, didn't hit any big pot holes or unusual bumps. So I put on my spare and drive back. The guys tells me my rim is bent and it was my fault not theirs. Offers to charge me more for a used tire. This is my 3rd time at this place in a week. I have a job to go to, I'm taking off work to deal with this.... Basically, just don't go here. Go to Costco or something and avoid this place. read more

I was unlucky to catch a screw in my rear tire (bimmer). I heard a faint flubbing while driving low speeds. My car tire pressure monitoring system showed I didn't lose air. I checked my tires and saw I had a screw in one, not close to the sidewall. I was very fortunate to be close to Amigo Tire. If I kept driving on this tire with a screw in it, I could've blown my tire. So these guys were a life saver. Honest people, very good value! Please go and support this business. They removed the screw, patched the tire from the inside, and I was in and out in 15min tops. They mentioned if you buy tires from them, and catch a nail within a certain period of time, they cover the cost to patch it if it is repairable. If I replace my tires, I'm definitely going with them. Couldn't recommend them any more strongly. read more

i needed new tires. Went to 4 different tire shops around Richmond trying to find the cheapest tire. My 2nd choice was Amigo tires, owner informed me that it was $300 out the door for new tires. I asked for cheaper, he recommended the tire shop near richmond high. They asked $330 for the same tires. I went further down Richmond and tire place informed me they would charge $360. I doubled back and went to Amigo Tires. I am the brand new owner of 4 new tires for $300 out the door. Thank you Amigo tires. Oh! did i tell you that there's a 6 month guarantee. Long story short- I noticed that my rear right tire was completely flat after grocery shopping, called AAA to put my spare on my tire on for me temporarily. Soon as Amigo's opened, I went to get my tire repaired and was literally there less than 15 minutes - it would've been quicker but someone was there before me. Upon complaining the situation the owner lied and he said he balanced the wheel where as other guy was working on my wheels all the time. When Luis, the owner is working with you, then this place is indeed a Five-Star shop! BUT, Luis is not always there, and his son takes over. In that case: the prices go up, and the work is done by one of the son's friends, and the service suffers accordingly. For example, I had tires done, and the wheels had spacers; most tire guys KNOW that you just have to work a little bit to 'center' the spacers... but not the son's buddie, who created a out-of-balance condition (above 70) as a result. Luis also knows to glue the weights and not just clip them to the outside edge of the rim. (If Luis is not at hand, I go elsewhere). read more

I came here because I was told they would repair tires that other places wont, just got brand new tires an rims so didn't wanna fork over another couple hundred bucks for another brand new tire. Long story short, I went here to get flat plugged an patched, and they scratched and took a piece of the polished aluminum lip right off my rim and said they didn't do it. They said looks like I hit a curb. Curb scrapes edge not inside of my rim lip or ding a piece of aluminum off. Stay away from this place if you have a nice car or nice rims you take care of. I'm still deciding if I wanna take this to small claims court. And there actually 5 bucks more to repair flats then all the other shops, don't see how everyone says there cheapest. read more
