My prior experience getting a new tire here was positive so when I needed my tires balanced I returned here. However, they didn't do the job correctly and wouldn't take responsibility for it. I know they didn't do it correctly because when Tires Direct balanced the tires it did not resolve the mild steering wheel vibration I was experiencing at speeds over 60 mph. When I took it to another shop (after Tires Direct supposedly balanced the tires), they reported that the RF wheel had an irregular weight pattern and was .75 oz out of balance and the LF wheel had no weights at all and was 2.75 oz out of balance (which is significant). The other shop balanced them with road force balancing and that solved the vibration issue. When I called Tires Direct to let them know about my experience, they became defensive and told me that the balancing numbers at every shop will be different and they did nothing wrong. Perhaps the numbers can vary, but the point was that whatever balancing they did, didn't actually fix the issue - so I wasted my money by going to them. read more

Went there yesterday with a damaged tire which, not surprisingly, could not be fixed. While I was waiting in the spacious waiting area, I checked Consumer Reports, chose a set of Michelins, checked the price at Costco. Tires Direct matched the Costco price within a few dollars, gave me a discount for cash and ordered the tires. Exactly as promised they called today to confirm they received the tires and they could install at 1 pm. The install and alignment took about two hours (as opposed to all day at Costco). They offer free repair of road damage in the tread and free rotation. I feel very lucky to have them nearby and I will likely use them for other work on my car. They are such nice guys too. read more

Took my car in to fix a leaking tire. I got there and the tech said it would take approximately 45 minutes. They were able to find the problem, which was of course a nail, and plug the tire. They also helped refill the air in my tires. This place was great! They also have a nice waiting room with lots of rims on display - if you're into that kind of thing. read more

Happened to be out near Albany avoiding the heat in Contra Costa with my regular go to for a full synthetic oil change on my 2011 Subaru Outback. Recently they bumped me up to $72+ for the oil change and filter service there. Went in an they were backed up and unable to see me for another 1.5 hours so I shopped on this way. My friend just got her Valpack and I used their $59.99 promo. Arrived the next day at my appointed time scheduled late afternoon the day previously with Ali and was seen right away. Was pointed to the waiting are that was very nice with functioning TV and Wifi availble with my behaved dog allowed. While waiting it was brought to my attention that my cabin air filter was disgustingly clogged, their sharing it with me to view that I did not expect in any way, not asking for the inspection or service. Along with the cabin filter recommendation, they checked my tire air pressure, inspected and provided results of my brake pad status AND topped off all my fluids. EVERYTHING over the oil and filter was extra service provided at NO charge and VERY appreciated for their effort. I am currently shopping for an alignment and was quoted a reasonable competitive quote for the full time 4X4 at $75. I'm still shopping for alignement quotes, but they are definitely the quote to beat based on price and service above and beyond in my oil change experience. Got a quote on Offer Up for x4 tires (225/50/18) and came in to get my tires replaced and prior to the service I took pictures of my wheels and after the tire replacement upon inspecting my wheels my fear was confirmed these guys are sloppy and don't take care of wheels, they use the air guns to torque down the wheels which is a no no (you need to use a torque wrench) they scratched the area around where the lug nuts fasten, also they scratched the inner well of my wheels to take off the wheel weights and pretty much only balanced the inside of the wheel. For the price I guess you really can't complain but honestly it's true when they say you get what you pay for. If you're meticulous about your stuff like me then I say pay now and go somewhere else. read more

Ok, well this was the place that I truly trusted and gave a five start review; however, they made a huge mistake that could have resulted in needing to buy a new car. I going to make a long story short and if anyone prefers to know the longer story let me know. I took my car in for an oil change and it ended up that they did not put all the oil in that was recommended (they've been changing my oil for a couple years). I had a second sense that something was wrong, checked my oil and found that I only had 1/8 inch of oil left. I called them and I was confused and not accusatory; however, the guy that I thought I had a good rapport with said, over the phone, that I "had a bad attitude". Wow, not only did they not put in enough oil for the oil change, he was rude to a valued customer. Don't know what else to say. . . needless to say, I'm no longer taking my car to them. I've been having issues with my Hyundai Elantra ever since it was stolen and recovered. I've taken my car which is a 2018 model to around 4 other mechanics including the San Leandro Hyundai Dealership and no one was able to find out what was wrong with my car because they didn't know how Korean cars work. The Hyundai dealership gave me a $8k quote which included $4k of parts and $4k of labor just so the car would stop turning off on me at stop signs and stop lights. Originally I had came into this store for new tires since they had the cheapest and best deals around but they told me they also do service and they could take a look to see what's wrong. Fast forward to now, the tires they gave me are great, beautiful, and super affordable! I ended up bringing the car back for a 4 wheel realignment since it drifts right a lot when driving and they told me they couldn't do it because of slight damage to one of the suspension. They also found the Reason my car kept idling so much and turning off on me. It turns out it needed a simple oil change!! These people have saved me thousands of dollars and they actually told me what is wrong with my car and not just try to make me buy a bunch of parts like the Hyundai Dealership (Thieves) and for that I am very greatfull! Best car service in the business in my opinion for how professional they are, speed, customer communication, and their Tegridy! Let's not mention their great tire deals too that brought me to them. They really should get no stars at all. Drove up all the way from Gilroy to put a deposit down on a set of rims and tires, Rokar said he could get. Then when I wanted to make sure they were the correct set of rims he said he wasn't sure he could get them. I asked so you want me to leave a deposit blindly he said well yeah.
