Took my Midwest husband here while we were in town for fights. And he got to eat REAL grits for the first time. He ordered Chicken and Waffles, and I just ordered side of grits with Cajun gravy and soft scrambled eggs. Eggs were not soft scrambled, but somehow that is always a big ask. That did not even matter though!!! Jazz was our server and she was amazing, the food was so damn good!!! The best chicken and waffles my husband has ever had, and grits that would put my Granny's to shame. Wish I would have taken pics first... But we devoured the plates! I normally eat like three bites from each thing we order, I was fighting my husband for the food until there was nothing left on any plate. If you are in Bossier/Shreveport area come here!!!!!! This is my new staple when here!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were able to check in and sit in our car but It was about an hour wait for a party of two we ended up getting a sampler of breakfast options, which turned out to be really good. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the cornbread waffle. It just came across really dry, not really loaded with flavor and the worst thing about the entire experience for me was plastic cutlery. The food is too rich or dense for Thin cheap cutlery either

She was friendly, professional, and could read our minds. She also didn't make fun of my partner for wanting A-1 on his CFS sammich. Atmosphere is great for everyone. Prices were lower than most. And parking was easy to find. We go to Shreveport every year and cannot believe we'd not come here sooner. We will not make that mistake again.

En route to Florida from Texas and after several road delays found ourselves in Shreveport at…read morelunchtime. A quick look at Yelp showed Strawn's Eat Shop listed at number one in diners locally. The inside is a mix of old timey and funky with lots of creative murals painted on the walls. We quickly received our drinks and ordered. Our waitress was outstanding but I didn't get her name. Our food was soon there and we dug in. My chicken fried steak was good but the mashed potatoes and cornbread were the stars. I'm not a big fan of salad or green beans but they were pretty good for vegetation. My wife enjoyed her catfish basket. She prefers cornmeal on catfish over flour breading and was pleased with the crispy cornmeal and the generous portion. Now for the main event. Pie! Strawn's is known for their strawberry pie and for good reason. It was the best strawberry pie that I have ever eaten. The whipped cream topping was transcendent and paired perfectly with the strawberries. My photo does not do this pie justice. My wife went with coconut pie and while it was very good the strawberry was the winner. Looking forward to returning to Straw's Eat Shop in the future.

Evidently it's the only one that doesn't have it but they brought us each a side. Salmon portion was generous and fresh. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Now those grits were some of the best I've ever had. The creaminess and the gouda put them over the top. The bacon was crisp and the cold tomato gave such textural excellence Service was excellent! Thanks Dalton! The place was clean but very cold. Bring a jacket.

When I go to ask, the rude hostess with a septum ring piercing tells me that she just doesn't know what happened and she doesn't know what she's going to do about it. I left after waiting for her to stop staring at the screen trying to figure out what to do. Do not go here if you value your time or your wallet, because the food's overpriced and not that good anyway.

I ordered it via doordash, although i think anything ordered from there suffers from the delay you sometimes get. Not so here! Wow, this place is doing everything right-- the biscuits are each a MEAL. I had already set out the salt shaker and pepper grinder for the gravy, but not necessary! Seasoning in the gravy is spot on, the sausage is sweet and salty and perfect. Biscuits are fluffy, ha-yuge and crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. This just became our regular Sunday brunch. Sorry, Torchy's! Thank you!
