Nice fella cooking and helped us with the menu. It's a real small place, but everything was fresh. Bold flavors that paired well. It's not to far out of the realm of normal if your looking to try something new but your not super adventurous, you will be ok here. Place was not busy and out food was ready quickly. Worth a try!

It's a hidden gem, which has a welcome atmosphere and the food is very good. Something different rather than the chain resturants which are all the same with no excitement or flavor

Amazing food and service. We were on our way out of town and stopped in for lunch and I am so glad we did. We ordered a sampler platter, and few arepas. We ended up ordering a sampler platter for the road as it was so delicious. The staff were extremely friendly, and helpful. My husband travels to Shreveport for military drill every month and said he will definitely be back here.

All the way from AnchAlaska to enjoy the most delicious Venezuelan food in Louisiana. It felt just like home and had a great conversation with the lovely owners. We had tequeños, asado negro, and the criollo breakfast. We'll definitely be back!

So we decided to stop in for a late lunch. The staff were so kind, we came in about an hour before they closed!!! The food was amazing!!! The restaurant was clean and well put together! Will definitely return!!

Notice how lovely their entry is, so inviting! They even have a QR code at the door! Awesome restaurant, food, atmosphere and service!

We are So Excited to discover Miami Latin Kitchen! Oh what an answer to our prayers to finally find homemade, man-sized, delicious, perfectly seasoned and authentic empanadas! We were driving around, looking on Waze but we couldn't find the location. Then the next day we tried again and when we saw the orange chairs outside, we couldn't wait to go inside the lovely restaurant! It is so clean, beautiful with a warm welcoming atmosphere, and comfortable seating with beautiful food, wonderful staff and scenic entertainment too! Both the lady and the man who waited on us were so kind and professional as they offered us a taste test of a mini pork sandwich and a bit of yummy cinnamon rice pudding while we waited for our order of three corn empanadas of #21, 23 and 24, see the chart below. WOW each empanada, or as some Louisianans call them, meat pie, was so scrumptious, man-sized and large that we cut them in half so we could enjoy more the next day! We also saw sweet tea and lemonade as well as other drink options while we waited comfortably at a lovely table, watching the soccer game, then beautiful scenery from Venezuela. They serve breakfast, lunch and brunch. Check them out! You won't regret it! Thanks, Miami Latin Kitchen! 21. Pabellon: Shredded beef, plantain, black beans and cheese 8.99 22. Shredded beef 23. Every kind of empanada we enjoyed on other trips, with both corn and wheat options and all kinds of fillings, from bacon, pork, chicken, cheese and beef. Oh and everything we ordered was so very mouthwatering that we will definitely be back for more!

Owners were nice. Food was good. The Cuban sandwich used a pork chop instead of sliced pork. I had not seen that before.

The room was beautiful in a quiet, elegant way, thoughtfully put together, warm and welcoming. And the people... every single waitress greeted us with kindness, but Miss Tammy -- oh, she was something special. The kind of person who makes you feel like you've known her forever. So sweet, so genuine, the kind of service you don't forget. The food came out and from the very first bite, it was clear this was a place that cooks with love. The eggs, the omelet, the French toast -- everything tasted like comfort. And then there was the millionaire bacon -- perfectly caramelized with brown sugar and just a touch of chili flakes. Sweet, smoky, with a gentle heat that teased your taste buds like heaven. Absolutely unforgettable. The portions were generous in the best way, and the prices were more than fair, especially for a breakfast that leaves you full and happy. But listen... the coffee. That coffee wrapped around you like a warm blanket. And then came the meat pies -- crispy, flavorful, absolutely unforgettable. Paired with those potatoes -- golden and crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside -- perfectly made, just the way they should be. The owner was there today too, sitting with friends, laughing and enjoying himself, and somehow that made the place feel even more real -- like you were stepping into a slice of everyday life, not just a restaurant. If you're looking for a true southern breakfast, a place with heart, warmth, and soul -- this is it. This is where you go when you want to feel something, not just eat. We'll be back. Without a doubt. And Miss Tammy -- thank you. You made the day brighter than you know.

A quick look at Yelp showed Strawn's Eat Shop listed at number one in diners locally. The inside is a mix of old timey and funky with lots of creative murals painted on the walls. We quickly received our drinks and ordered. Our waitress was outstanding but I didn't get her name. Our food was soon there and we dug in. My chicken fried steak was good but the mashed potatoes and cornbread were the stars. I'm not a big fan of salad or green beans but they were pretty good for vegetation. My wife enjoyed her catfish basket. She prefers cornmeal on catfish over flour breading and was pleased with the crispy cornmeal and the generous portion. Now for the main event. Pie! Strawn's is known for their strawberry pie and for good reason. It was the best strawberry pie that I have ever eaten. The whipped cream topping was transcendent and paired perfectly with the strawberries. My photo does not do this pie justice. My wife went with coconut pie and while it was very good the strawberry was the winner. Looking forward to returning to Straw's Eat Shop in the future.

I ordered it via doordash, although i think anything ordered from there suffers from the delay you sometimes get. Not so here! Wow, this place is doing everything right-- the biscuits are each a MEAL. I had already set out the salt shaker and pepper grinder for the gravy, but not necessary! Seasoning in the gravy is spot on, the sausage is sweet and salty and perfect. Biscuits are fluffy, ha-yuge and crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. This just became our regular Sunday brunch. Sorry, Torchy's! Thank you!

My sandwich had ham egg and cheese with honey mustard. The honey mustard was so overpowering that's all I could taste. My boyfriend got a seasoned tot. It was an over cooked hash brown like a McDonald's hash brown and he couldn't taste any seasoning. The only part of either meal that was enjoyable was a scoop of mushrooms. Overall the food tasted bad enough that the taste lasted beyond leaving the restaurant. I loved the atmosphere and quirkiness of this place and wanted it to be my go to place, but I will not return.
