Some places don't just feed you -- they stay with you. Today I walked into this little restaurant and instantly felt at ease, like it was already familiar somehow. The room was beautiful in a quiet, elegant way, thoughtfully put together, warm and welcoming. And the people... every single waitress greeted us with kindness, but Miss Tammy -- oh, she was something special. The kind of person who makes you feel like you've known her forever. So sweet, so genuine, the kind of service you don't forget. The food came out and from the very first bite, it was clear this was a place that cooks with love. The eggs, the omelet, the French toast -- everything tasted like comfort. And then there was the millionaire bacon -- perfectly caramelized with brown sugar and just a touch of chili flakes. Sweet, smoky, with a gentle heat that teased your taste buds like heaven. Absolutely unforgettable. The portions were generous in the best way, and the prices were more than fair, especially for a breakfast that leaves you full and happy. But listen... the coffee. That coffee wrapped around you like a warm blanket. And then came the meat pies -- crispy, flavorful, absolutely unforgettable. Paired with those potatoes -- golden and crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside -- perfectly made, just the way they should be. The owner was there today too, sitting with friends, laughing and enjoying himself, and somehow that made the place feel even more real -- like you were stepping into a slice of everyday life, not just a restaurant. If you're looking for a true southern breakfast, a place with heart, warmth, and soul -- this is it. This is where you go when you want to feel something, not just eat. We'll be back. Without a doubt. And Miss Tammy -- thank you. You made the day brighter than you know.

This small locally owned breakfast restaurant is hip and trendy. The food was decent breakfast fair. The sever was lovely and kept the coffee coming. We had good service overall and enjoyed the breakfast that was served.

Egg & sausage with French toast and grits.

It was walking distance from the hotel I stayed at. Food was very mid. Grits- I am not sure how they're supposed to taste like, but it had no taste. I tried putting grape jelly in it, it was just bland. And the egg & sausage- it was just one egg & sausage lol. Service was good, the girls were very nice & attentive. The vibe was giving modern cafe in a sleepy town.

Great services and food! When we got there, everyone was so polite. Nice atmosphere and good food!!! Y'all need to check them out when you're in town. They closed at 2!

We came in for a last adventure before heading back out of town, and we can't wait to come back again. The avocado toast was eye rolling good. And the French toast? Like BREAD PUDDING!!! The place was quiet and clean, but also just aesthetically pleasing!

Omelette are huge! No lack of food here and the pricing is perfect. Very affordable! Very modern place so it throws you off a bit from other places you visit. Good breakfast spot.

Stopped into the Glass Hat after reviewing the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is really cute. The service was great and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed my grits and the omelet.

Great little find in the heart of downtown Shreveport on a rainy Sunday morning. The place was packed - even with the rain. Everything we ordered (see pictures) was excellent. Gouda Shrimp and Grits were phenomenal. Only reason I don't give a 5 is because it took a considerable amount of time for our order to arrive and our appetizer (egg rolls) were delivered after our entrees. Server was excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We will be back and we will tell everyone about the cafe.

Food, Atmosphere & parking were great. Waitresses so warm and welcoming. Glad I found this spot.

    Overcooked eggs

Food- Meh! Plates too small and overfilled to the point you couldn't eat easily- If you're going to cook breakfast you better make great eggs... these were so overcooked. Ordered over medium- came out dry and almost scrambled. Gravy - bad. Waffles- weird and dry Coffee- meh. Ambiance- could be awesome... when a restaurant bills itself as breakfast/brunch there should be certain things in the expectations such as: mimosas, bloody Mary's, high-quality breakfast goods that you can't get at just a regular diner. The building is wonderful, decor good. Service- Slower than slow kitchen... need a manger to help with greetings, seatings, coffee refills... our waitress was Phoebe- she was too busy and not keeping up, a scattered .. Amanda came by to help us several times . Phoebe was very rude to her fellow waitress across the dining room.. Overall this place has the potential to be great... for now it is amateurish. Low quality. And needing help.

So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.

The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. I attended with a local friend and he confirmed this is authentic. The experience: Friendly staff, a long restaurant with a bar section, followed by the condiments section, followed by a whole other bar somehow? I didn't poke my head back there but I found that intriguing. More on the condiments: They come with any sandwich. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu. I loved everything about this place except the fact that summer means just about all of the beers were light, and I had to hunt and peck to find beers more my style. Which I did. And maybe those beers are lingering as I type this review. But BeauxJax gave me the warm, fuzzy, welcoming feeling I love in a restaurant. A great stop in Bossier. Worth a detour from Shreveport.
