We were confused at first because the signage of the restaurant wasn't Teddy's Red Taco- instead there was a banner that read "Birria Tacos" covering what I assume is the original signage. It was empty at 6 pm on a weekday and the interior was nice and clean. Music was at a moderate level and they had a couple tvs playing local We walked in and the host greeted us. She was very kind (even gave us some cheese for our consume, which I think is extra) and we ultimately decided to go with her recommendation of the combo plate that included a taco, mulita, tostada, quesabirria, chips, and consume for $16. We added an extra quesabirria and drinks and that was enough for the two of us. Food was great and certainly satisfied the craving we had for birria tacos, but the red salsa was certainly the weakest part of the meal. I expected it to be spicier and maybe more flavorful, but it was closer to a chili paste more than salsa. A bit disappointing, but I didn't think I needed it to fully enjoy the meal since the consume was enough seasoning. Mr. Man got quesadillas. I'm not sure if it's the cheese, or if it's the birria broth, but the food was just really salty. Without having the squirt I'm not sure I would have been able to finish it. On our last trip to SoCal, I knew I had to take my family. The outside is super cute and there is plenty of parking. Inside there is tons of seating and service was quick. We ordered their build your own taco kit for $23.99 plus $7 for cheese. $30 to feed 5 people is a banger deal, especially for the quality and quantity of food you get. The kit comes with stacks of tortillas, cilantro, onion, radishes, fresh and juicy birria, lime slices, hot sauce, and consume. There was so much food my family was completely satisfied and we took home some extra sides we had left over to eat later. We also got a huge horchata which was amazing, and my dad was such a fan of the hot sauce he purchased a bottle!
