The food is ok here, but their prices had been going up a lot lately, I think it was like $26-$27 dollars for breakfast on a Sunday when it use to be like $14. $17 maybe I come back but I would come back for $27, it's a small buffet not many items and maybe had 4-5 good items everything else was just blah. I love a good hole-in-the-wall Mexican Food place. One of the things I do miss about living in California. Casa Gamino is very unassuming from the outside in a strip mall, but inside gives you all the classic Mexican restaurant vibes. Music, Mexican artwork, piñatas, and insta-worthy walls to take photos since it was Mother's Day. Delicious refried beans, rice and taquitos. Loved that they still serve chips and salsa at the table - wouldn't be a good Mexican restaurant if they didn't. My only criticism is prices were steep $17.95 for my plate, and service could've been more efficient. read more

Quickly greeted and escorted to a table. Drinks were out fast also. Complimentary Chips and salsa were next. The Chips were hot as if they were freshly cooked. The salsa perfect not too hot but addictive. Next up we ordered our meal. I ordered the Gambino trio 1 chimichanga 1 taquito and 1 crunchy hard taco with rice and beans also quac and sour cream. The guac wasn't to my liking didn't eat it. The food was out pretty quick and the food was Hot temperature wise and that's the best. I was so happy it even was too hot to quickly eat the first bite got me. I was super pleased with the beans the rice didn't have much flavor however was good combo. The shredded beef chimichanga was so good the tortillas fried lightly. The shredded beef plenty of flavor. The taquito was crispy with shredded beef as well toom 1 bite. Didn't eat the taco but full of beef and fresh cheese topping. Other plate was cheese green enchilada and shredded beef taco. Both so good and cheeselicious. Brought home leftovers. We were 10 mins late to the Buffet they off 22.95 or so which includes chilaquilles and even homemade tortillas. I cannot wait to return. Yes I recommend this place. I have been coming to this location for over 30 years. It is a favorite. Last night I had a new server. She was nice and all was good. I was with a friend and we were talking, we paid and tipped well. All of a sudden the lights were flickering as if they were closing. So we jumped up and left. As we walked out we noticed it was not even 830, and they close at 9! Then before we could pull out to leave the waitress came running out to leave. I did not see any of the regular staff so I'm not sure if they were all in a rush or just her. The worst experience I have had there, very disappointing. Food was delicious as always read more

The food here is honestly delicious and tastes very homemade, which is why it's so disappointing to see how much the cleanliness has gone downhill lately. The last few times I've come in, the dishes and utensils have been dirty, and the tables didn't seem properly cleaned either. The quality of cleaning has really plummeted, and it takes away from what could otherwise be such a great dining experience. Just walking in the door we were greeted and seated in just seconds! I love it when things come together!!! I had the Casa Gamino plate with a beef taco and My!Oh!! My!!! I am just so satisfied with this visit and this is it legit...my life feels so complete or maybe thats my tummy talking!!! This used to be our favorite place for lunch buffet. It felt like 'comfort' food and was always good. Great variety, solid service, lots of options. We've seen the price go up over the years, like everywhere, so we don't go as often as we used to. But decided to go today as a treat. Buffet lunch is now $21.95 per person. That doesn't include drinks, but even with just water it came to $50.00 for two people. The food is still good, but now there's less variety, including on the salad and dessert bars. Very few people were there and they've posted rules about how long you can stay and being charged for leaving food. Makes me sad considering how great it used to be. If we go back, we will order from the menu...the buffet is not worth the price. read more

Food was pretty good, however, one thing I particularly didn't appreciate is not being able to order from the kids menu. I typically order from that menu due to not being able to eat much and at every single restaurant I've ever gone to they have never said no. Well here they said no. I had 3 additional people ordering full meals so you can't tell me I wasn't supporting the business. I just think if an adult is trying to order from the kids menu, let them because there's probably a reason for it. Especially if other food is being consumed. Everything else was good. I eat here several times a year and usually choose the buffet lunch. It can be hit or miss depending on the day and time. Lately the food isn't that good and they aren't replenishing the items until completely picked over. The service was non existent today. I was seated by the owner and returned to my table dish in hand. Seemed they were short staffed but had 2 servers in my area yet neither served my table. I had to ask for water and was never checked on even when finished. I even had to go to the front to pay my check. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Over the 30 years I've been coming here the decor has essentially remained the same. Lunch time buffet. I cam in about 1:30 on a Wed. The fiod looked but some things looked like it was fulled at 4 hours So ago and was dry. When I took a bite of the enchilada, cold with hard cheese. The fish looked good but was rubbery and cold. The tacos were good but because they put lettuce under a heat lamp, well hot wilted lettuce. The albondigas soup was good. So the potential is there. But maybe since it was later in the day they just don't care to refresh their food on the buffet. I got the buffet because I wanted a variety but was it was not worth the money that I paid. If the food was fresher it would get a higher ranking. The service was not good. There was one other table when I walked into the restaurant that was getting ready to leave. I was stuck back in the corner of the buffet area. The waitress asked me while I was getting my food in the buffet what I wanted to drink I ordered a margarita she placed it on the table. The other waitress talked to people that were leaving for 10 minutes and I looked around wondering if tortillas came with some of the entrees that were on the buffet. It really needed some corn tortillas to go with it I finally flag the other waitress down to get some water and tortillas. The other waitress asked me how everything was and I said it was okay but it was a little cold and dry and she laughed, maybe she didn't understand what I was saying doesn't seem to be something to be laughing about. My waitress came back that was very nice but it was not very attentive and she could have been more since I was her only table. The other waitress starting turning off the lights to buffet at 1:50. 20 min later my waitress came back to check on me letting me know that they are clearing the buffet. It was all ok not great. Casa Gamino was an accidental find as we had turned into the wrong plaza and saw a sign for a $17.95 lunch buffet between 11am and 2pm. It was already 1:30pm but we still decided to give it a try. The food was average overall, but if you consider the prices these days and the amount of choices/food available, I can see bumping up the rating to good. The chile relleno and cheese enchilada were very cheesy and had good flavor so those were bonuses. I found the carnitas a bit on the dry side and the abondigas soup on the salty side but both still good overall. Others in my party really enjoyed the menudo and commented that the menudo had a lot of meat rather than just tripe. I didn't try it myself as I'm not a fan but others really enjoyed it. There were numerous dishes that were also fairly good, but the food signage was mixed up and/or lacking so not sure what they are called. Also, worth noting that the buffet was clearly lacking vegetable-forward dishes. The only vegetable dishes they offered were a cactus salad, and what looked like a bagged salad with wilted iceberg lettuce, and a few pieces of shredded purple cabbage mixed in. The service left a lot to be desired but the place looked like a family restaurant, and only had two visible servers: one tending the bar area, and the other was responsible for the remainder of the restaurant, including serving, busing the tables, etc. With that said, the servers were trying their best to cover the restaurant. They did turn off the lights in the buffet area promptly at 2 PM to signal that the lunch buffet was closed for the day. I would not be opposed to returning to this place the next time I'm in the area, but at the same time, it would also not be my first or second choice. read more

This place is good to average but for the price it's very well worth it. The best time to go would be the weekend buffet. when it's a little more bang for your buck. But I figure like this if I'm gonna go spend $15 on a value meal at McDonald's I'd rather go to this place and have fair a decent food that fills me up and I'm satisfied.
