Highly recommend AMLI SLU. I've lived in 5 apartments over the past 5 years, and stayed at AMLI for about 1.5 years. This complex is among the best, and if it wasn't for a job that forced me to move out of Seattle, I would have stayed for even longer. Let me explain: * All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I've had the oddest of requests (e.g., I needed help printing something) and questions (e.g., can we have another running machine) and staff is always very helpful! For what it's worth, they did add another running machine! * You can use amenities in any of the three buildings. AMLI 535, Phase 1, or Phase 2. All staff are concentrated in Phase 1, in one big office, and as a result of that, there is always staff on site, even if some agents are touring or on lunch break. This in my eyes is one of the biggest brain decisions management could've made. * There is always someone in the leasing office during normal business hours. I know this is a low bar, but just try touring random other apartments. You will have a very hard time with drop-ins -- sometimes, even problems with appointments. No problems at AMLI. Melissa is there, and 100% prepared. We signed so quickly with AMLI, partially because of how professional and prepared Melissa was. * The amenities are fantastic. They're kept clean, and with the exception of a few popular dates (e.g., July 4th), you can pretty much use them whenever you want. You rarely run into other residents. This excludes the gym of course -- there are usually 3-4 other people in there, except Friday evenings. You could even see the northern lights from the AMLI rootftop! * Made some lovely friends in the complex! Folks are generally friendly and approachable. Over the course of our stay, we made friends with 4 units across the 3 buildings. Not bad! I wouldn't say *everyone is open to chatting. Some people just want to be in their own space and that's okay. But there's also a large body of friendly people open to waving hello. * Cons: Be aware that the floors are hardwood, so you can hear your upstairs neighbors stomping. The elevators are slow AF. Like, a glacier. And, they keep breaking down. Sadly, the stairs don't even connect to the lobby -- they lead outside. Residents really like opening their doors when they burn something on the stovetop, so the fire alarm has gone off a few times. I'm just sharing these so you're aware and not surprised. I don't think these are deal breakers, but that's up to you to decide. All in all, I highly recommend AMLI. If you're moving in now, your unit will likely be recently renovated or even newly renovated. The prices are insanely competitive, and the location is fantastic. The staff is professional and reliable, (which is quite rare in managed properties, in my opinion). If you're still on the fence, here are some concerns that the negative reviews here discuss, and some of my own thoughts: * Ongoing renovation: Yes, there is constant renovation. There are three buildings, and construction is always going on in one building or another. We just picked a unit far from the amenities, and we had no issues (no noise pollution at all). In fact, this is the *only apartment complex I've ever seen that's constantly improving its amenities and units. So, I view this as a huge plus. Management is investing, and I love the new spaces as a resident. * Renter's insurance: This is always required -- not an AMLI specific thing. I personally recommend Lemonade for the best rates -- and for an insurance that actually has a record of fulfilling claims. * High water bill: Yeah, this is a Seattle thing. No idea why. In SF, it's the trash bill that's huge. Again, no idea why. * Bill to break lease: We had a fantastic experience here. Someone here mentioned a massive bill. And yes, that's an *option you have. You can (a) give 60 days notice and pay a 2-month penalty, then be done with it; OR (b) pay a 1-month penalty and keep paying monthly rent until a new renter signs; OR (c) what I and the other reviewer did, which is to pay out the rest of your lease with no penalty whatsoever. When a new renter signs, you're refunded the rest of the lease. AMLI moved fast, so our lease break ended up costing *less than a single month's worth of rent! We paid then $20k. They refunded us $19k. (or something like that). We were so happy. Again, I view this as a huge plus. Finally, I've moved out a while ago, so I no longer have a horse in this race. I lived at AMLI for three years and had a really pleasurable experience. The staff especially Casey and Melissa have been very helpful. The maintenance staff is excellent as well - very timely to fix issues. Definitely recommend the community and I hope Casey wins the best leasing agent award this time! :D read more

Moved into AMLI SLU Phase 2 back in April. Have been living here for 3 months so far and it's been great! Pros: - Solarium (7th floor lounge with AMAZING natural light), Think Tank (great space to do some work in), and overall comfort of apartment. - Location is fantastic & close to lots of food, the high way, and big tech companies. - Maintenance has always been quick (responding to most requests within 1 day) - Front desk folks are all really nice! They take the time to respond very professionally. - One really small thing that I love is the scents that get automatically dispensed on each floor. - ButterflyMX system is really convenient for guests - Love the random community events that are put on (there was a taco lunch a few weeks ago, a succulent event, and a puppy event!) - Proximity to Lake Union is a huge plus. Could use improvements: - Took a long time for the package room to get fixed in Phase 2. Was slightly annoying needing to go during office hours in Phase 1 to grab packages. - Gyms could be bigger (especially in Phase 2). No squat rack or bench press (they do have a smith machine though) - No coffee machine in Phase 2. Would love to see one there as well. - Would be amazing if there was a lounging area w/ some games in Phase 2 (e.g. foosball table or pool table). I have been a resident with AMLI South Lake Union since 2018. Since living here I have moved two more times to upgrade my apartment. I have also lived in both buildings. AMLI South Lake Union is a fantastic complex. I consider it to be the best option in the SLU area. Before renewing a lease with AMLI my boyfriend and I have toured all other apartments in the area and all AMLI apartments in the near area. By far, AMLI SLU is the best. This includes floor plans, location and amenities. The staff here is amazing. I've had the pleasure to meet with most of them and I am always impressed. Katy, RJ and Casey are always helpful and friendly! Minerva works as cleaning staff for AMLI and she is absolutely amazing. She remembers everyone and is so friendly and welcoming. Seeing Minerva is always a bright light in the day! Anytime we have had an issue it was resolved within 48 hours and if it couldn't be they would follow up with an explanation. I also think you get fantastic floor plans here for the rent! Overall, if you want to live in SLU, take a look at AMLI SLU! You will not regret it. read more

Do not recommend this apartment, management is intolerable and wreckless, you end up paying bills on behalf of a multi billion dollar company because management, cannot complete maintenance tasks, nor are they able to articulate the problem. My water bill went up from $80 to $217, two months after moving in. Since they've come to conduct tests, my bill went up from $165 to $217. Nobody can give me an ETA for the resolution, so I will be paying a ridiculously high bill on behalf of a multibillion dollar corporation again in Jan 2025. They should be ashamed! Very rude, very immature, quite stupid, and very careless with peoples property and time. The community manager works on rumors from her staff, or fictional stories she makes up in her head, the assumptions are illogical, unacceptable, and highly combative. They don't apologize for their errors, it's like living in a building run by a gang of con artists who are doing everything possible to evade responsibility. They pretend to be busy, but have time to discuss renters, come up with stories and gang up to harass them. That's what happened to me. Since I've sent all the evidence of their misstep the Manager who caused this has not reached back out. I cannot submit a dispute for the water bill because they refuse to give me the evidence showing it was fixed. Matt is highly unprofessional, unpleasant, and unfortunate. Overall great experience at the AMLI South Lake Union. The staff is friendly, maintenance is pretty quick, and amenities are well maintained. I have been a short term resident and had a job opportunity come up out of state. My lease is paid up current with a monthly charge of $2,668. My breaking lease bill is $15,323.10. I don't know how this is legal and I highly recommend you stay away from the AMLI company. I hope Washington prevents landlords from taking advantage of tenants in the future. read more

I had a good experience with AMLI itself. The building is nice and clean with good staff. My complaint is that living on the first floor with a walkup is flat out dangerous. In my too-long of a year there, I had people attempt to break into my apartment at least 3 times. After getting a security camera, I would get "visitors" with shocking frequency at night and during the day. Ranging from insane (and violent) lunatics to criminals attempting to open my windows/doors. Even in the summer heat, I could not leave my windows open at night due to the frequency of people trying to get in. Numerous time I woke up in the middle of the night to hear someone at the door banging or messing with the entrances and had to physically run them off with a weapon. Seattle is too dangerous to live in a walkup, avoid at all costs. Police take multiple hours to respond to a call about a man screaming he's going to kill me while trying to break a door's glass window. Thankfully, AMLI has a metal door with some damn strong glass. read more

Phase 2: The staff is great, but the resident community is wanting. I've honestly never lived anywhere with such passive non-neighborly residents. They're the type of people who will go through the leasing office to ask their direct neighbor a question... instead of, idk, knocking on the door (or answering the door) to introduce themselves and communicate like adults. It's weird and disconcerting. I don't recommend the people. I recall one of the staff members saying the AMLI 535 community was the exact opposite. Yayyyy... I lucked out and got the passive-aggressive oddballs. So I repeat, DO NOT live here unless you want to "breathe too loudly" and have your neighbors complain to the leasing office like they're socially inept 6-year-olds. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM. And yet, these people will report you to management for having 2 guests over who chuckled too loudly on a Sunny Summer Saturday at 4 PM. I suppose I find it doubly annoying because I live in a downtown apartment complex and expect some level of noise. I could easily report every utterance of noise I hear, but I don't because I'm not an entitled brat. It has literally never even crossed my mind to be annoyed when my neighbors down the hall host (as they often do) a bunch of ppl over for a gathering on a weekend. But living here it seems that's the M/O. Ugh. Gross. MOVE INTO A HOUSE AWAY FROM OTHER HUMANS IF YOU EXPECT COMPLETE ACQUIESCENCE TO HYPER SENSITIVITIES. AND STOP BEING HYPOCRITES. read more

I am disappointed by the important floor information that the leasing office and their website is hiding from me. It is the first time I see the concrete floor in the US which is totally different from the showroom I toured, since this unit was not available at that time. The leasing office also told me that they have the same furnishing style. It made me shocked the first day I moved in, and not to mention the damaged areas and dirty marks and lines on the floor. I also found that their website also advertises the floor to be Vinyl plank flooring, which is obviously a false advertisement. If I saw the concrete floor before, I would never rent this unit from their apartment. After I raised this issue to the apartment complex, they insisted it to be a miscommunication and implied that I do not have evidence that they didn't have informed me before I signed the lease, by saying 'but I was not there', which made me more annoyed. Result: I got early lease termination with 20 days notice without settlement fee and $75 monthly rent concession (notice it took us 20+ emails to get from nothing to humiliating $25 and then to $75). I have accepted it since it already took me several weeks to negotiate with them. But still, I think any potential renters should be aware about the situation and not to be misled by their apartment like I was. read more

Update: People at corporate office finally stepped in and helped with the situation. I will transfer to a top floor apartment with assistance from the building management. The office attempted sending me emails through emailing system but those replies did not go through somehow, unfortunately. I'm bumping the review to a 3-star but keeping my original review for others' reference. Regardless, the whole experience was not well managed and left a bad taste in my mouth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Living in a good community should bring you peace, happiness, not anxiety, nor distress. Overall, AMLI SLU is an ok apartment to live in (if you are lucky to not have to deal with the management for issues). SLU is a quiet and relatively safer neighborhood. AMLI SLU is within walking distance to a lot of offices for big tech in SLU, and you can see a glimpse of water from many north-facing apartments. It is a more economical option than many downtown/Belltown apartments, though its facilities in Phase I are also not as new or good as those new apartments in downtown (Phase II is better). Give and take. My misery was a result of two things: poor sound insulation, and incapability (or unwillingness) of the management to promptly resolve issues for tenants. My experience is not an isolated case as I know as a fact that a neighbor recently had to move to another unit because of ridiculous noise from upstairs. I sincerely hope no one else would experience the same as I do). The wooden flooring on certain floors (Phase I 4th floor to be specific) is thin as paper that you can hear whatever your upstairs neighbors are doing. In my case, the neighbor is stomping (or doing jumping jack) all day long, and what's worse, in the wee hours. After a few attempts to discuss the matter directly but to no avail, I brought up the issue to AMLI management, as the noises and vibrations in my apartment have severely affected my sleep, work productivity, and life quality. The management was not quick to respond. A noise test was scheduled 4 days after a formal complaint was filed. Then they concluded that the noises are normal living sound even after I shared multiple voice recording and video clips taken at 3am, 4am etc., in each circumstances woke me up even when I wore earplugs. When the noises were at their worst, my closet door and ceiling lights squeak and vibrate (yes, I am not exaggerating the situation, that's how thin the flooring is). The management offered a "courtesy" free of charge transfer to a different unit, but the suggested units would not be available in more than 2 weeks time and the management went on silent mode, refused to talk about details of transfer, e.g. when can I start moving, can I move to other units as there are obvious other units immediately available in the apartment as shown on their website. It all seems like the courtesy transfer would just make it look nice on the paper. I made calls to the corporate office and the lady there promised to get back to me by a certain date, but again, no call, no email, nothing. People in the office, while being polite, kept telling me that they could not anything and asked me to contact corporate and write emails. The whole management seems to just hope that I either suck it up and suffer from noise induced anxiety, or break the lease so that they can take home the penalty for early termination. Whatever their intention is, leaving tenant hanging should never be the case. As I am writing this review at 12:11am, the neighbor is still stomping and shaking my ceiling, and I assure you that your Bose noise cancelling would not work in this situation. So, if you are considering moving to SLU, I suggest that you avoid AMLI SLU if you are sensitive to noises, at least, avoid the 4th floor. I hope you would never need to experience the same if you insist on staying here. All tenants are entitled to quiet enjoyment right, but AMLI management does not seem to be respecting this right.   Good luck for those looking for an apartment. read more

Where do I start. I will tell you that had I rated this "home" when we first moved in with the original office representatives it would have been a 4 maybe 5. We have lived here for about 2+ years. The rent after first year went up 20 %, and it actually got worse. I will say that if you use their app rather then speak to a human you get better response. It's strange that you can't walk into the office and talk to someone. I have had random things stolen from me in the community sections, one time someone stole my ping pong paddles which is crazy but whatever...I've been with groups of people on the roof top and the other college group drank our beers in a beer bong. I have watched people smoke cigarettes and drink from bottles on the roof like it's a frat house, I've had encounters with the random security guard who closes the gate to the garage and was yelled at for being in community areas without time restrictions. The people who live here. Don't get me started, I've seen dog shit in the stairwell, the dog run area people just do not pick up their dog shit. I've had to enter other apartments to ask them at 3am to turn down their music or stop playing some basketball arcade game. The gym has personal trainers working their clients out and getting paid for. (Has to be illegal). It's just not the same, and they don't care...they used to do cooking classes now they do pizza from dominoes...they used to do fun fun activities like beer tasting and gatherings and now they do nothing. Overall the place is really nice and the staff is amazing. I also really like its location in SLU. However, in the year and a half that I've lived there the phase II building's package room has been broken into twice. As a result of this they've had to close the package room and tried to have all phase II packages delivered to the leasing office at the phase I building. This was just a minor inconvinience which was supposed to be temporal, but after three months it doesn't seem like a temporal thing anymore. It has become a real problem since for the packages that are delivered to the leasing office you are required to pick them up at leasing office hours which can be complicated for people on a busy schedule. For example, for my food delivery packages (e.g. Freshly/Blue Apron) if they are delivered to the leasing office I have to make sure to be able to pick them up before the leasing office closes or else I'd have to pick them up the next day and hope for the food not to be spoiled by then. For other packages the delivery companies just leave them at phase II's lobby since they don't want to make the trip to phase I one block away. This has resulted in two packages being stolen for me, and while I know this is not management's fault, it is a result of them neglecting to fix the root cause of not having a package room for months now. This just feels like a downgrade from the state of the building when I first moved in and after months of asking the leasing office and getting a "who knows when it will be fixed" as a response it just seems like this is not something management cares about. Overall a pretty good place but if I were to move here knowing this I'd either make sure I rent on phase I building where this is not an issue or rent on one of the nearby apartment complexes which offer very similar amenities/appartments for very similar prices but don't have this type of issues. read more

Good location but too much money and no views of south lake Union anymore. Also the neighbors are so loud upstairs and we can hear it easily which should not happen in a new place. We can hear every foot step, when they have sex, even when they open drawers in their kitchen. I asked management to check on this, but other than a sound test, nothing was done to fix the issue. I see other tenants have now complained here as well with the sound issues. Do not live here unless you want to hear everything. Plus listening to dogs bark all the time is annoying and don't even get me started on their loud and very slow elevators. For a newer building there were issues all the time, units were leaking, our sink fell completely into the cabinet since their plumbers did the worst job I've ever seen when it comes to fastening a sink to a counter and it sounds like they had to fix all the sinks in the whole place. Spend your money elsewhere, they increased our rent over $140 a month after 12 months so we found a much nicer brand new building with more amenities closer to downtown Seattle. Their price does not justify their limited amenities, they are a 4 star apartment charging a 5 star price. I am actually paying more to move to a brand new 5 star place because the difference is night and day and the price increase is worth it. read more

AMLI South Lake Union - The not view from the deck facing the lake. - Apartments Near Me - Seattle, Washington

My husband and I lived at AMLI SLU for 6 years, in the same 4th floor, south facing apartment and absolutely loved living there. Keep in mind that this is an apartment complex in Seattle, so there is going to be the occasional neighbor noise and there is going to be city noise. In our 6 years there, we only had issues with one neighbor and we handled it between ourselves. It is amazing how receptive people can be to noise feedback when you do it in a respectful way. Except for that one issue, we did not think the daily noise was anything that exceeded what you'd expect living in an apartment in the city. For the most part, neighbors respected the quiet hours and we had no issues. The personnel in the office changed a few times throughout our time there and we always had nothing but positive interactions with them. They were always very receptive to inquiries and feedback and quick to act. Everyone in the office has been awesome, but Katy specifically goes above and beyond for her residents. She is a rockstar! The AMLI Service/Maintenance team is also top notch! We had a few items come up in our apartment throughout our time there and they always addressed the issue within 24-48 hours (usually next day). The convenience of downtown is really hard to beat. For the most part, the complex is situated in a quieter area of the city. There is a major bus route that loops around the block that can add to traffic noise, but this is all to be expected when you choose to live in a city. You are within walking distance to so many things such as parks, grocery stores, drug stores and most importantly restaurants. The pricing for the apartment units, for us, seemed competitive with the other apartments in the area. There were a couple years we saw increases of around 10%, which was comparable to other apartments, but there were some years where our rent didn't go up at all. So this shows they're not going to raise your rent just to raise it, but raise it when the competition in the area requires it. It's each individual's preference when to decide that a price increase is not worth it and to move, but in our 6 years there, when the area was really expanding, we always felt that the location, apartment and office team were worth the price. The location is really hard to beat! There were some negatives, there were pretty consistent security concerns with break-ins throughout our time there. The parking garage was a hot target, specifically for bikes. We never stored a bike in the garage so never had issues. We also never had issues with car break-ins either, but we never left the car unlocked or valuables in it. If you use common sense you'll likely be fine and won't have issues. Additionally, the city itself has a homeless/drug problem and lack of resources for the mentally ill. The area around the apartment complex (as with many other areas all over the city) does attract the homeless and you will see them setup and roaming around the area. However, we were never bothered by them or by their presence in the area. The city as a whole as a problem so they're just looking for shelter and safe places to sleep. That said, you will see drug use and drug paraphernalia scattered about. This isn't AMLI's issue though, but rather a city not caring for it's people. The only other negative thing we'd say about AMLI, and it is related more towards the residents than the building or office team, but the pet relief area was always pretty gross and the sidewalks around the building always had a bit of dog crap around. AMLI always did their best to try and keep up with it and try to enforce people picking up after their pets, but there are always going to be crappy people (pun intended) so you do your best and AMLI does try. Move out for us was easy and seamless. We took really good care of our apartment and after living in it for 6 years, still received our security deposit back. They honor the "normal wear and tear", which we had after living there so long. AMLI is not out to nickel and dime you like some apartments. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Moved in for about one month now. So far my experience has been good. First I like the location. It's walkable to a few great coffee and brunch places, bus stops, and though a little further still walkable to markets and light rail station. Staffs are friendly. I had great experience during the tour and signing process. Amenities are clean from what I experienced. Two dog area and two paw wash station make it convenient for dog owners. If I can make one recommendations it would be to please add a coffee machine in phase 2. read more

I visited AMLI South Lake Union on August 28th. The staff was very nice and professional during the tour process - In fact it was my very positive experience with the staff that drove me to write this 5-star review. The apartments themselves are clean and have great natural lighting. Some of the amenities were definitely unique and that's why it made to the top of my shortlist (They have a community wood-shop & a lounge with an incredible view of the lake and the Space Needle). Overall great experience, I would definitely recommend those looking for a nice and cozy apartment in the South Lake Union to visit AMLI SLU. You really can't beat the location, because it is next to South Lake, the Space needle, and just a bus ride away to Pike Market Place. Not to mention the food in the area is awesome. It is my first review but unfortunately it was a horrible experience. I still hope it could help somebody in the future. I went to their office to ask when they could finish a maintenance request which I put there for a week (they have a 48-hour policy). The staff RJ kept telling me he would follow up with the maintenance team without giving me any useful information( I hadn't been able to do laundry for 2 weeks since the washer was shaking violently). He asked me "do not to sit here or I will call 911 to escort you out". Yeah, he told me that and he really called 911 to ask a resident leave their leasing office (when he was doing the call, I heard he actually gave out my name and contact information). Not sure where did those positive reviews come from, I would definitely not recommend this property. ------ update at April 25th, 2020 Multiple car burglaries at this Thursday. The passenger-side window of my car was smashed to pieces. They weren't even able to give me a call to talk about this. Till the end of the week, they just sent out an email to tell us call Seattle police's non emergency number. Saw and talked to several residents at the garage, none of them felt secure parking here, even in this gated and secured parking spot. Parking fee is $200 for unreserved and $250-$300 for reserved. Chose a reserved spot for $250/month for my new car but ended up like this.. Not recommend this property, especially for people with cars. Read other reviews twice before moving here. I moved to AMLI South Lake Union this past February and so far, I'm loving it here. The management team were very communicative from the very start when I contacted them about potential apartments and tours. The apartment tour was very thorough (Katy gave me the tour) and I got to really see all the amenities and all the different layouts I was exploring at the time. With the seasonal promo, the rent was definitely an amazing deal in the SLU neighborhood, as many of the other apartments I saw were smaller and smaller, if not the same square footage. I moved into the Phase 1 one bedroom (available for 3D tour online) layout with a walk-in closet and three smaller closets in the hallway/kitchen area. The room is crazy spacious! All my friends who visited my place commented on the amount of space I had, and having so much space allowed me to decorate my apartment like I wanted. My previous apartment was about 100 sqft smaller and I wasn't able to buy all the furniture I wanted at the time. The maintenance has been pretty responsive and for the most part, everyone is very respectful. I did have a slight noise issue, but the management team (especially Cameron) worked with me throughout the entire process to get it resolved without having any additional problems arising. I would say the walls aren't completely noise proof, but the noise that you would hear from your neighbors definitely would not be super bothersome. I was just extremely sensitive at the time due to lack of sleep. The neighborhood is pretty quiet - even with all the constructions happening in SLU. I didn't want to live in the center of all the social scenes, so SLU was perfect for me to be close enough to the city life but also have quiet alone time to myself when I want to. My wife and I love living In the AMLI South Lake Union. We rent a one bedroom apartment and have plenty of room for us and our dog Madison and cat Roger. The apartment has great finishes, high ceilings and a rooftop deck. The leasing staff and maintenance crew are friendly and very responsive to our service requests. I highly recommend living here, especially since it's centrally located in Seattle and close to the freeways and public transportation. read more

He is kind, professional, and attentive, I had such a lovely experience touring these apartments with him. AMLI SLU has beautiful amenities, and equally beautiful apartments, they are modern, clean, and quiet, and if you tell Casey what you want, he goes above and beyond in providing that for you. Former resident here. My final take on AMLI SLU is that the $$$$ price just isn't justified in any sense. Everything from building quality and customer service to other residents left much to be desired. There is plenty of housing available in this neighborhood to choose from. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of AMLI. They just don't care about their residents. Let me explain... The building quality itself is shotty and there is absolutely no soundproofing between apartments or the outside. You hear every step, every moan, and every friggen bark from your neighbors. Also, there is a very popular bar with live music down the block so if you're living on the south side of the building you will hear loud bass music from 10pm-3am EVERY SINGLE NIGHT because the building has no sound insulation! The elevators are also ALWAYS out of service and generally very slow. Seriously, almost every day 1/2 is not working and they take forever to get fixed. Parking is TERRIBLE! You pay 175$ a month for a spot (at least when I lived there) for no guarantee you'll actually have a spot. The spots are so so so small that people often take 2 spots because their cars literally don't fit. And to make matters worse, half the spots are "reserved" to be leased out to local employees or for those willing to pay more $$$ for a designated spot. Also, 3 times while I was living there they blocked off EVEN MORE spots to sell to outside businesses despite residents' complaints about parking. And forget about trying to park in these business or reserved spots when you can't find an open choice because they regularly ticket cars in the garage if not moved by 8am. They seriously just don't care at all about their residents. AMLI is only out to make more money. Customer service/management was always INCREDIBLY rude. For example, I moved in with my boyfriend who was already living there on a Friday. The front desk guy told me that I couldn't access the parking lot until the manager/owner? came back and approved my application on Monday. Alright, fine. Monday rolls around and I don't hear a peep so I end up paying the 20$ to street park for the day. Tuesday morning I go down to see what's up and am told the owner was too busy and hadn't gotten to it. I was furious by Thursday because I had still not been given access so I marched downstairs and demanded to speak with the owner. Obviously that couldn't be arranged for some BS reason. So that SAME front desk guy ends up giving me a key to the garage despite the fact that I hadn't been approved yet. WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE DONE THE WEEK EARLIER BEFORE I PAID 20$ A DAY FOR STREET PARKING??? Top it off with the fact that the employees were generally rude and not helpful. For example, when they say they open at 9 they really mean they'll walk in at 9 and talk to each other until 10 despite the line of people waiting to get in the office. Also, they'll never be able to address your issue, so they'll tell you they'll call you later with the answer. Spoiler alert: you'll never get that call. After living there a year they will jack up your rent by 15-20% and then refuse to negotiate with you despite the fact that they listed your same apartment for 100-200 less than they offered you. The first time they did this I figured the extra cost balanced the cost of moving plus the area is still good. However, the second year this happened to me they were charging WAY more than other comparable places so beware and do your homework. I will say the maintenance was always very friendly and fast. Also, the apartment complex is nice looking with decent common areas and a modern look. Unfortunately, these common areas are frequently reserved for private parties or full of very loud residents which makes it difficult for others to enjoy. These are literally the only pros I can come up with for this apartment. Finally, I think most of these positive reviews are fake or from people just moving in who haven't realized what they're getting into yet. They're just not realistic and don't represent what living at AMLI SLU is really like. Please please please look carefully at what you're signing up for when you choose this apartment. In my opinion, you're better off elsewhere and you'll save yourself some serious cash. read more

Katy, the manager, has been very helpful to us a couple times when we've needed support, and the maintenance requests are always filled day of. So you got a job at Amazon, Facebook or Microsoft in Seattle and are considering going to live in South Lake Union. Yes? Read this. I have been inside the buildings as a potential tenant, went there 3x, but ended up renting somewhere else. Things to know: - Most apartments in SLU to not have air conditioning, so make sure your apt doesn't get too hot in the summer. - A lot of new apartment windows do not open more than one or two inches (I am serious). - If you can, start a lease out of the summer, because prices do go up in this season then they back out The good about Amli SLU: - Apartments are quite new - Gym is great (really) - Sky deck is beautiful. An air-conditioned room with glass ceilings - Attention to detail is stellar here: knobs, drawers, elevators, bathroom tap - Grill areas area awesome. There are several units with shades for your guests - 100% of the building is smoke free. So if you are healthy like me, you'll like it - Available charging parking garage for electric cars Things I did not like about Amli SLU: - Most common areas close at 10pm: kitchen on rooftop, glass rooftop. This would be understandable to avoid noise for people who live next to these common areas. But wait a minute, I was told that the rooms were "SOUND PROOF". Does that ring a bell? - One of the salespeople said some things that I did not believe. For example: "The prices will go up this Monday!". I checked the price again and they did not. So be careful with that. Overall, I think the community is very good and apparently they are making significant efforts to make everyone happy. The deal breaker for me was that I did not find a reasonable space to work with a laptop after 10pm. This is unacceptable for the price they are charging (especially in the summer). I understand that some places are next to other tenants, but how about being creative and finding somewhere that does not bother other people? Or perhaps improving the "sound proof" of these rooms? read more

I have lived in SLU 2 for more than a year and love the building. The apartments have a great layout and the building amenities are hard to compete with. The staff is amazing and really create a sense of community .Three employees stand out because of their kindness and going the extra mile to provide excellent service; Minerva from the maintenance team and Katy and Roger from the leasing office. read more

AMLI South Lake Union - Gorgeous :) - Apartments Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I absolutely love living at Amli SLU! There are so many great things about living here, where to start... The building is gorgeous and modern with a unique and fun design. The rooftop is great for summer parties because it has a spacious lounge with two TV's, an Xbox, a kitchen, free coffee and huge garage doors that open up to the deck, where you find the ping pong table, fire pit, plenty of seating and beautiful views of the skyline and South Lake Union. There is a second outdoor area great for hosting events where you can watch outdoor movies on a large projector screen. The staff (Ron, Heidi, Emmanuel and Stephanie) is so friendly and they all deserve an A+ for the fantastic events they put on. My favorite is when Chef Ricky comes to give cooking lessons and makes food for everyone to try. They also put on a weekly wine and appetizer hour, serve breakfast on some mornings, have outdoor movie events with tons of food from local vendors, put on a neighborhood ping pong tournament and so much more! We are truly spoiled here. There is always something to do for everyone and because of this I have gotten to know all of my neighbors and have gained many friends. I don't think it can get any better than living here. The location and proximity to the freeways and downtown can't be beat. There is no question that I will be living here for a long, long time. read more

AMLI is a great place to call home. From the moment we toured the location to being official residents, the management staff were very accommodating when we were moving in and continue to be so now. Also, the maintenance staff resolve requests in a timely fashion with no fuss. The amenities are always in good condition and available for use. For example, there is usually always space in the gym to use the equipment you want. We have really enjoyed living at AMLI SLU so far! read more
