Very considerate and friendly. Would highly recommend renting from here if you are in the Seattle area.

The rental process was simple and the car was as advertised. I would rent from them again.

In theory this service is awesome. In reality not so much. My friend and I rented a car for the…read more4th of July holiday We paid for 48 hours and entered our destination location into the app. The trip started off fine and we made it to our destination successfully but when we went to leave the next day we realized despite having a physical car key, we had been locked out of the engine and were unable to start the car. Apparently our destination was out of Internet range. When I called to complain and have them unlock it remotely I was told they were unable to do so because of the lack of Internet access. Needless to say, we were stranded and missed the ferry we had intended to take home. Fortunately, we were able to hitch another ride back to the city. I think it's ridiculous that you aren't able to start a car despite having a physical car key, and the fact that they knew our destination location and didn't let us know there would be no Internet service is infuriating. I've heard of this happening with other car apps which is exactly why I specifically chose Car2go. I knew with this service I would be given a physical car key. Turns out, that makes no difference. To make matters worse, when I called to complain and request a refund for the remaining seven-hour portion of our trip (since we had been stranded and weren't able to return home) I was told they would put in a request, but I would need to follow up because that isn't protocol. We have both since called and emailed to follow up and have received no response or refund. Adding insult to injury, the car was stranded in our friend's driveway blocking her garage for a week before it was retrieved by the company.

I've tried scanning my card on multiple available cars and it just doesn't recognize my card. I've called customer service several times and of course I'm on hold for two hours and don't even get to a real person before "connection" is lost. I love the concept and cuteness of car2go, just wish they had better customer service.

I cancelled my membership because of their customer service. I honestly can't believe I kept it for…read morethis long and continued to use it as I've had issues in the past with them. Customer service is rude and only resorts to rebooking or charging you extra if you have an issue with the car and you go over your time. When I was trying to return the car I had, it wouldn't turn on at all. I still had more than enough time to return it. Maybe it was my fault for calling them right when I was supposed to return it, but I had been trying to turn the car on multiple times and nothing was happening. While on the phone, they insisted that the car wasn't turning on because the gas was low, which doesn't make sense, and couldn't have been true because there was still 1/4 tank left. They then gave me two options, rebook the car and be charged the late fee and the rebooking charges or have it towed and be charged all the towing and potential impounding fees. I argued that it wasn't reasonable to be charged the late fee because the situation was out of my control, but they wouldn't listen to me. I was constantly put on hold, even for the smallest questions or explanations, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, they told me it wasn't possible multiple times. I decided to rebook and they kept insisting that I fill up the gas even though it had the minimum amount needed to avoid fees upon return. But when I went to get gas, the gas card wasn't working even after multiple tries. I even called them again after returning to tell them it wasn't working and they brushed me off saying I had enough gas, so I wasted even more time with the car. In the end, I was charged $155 when the trip was supposed to only be $67. I considered calling to try and dispute this but I knew they wouldn't be helpful at all due to my past experiences. Their first suggestion is to always charge even more money to rebook the car but still paying a late fee regardless of if the situation was out of your control. This was the fourth issue I've had with zipcar in only 2-3 months.

No one can help if you call. You are put on hold for multiple minutes, and every time you call you are transferred, and you will be transferred. Not one person is helpful. I just booked a car for this evening and there was NO KEY TO START THE CAR. The agent told me that they had already had reports that there was no key in the car. Yet!! They still had it available to rent. Garbage nonsense every time you have to deal with them.

And the gas economy is simply unbelievable! Alyson is an amazing host, she's fun and pleasure to deal with. She takes a real good care of her cars. She urgently changed the car that I initially booked a day before the trip, because that car turned out to have some mechanical issues. I was really glad that it was all resolved before the trip and not on the road. Besides, this shows that Alyson has her cars mechanically checked before every trip, so I felt safe driving Bianka. Check in and check out process were contactless and easy. I'm definitely going to rent one of Alyson's cars next time i'm in Seattle! Thank you Ava!

This is a long rant. But to sum it up, Lyft takes no responsibility whatsoever when they screw up…read more None. Nada. Zip. Instead, they are condescending and inflexible. We waited on the sidewalk for 20 minutes, starting 10 minutes before our Lyft was due. It never showed. The driver never communicated with us. At first, Lyft wanted to charge us a $10 penalty for missing the ride that never came. Then my app said the ride was *canceled by the driver*! Bizarre! We ordered another Lyft, but ended up getting to our concert late. After the concert, I spent over an hour and a half on chat with Lyft--first with a bot. The bot said they had resolved the problem by refunding the charge for the ride that never showed up. I argued there should be some form of compensation. After all, from a legal perspective, they broke their contract to provide a ride for a stated fee which we paid. The bot and the three supposedly-human agents I spoke with all told me they understood how frustrating it must be for me. Totally condescending, focusing on my feelings rather than their failure. When I first asked for a live agent, the bot got snarky and responded, "I can get an agent if you like, but they will just say the same thing I've been telling you.." The agents I spoke with were, in fact, equally patronizing. I asked the lead agent to read the transcript of the very long chat up to that point. They clearly read no more than a couple of sentences. They wanted to go back to step one and "explain" everything over again. My conclusion: Lyft is indifferent to its own oustomers and to its ineptitude, and becomes condescending, defensive, and aggressive when confronted with their mistakes. Once Lyft has your payment information, you are totally at their mercy--in other words, S.O.L. I have some philosophical problems with Uber, but at least they treat their customers with respect, competence, and sincere good intentions. So I guess it's Uber from here on out.
