Wheel & tire on the driver side, notice how the wheel is tilted in towards the vehicle.

Purchased Vehicle On: 7/24/24 Vehicle Entered Service Center: 8/1/24 Date of Review: 9/7/24 TLDR: LJ Mazda of Seattle sold me a clean Carfax vehicle that was later found to have been hit and seemingly repaired under the table. Was also advised that there was no open recalls on the vehicle when I bought it, only later to find that there is an open recall. Not pointing any fingers, but a later inspection revealed that the front fender had been pulled, and touch up paintwork was found on the right side of the fender and some more on the right hand mirror. Perhaps they were unaware as well. Vehicle was taken to LJ Genesis Kirkland for further inspection, which found that the drivers side strut was bent. Was advised that LJ Genesis Kirkland would ask LJ Mazda Seattle to comp the repairs. They ended up paying only partially paying for the damage, any remaining was my responsibility. This was ok enough for me. A dealer buddy of mine had alerted me to a used 2020 Genesis G70 that had been sitting at LJ Mazda Seattle for about three weeks. He looked into the Carfax and it all came out clean. This vehicle was equipped in the exact configuration and model year that I wanted, and was one of maybe just a couple in the entirety of Washington. I became curious about the car and decided to head out with my friend to check out the vehicle on 7/21/24. Initial impressions were good. We saw a chipped windshield before the test drive, but the vehicle drove well. I worked with Dennis Thomas when inquiring about the vehicle. Very friendly guy, easy to work with but didn't know too much about the vehicle. For the numbers, I worked with the General Manager Michael Hourigan in person and the Used Car Manager Brian Elich over the phone. Brain was friendly over the phone. Michael was decently friendly in person as we talked numbers. The first quote came out to over 45,000 dollars, which I thought was crazy for a 4 year old car. This was with all the prepaid maintenance and protection packages, which I was not interested in at all. For a car that had a windshield chip, extremely low coolant, and additional issues that wouldn't be revealed until later, I took some time to think about it. I was obviously very excited over this vehicle and I let that hinder my better judgment. I returned on 7/24/24 to finalize the paperwork and purchase the vehicle. I worked with The Finance Manager David Kirkham who was friendly enough. He advised me that they checked for open recalls and found none. He also tried to sell gap insurance to me at $12/mo. I mentioned that I was not interested in purchasing gap at the dealer as I would add it on later by other means. That should have been that. However, he kept pressing about 4 more times mentioning personal stories involving people without gap, even showing me an a claim made by an insurance company, and 'informing' me that gap cannot be added after the fact. My insurance agent was later able to add gap for $3/mo. Upon taking the vehicle home, I noticed that the drivers side front wheel had some severe noticeable negative chamber. Pictures are attached. I had my mechanic look it over and he determined that the strut was bent due to some rubbing and a faded sticker on the left front strut which was not present on the right front strut. I decided to take it LJ Genesis Kirkland to have it diagnosed further. They confirmed that the strut was bent. They also found that there was an open recall for the vehicle... So now, the vehicle is sitting at dealership service at LJ Genesis Kirkland. They've advised me that they will ask LJ Mazda of Seattle to cover the repairs, but I am extremely doubtful.

I was a little skeptical reading the other reviews that this dealership made the car buying process painless, but I was happy they were right! I went in knowing what I wanted, so I had minimal in-person interaction with the staff. But from how we did interact (including over email), from the test drive thru signing docs, Dennis, Hunter, and Michael were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave me a great deal without any headaches. I really appreciated that they were upfront about their offers and rebates too, rather than avoiding mentioning them. Thank you guys (: PS - was a nice surprise to find they have a cute dealership dog ready to greet you (:

I used this service for over seven years while living in Seattle. This is my long-term (and long…read moreoverdue) review of their service. First, I've always found Ace Auto to be courteous, honest, and clear with communicating the work that my cars needed (a 2013 Camry switching to a 2017 RAV4 Hybrid later). They've always been up-front about what work is critical versus what can be delayed until later. Second, the owners are dedicated to ensuring that cars are repaired and returned in a timely fashion. When COVID hit in 2020, they went in on the weekend to fix my RAV4 all so that I could get my car back on the following Monday as promised (which wasn't actually their fault as a supplier error caused the wrong part to be shipped initially, and the right part only arrived when the shop was about to close on Friday). Third, while the service provided might not be the cheapest, I have NEVER had to take my car back in to get a repair "fixed" because it was done improperly the first time. This was really important to me because my car was my main mode of transportation as a family caregiver. I'm sorry that it took me almost eight years and two different cars to get around to writing this review. On the other hand, I can pretty confidently say that you can rely on Ace Auto to make sure your vehicle stays in great shape over the years. Thanks guys.
