My husband and I moved to the area about 5 years ago. When driving by we saw a sign that said, "Best margaritas in town". I was like "Oh I'll be the judge of that!" OMG they showed up and showed out! Their Cadillac and mango margaritas are my favorite. Seriously the best margaritas in town. Now for the food, just as good as the margaritas! I love their enchiladas and shredded beef tacos (they don't skimp on the cheese ) I've never had a bad dish. The service is amazing! The staff have become like family and it happened pretty early on. Second visit, this time for a late lunch. It had been a while since our previous visit and we seemed to recall that it was okay, but wanted to give them another try. The service was very good, as all staff we interacted with were friendly and the drinks and food came out quickly, but the food was only okay. FOOD & DRINKS: We received a complimentary basket of chips and salsa. I love a smooth salsa and this one was delicious. We started with a couple small Margaritas ($7 ea.), one on the rocks and the other blended. Tasty and strong! For lunch we tried the Camaron Mojo Ajo ($22.50) and the Enchiladas Suizas ($21.25). The shrimp in garlic sauce was tasty, but the enchiladas were covered with grated Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, which was not what I was expecting. In Mexico City, they serve them with a melted Oaxaca, Manchego, and Mozzarella cheeses. Now, I did look at several online recipes, and many called for Monterey Jack, but to me the flavor wasn't the same. The shredded chicken could have used a little more seasoning. Also, I ordered a second small Margarita but was charged for a double ($15). It did seem like twice the tequila, but in the small glass, it was super strong! Mi Amor is Amor Indio This is a great place for families and friends to hang out. It's a quiet, intimate setting with great service. They have a nice little bar and plenty of seating. Our server Roberto is phenomenal. He was very friendly and attentive. I would give him 10 stars for service. I ordered the chile relleno with a cheese enchilada. Both of them were served with a generous amount of cheese and sauce. Yum! It was served with rice and beans. Definitely a generous portion. I love picking the cheese off of the brans with a chip. Probably ordered the wrong things. Again. Story of my life Wasn't hungry but girlfriend was, so to accompany her I ordered a side chicken enchilada and albóndigas meatball soup). She had a seafood enchilada plate. They gave free chips and salsa. The ladies were SUPER nice and genuine. Looved their service. Even the guy (assuming manager/owner?) came out and table touched. We dug the ambiance. Old school throwback chill vibe. It was quiet and easy to find in the corner of the block, a decent amount of parking. We also went during an off time so there were only a few tables. Bathrooms are clean (one men's and one unisex - I would want the men's bathroom doubling for a unisex either loolll). But my food was meh. Proteins bland. Didn't like the rojo. Veggies in sopa were undercooked. Her shrimp and crab meat enchilada was the first I'd ever had and it tasted okay. Rice and beans were okay too! Honestly, not sure how they got such a high rating, if we're talking about their food. But everything else was great! I'd go back.. for something else. My first time visiting this community gem. Decided to catch up with the friends and we all met at the bar. Bartender Nora made the BEST Cadillac Margaritas i've ever had!!! We ordered A taco plate, A carne asada plate, and Shrimp cocktail. The food was so delicious we were playing musical chairs with our plates. We all couldn't wait to try each-others dish. Portions are generous, hot, and authentic flavor... no fake Mexican food at this place. I only wish I could drink Cadillac margaritas & eat Crunchy Beef Tacos..EVERY DAY . What impressed me the most was that 9 out 10 customers ....that came in ... we're greeted like family. One lady i talked to mentioned that she and sister have been coming to Amor Indio for 20plus years... now THATS a great recommendation. It was evident that many customers were long time customers... and some where second generation .. i can understand why.... service was wonderful and my friends and I, lingered for a very long time .. definitely can't wait to return. Still holding strong!!! This place is still very good and authentic in flavor and presentation. Today we had the chili verde (green chili pork) with rice and beans. We also had the mole plate this was a meal for two. Everything was so delicious. This place is definitely authentic in taste and flavor. A must try is you are a goodie. Try the chicken mole and or the Chile Rojo or the chili verde. Don't be put off by the looks of this very small place that needs some upgrades. The price is right and although a little weathered it's very clean and presentable. They are currently serving in Togo containers easier to take home. Come by and give it a try. Went to this establishment after not having been there for over 25 years. The food and drinks are mediocre. The staff helpful and pleasant. They are now charging a fee to use a credit card as form of payment. I was told it is on the menu but it is not in a conspicuous spot. Was not informed when I placed my credit card on the tray. We live right down the street and decided to try out something new. Of all the Mexican restaurants I searched for on Yelp, this seemed like the best choice. There is a big parking lot with a lot of spaces. Once we entered, we were cheerfully greeted by the bartender and our server brought us to our table right away. The interior gives a cozy family-owned vibes with carpet flooring and comfy booth seats. The complimentary chips and salsa was the bomb and probably the best salsa I have had in a while. We had a blended and on the rocks margarita at $6 which is a steal. Both were delicious and we will consider getting the pitcher next time for a bigger party. The special burrito had plenty of meat inside and will definitely fill you up, I ended up taking about 1/5 to go because I couldn't finish. The medium plate with two choices Chile Relleno and enchilada were also good but we will probably try something else instead of the Chile relleno due to not really knowing what it was in the first place and personal preference. (I am asian and mild lactose intolerant lol) It was really cheesy. Enchilada was great and would order again. The hot dark green salsa/sauce was pretty spicy just how I like it and added a nice kick to the meal. They threw in 2 large salads and the utensils and plates they provided were good quality. I loved their other restaurant, Caramba, and miss it so much. Came in for dinner on a Saturday evening since I had heard good things about Amor from several friends. The place is in a industrial area so parking and getting a booth was a breeze. The waiter started the three of us off with chips and salsa which were yummy but I felt the salsa was just on the mild side and I prefer a kick to my salsa. I went with a sangria which was just OK - it didn't contain any fresh fruit. The menu has a nice variety of choices but I ended up going with the combo - a Chile relleno, cheese enchilada and shredded hard beef taco. The relleno was the stand out for me but overall everything was yummy and even the beans and rice were really good here. I realized the food at Amor Indio is not overly salty which I prefer. My brother ordered the special burrito loco and it was gigantic! He raved about it! For you margarita fans they have a $3.50 single shot and are good too. In conclusion Armor Indio is a solid choice for Mexican food and has been around for over twenty years. The service was stellar and the place is very clean. read more
