Amor Indio - the Long Island was great and one of the only places around with homemade salsa and a choice for spicy salsa.

My husband and I moved to the area about 5 years ago. When driving by we saw a sign that said,…read more"Best margaritas in town". I was like "Oh I'll be the judge of that!" OMG they showed up and showed out! Their Cadillac and mango margaritas are my favorite. Seriously the best margaritas in town. Now for the food, just as good as the margaritas! I love their enchiladas and shredded beef tacos (they don't skimp on the cheese ) I've never had a bad dish. The service is amazing! The staff have become like family and it happened pretty early on. There is a huuuge local following for Amor Indio. I've met so many people from my community and it's so nice to see the same faces in a Friday night.

The service was very good, as all staff we interacted with were friendly and the drinks and food came out quickly, but the food was only okay. FOOD & DRINKS: We received a complimentary basket of chips and salsa. I love a smooth salsa and this one was delicious. We started with a couple small Margaritas ($7 ea.), one on the rocks and the other blended. Tasty and strong! For lunch we tried the Camaron Mojo Ajo ($22.50) and the Enchiladas Suizas ($21.25). The shrimp in garlic sauce was tasty, but the enchiladas were covered with grated Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, which was not what I was expecting. In Mexico City, they serve them with a melted Oaxaca, Manchego, and Mozzarella cheeses. Now, I did look at several online recipes, and many called for Monterey Jack, but to me the flavor wasn't the same. The shredded chicken could have used a little more seasoning. Also, I ordered a second small Margarita but was charged for a double ($15). It did seem like twice the tequila, but in the small glass, it was super strong! Overall, I wasn't super impressed, but I would be willing to give them one more try.

I would've rated this a 5 star but had to knock one star off…read more I came with my family who tried the place just a day before and told us how amazing it was so we had to try it out. It was next to the mall so we can hangout before and after dinner. It was confusing, the building of the place is connected to another restaurant on the other side so we didn't realize until after parking and had to earl around to find the entrance. Upon entering, it was dark and resembled a bar setting, a little stuffy and loud. Luckily our table was outside so after sitting, it wasn't as loud. We were a pretty large group, we got chips and salsa on the table and our other half group was running a bit late. So we ordered for the whole table and kept a menu in case the m others want to order too. The reason for the one star off is how hard it was to get a server to help, we got plates for our food but no utensils, we wanted more chips but someone had to point out another server will help instead, and only one (maybe manager) was really helpful and quick but we only saw them once. Maybe it was busy so they were all working but we felt a bit ignored for a while. My uncle wanted to order a breakfast dish but we didn't realize breakfast was only until a certain time because our server said no breakfast. We ordered a lot of food too, enough to bring back for us all to have lunch the next day. We got Tablón el Paisa, Molcajete regular, and other dishes across the other table. The cheese was super delicious when hot, once it's cold it's hard to share without a knife. My favorite is the quesadilla I used to make a burrito out of all the meats and guacamole. The pork was delicious and my son ate a lot of it. The bacon shrimp was a bit hard, chewy, and dry, had to dip it in sauce. Everything else was delicious and would definitely comeback but on a less busy day to see if service is better! Restrooms were inside and so a bit of a walk from the patio into a log hallway.

Since then we've felt absolutely nauseous and my two sons eventually vomited this morning around 5:00AM. My boys had the kids pizza with fries and a free ice cream that came with the kids order, I ordered the taquitos appetizer. The only food items all three of us shared were the chips and salsa, the french fries that came with the pizza, and the ice cream. Have never liked El Pescador, only went to watch the Mundial, but now getting possible food poisoning has been the icing on top. Will not be eating here any time soon, hopefully ever again. Also, total was like $50 for a kids meal and appetizer, which genuinely weren't good. I took the majority of our food home as left-overs.
