My son and met up here, for his birthday breakfast. He visits this place from time to time. This was my first eating here. We were told to seat ourselves. Right away, we were greeted with chips n salsa and menus. Our drink and food order was taken right away. My son had Chile Verde Chilaquiles with a Coke. I had Huevos Divorciandos Desanyunos and coffee. Both plates were portioned very well. Each plates could have been shared, that's how big they are. Both dishes were great. This restaurant does offer both indoor and outdoor dining. So why the 3 stars??? Service. After we received our food, we were checked on once. Very disappointed, had a Crab tostada and it was spoiled and smelled so bad, pick up order so didn't notice until after I left. It comes to a simple recipe that always works but few restaurants strive for, great customer service. The food was homestyle good Mexican food. Not amazing but it was really good. The cafe de olla absolutely hit the spot. I will gladly come back just for the coffee. The menudo was really good, and just the right sized portion. I had to leave after they served our drinks (waters &soda). First they sat us down in a dirty booth. I asked to have it wiped down. They looked annoyed and took longer than usual. I'm sorry but I don't want to sit in a dirty booth with crumbs and food on the table. The server with heavy makeup kept ignoring us then...finally they brought chips and salsa. The salsa was a watery green salsa & was halfway used. They never brought us our alcoholic beverages. Mind you the server with extremely heavy makeup kept looking over to our table and ignoring us. Never have i had such a bad experience like that at this restaurant. But that used salsa was it for me. We had to leave. I will not be going back EVER. read more

Let me start off by if I could give no stars I would. We were seated party of 3 and had our taken. Nothing complicated basic Mexican breakfast. We literally waited 30 mins for one plate to come out. Serve didn't bring the tortillas to them meal for about another 20 mins when the 2nd pate came out and the first plate was already cold. By this time it's been 50 mins and 3rd plate has not come out. I was upset and told the waitress to cancel my order. I asked to speak to the manager who then told me to go ahead and leave. No professionalism at all. He even walked by the table where my friends were trying to eat their cold food since we had already waited so long saying I told you could leave. This is a very traditional Mexican place, you really can taste it on every dish and it's a traditional family-friendly, and oriented place. It has a very extensive menu with many options to choose from in every category and beverages as well. The place is not that big but almost all the tables are for 6 people which is good for big families. The service was good, there were a few errors in the order but they were quickly corrected without problems, also they were very busy. We went on a Sindahband just had to wait like 10min to be seated and we were 6, you do have to wait in line to be seated though. I've been going to Casa Jimenez since the late '90s. I love their food, especially the buffet options. Since the pandemic, a lot of the locations stopped offering the "all you can eat" but I found the La Puente location still honors it. I ordered the enchiladas suizas and they were delicious the sauce has that lemon taste they're not spicy at all I do recommend them. We tried the mole as well to my taste it wasn't the best it's not sweet and it's not spicy either it has a different taste.
