I just had the eggplant parm sub and it was a 10 out of 10! The eggplant is cooked and prepared in-house. They cut it thin so it stacks perfectly and is easy (and not messy) to bite through. Each piece of eggplant was perfectly cooked. The sauce, which is also made in-house, was tangy with just enough salt and acidity to complement the eggplant, and keep each bite interesting and satisfying. Even the roll was the perfect thickness - not so much bread that you have to work through mouthfuls of bread to get to the good stuff. First off you lose a star by getting the order wrong. Secondly you lose another one when you argue with the customer saying that they are wrong, even though you delivered a pizza and bbq wings when the order was a calzone and buffalo wings. Last but NOT least, you do not make a buffalo chicken pizza or calzone with red sauce. Marinara sauce should not be used for a buffalo chicken pizza, let's just mix red sauce with buffalo sauce...bright idea....that is just sacrilege! As Pizza and Sub shops go, they have a very standard menu that will have most of your favorites. What makes this shop different is fresh, shop-made food. A chicken salad salad came with a lovely and unusual bread roll that can be eaten as is, or stuffed with the salad ingredients to eat it as sandwich and salad. Niso confirmed that they had baked it in the shop. While most pizza and sub shops order pre-made foods, such as chicken salad in bulk, theirs is made in the shop, and it tastes like it. Same for chicken parm, and Niso assured me that all of their foods are fresh shop made. On my first visit I had a nice variation on the usual steak bomb that they called Steak Mafioso. Instead of the usual, it had pepperoni and small chunks of fresh tomato mixed into the beef. Jimmy and Rita used to operate Jimmy's Pizza at this address and phone number, but they earned their retirement, so they sold it to Amer and Niso. The new owners are friendly and pleasant. Service has been fast. At the time of writing this review, their Web site is not yet up, but it is coming. read more

The quality of the ingredients was exceptional, and toppings/portions were generous. Pizza construction/sogginess was my reason for deducting the 2 stars (see below for more details). We ordered delivery: the garden salad, large pepperoni pizza, and large half caliente/half florentine pizza. The pizzas were notably exceptional in terms of the quality of the toppings, which were also very generously applied.... unfortunately, perhaps a little too generously. With also heavily applied sauce and the crust thinning out towards the center, the contents were too heavy and wet for the pizza to hold up to. The moisture soaked underneath the center of the pie as well, so much of the center of the pie was wet so the whole thing was just quite soggy except for the outer crust. Also, one of the toppings on the florentine half was ham, which was large thin slices UNDERNEATH all of the cheese and other ingredients, so biting into it pulled everything else off like pulling a wet soggy rug out. The flavor of everything was great, but construction poor. The pepperoni pizza was also a bit moist/oily on the bottom (see photo), but was not falling apart like the other, and at least edible by hand as a pizza should be. I was extremely impressed with the salad- very high quality ingredients (not your cheapy-iceburg lettuce here!). Also, the salad portion was huge and a great deal for the price. I highly recommend. Overall, the construction of the loaded pizza was way too moist, but the quality of all ingredients was much better than other places in the area. I would consider trying this place again and I'm sure if was not soggy, this place has the potential to be a 5 star pizza place because of the very high quality of ingredients. read more

I like this place a lot. The more good pizza places to choose from in Arlington/Medford, the better. I got a pizza and wings. Pizza had a nice crust (soft but a little bit of chew), and the wings were high quality and crispy. Fairly priced too. I'll happily order from here again. read more

It can be tempting to think of all sub shops / pizza places as being alike, and to some extent they are, as far as overall selections ... but as other reviewers (the more reasonable ones, at least.....for you 1-star reviewers .... are you for real? seriously) have pointed out, this place is different than many other places in the Medford area. Since discovering this place on a whim, it's become a go-to place for pizza, sandwiches, and salads.... haven't found a place nearby that can compete. The prices are fair, the staff is just great and friendly, and maybe most importantly, the food has always been fresh ... including the salads (which seem to be made daily? so far 5 / 5 fresh salads). If you are wondering which reviewers to believe, at least try them once and see / taste for yourself. The large veggie pizza was a bit expensive at 18$. It was mediocre. The crust was thin, which I normally would like, but it was so... cracker like and boring. This place is new. The owner is super nice. I come here and pick up take out pretty often as it's close to my work. Their pizza is great thin crust Italian pizza. Not Greek pizza! Their salads are good quality and super fresh. My husband has tried the gyros and also says their really good. This is a new spot that replaced Jimmy's which had been around for decades so I wanted to try a slice. The first time I was walking by around 5:30 in the evening and decided to pop in and grab a quick slice.... Except they didn't have any slices ready or even have a slice pie in the oven. I've worked as a pizza maker at multiple restaurants, and this is an inexcusable, especially at 5:30 in the evening the busy time when you have a lot of foot traffic coming by and people in a hurry trying to grab a quick slice. So obviously I left, I'm not going to wait 10 minutes for a slice, you need to have it ready, I don't care if you grab it with your bare hands and throw it on a paper plate, a slice is a slice just give it to me. About a week later I was walking by again, this time they had a slice by ready and the guy at the counter was very friendly. The slice was a little expensive either $2.50 or $3 and it had too much cheese for my liking. It could be my bias as I prefer thin crust Italian pizza to Greek pizza... and I know some pizza makers tend to put more cheese on slice pies than if I were to order a regular "16 inch cheese. I do not often review places but I feel like it is my time to do my part for a business I love. Let me be honest, there is nothing really special about this place. It is not big. It has the typical items you would expect at a pizza joint. However (pardon me for my biases), this is my absolute favorite place to go. The food is very good and priced fairly. My personal favorite is the steak and cheese sub. I have went on a quest in Medford and neighboring cities and so far their steak and cheese is still top of my list. The reason I like this place so much is the people. They always greet me when I come, ask me how I am doing, and just treat me like a friend. Also, sometimes I come up short and I go to put the drink I was going to buy back and they always say "take the drink. It is fine." They are genuinely nice people and that is the reason it has become the new spot for my friends and I. read more
