Large pizza with sausage, onions and red peppers .
Timothy L.

I've been getting pizza here for over ten years and definitely like it. Tonight after a 12 hour day I ordered my usual pizza and stopped by on the way home to pick it up. I got home and it wasn't my order. Called them and spoke to the always nice lady who often answers the phone. She was very apologetic and offered a refund or to delivery a replacement. I opted for a refund and thought that was the end of it. My phone rings a few min later and it was who I assume is the owner as he referred to the woman I spoke to as his employee. No apology from him. He actually asked me if I could bring it back to the store. What? By the time he called I already threw it in the trash from disgust as just the smell of onions makes me want to gag. He said they normally do not give refunds without the pizza returned. Any way, this place is now off my list. No apology from the owner, lacking customer service resolution skills, and thanks for the great capper to my 12 hr day. If it were my business I would hop in my car with the correct pizza or coupon for a free pizza and personally deliver it to the customer's door. See picture for onion laiden pizza in trash. One piece for the dog, the rest recycled for garbage pickup on Friday. Never screw with a man's pizza. Just for clarity, my credit card transaction was voided, so no charge, just wasted time and the disappointment of a once loyal customer trying to support a local biz.

Their was a misunderstanding between the delivery driver and I. I selected cash tip and was told I didn't paid for the food that was delivered to me. I wasn't able to review my order and gave the driver cash 20 plus 4 dollars tip. Unfortunately I learned later that night that my card was actually charged. I believe this should be rectified as soon as possible. I will be calling in the morning when the business is open. Food was great. But I overpaid for services. Resolved Food is great

Pini's Pizzeria: Margherita Pizza, add bacon.

Ordered via GrubHub and it said 55mins til delivery. My food was delivered in 20 minutes, even before the "food is on the way" text hit my phone (I live close by). Ordered the Margherita pizza and plain wings with teriyaki sauce. The pizza looked fantastic and tasted fairly good. The wings came coated in the sauce, was a little disappointed because I wanted them plain for dipping in ranch dressing. The website forced me to choose a sauce though. Price was fairly reasonable for what I received, will likely order again.

Fact: Biggest slice in town. Dude, seriously. Fact: Free delivery! Fact: Most bang for your buck, as far as pizza is concerned. Hands down. Fiction: You're the only one who calls it Penis Pizza. The truth is, I do too. I also noticed that it's in Ball Square. And that it's next to Wang's Chinese. And Woody's Liquor. Yeah, I noticed. Did I mention I'm 12? *giggling like a school girl* (Really though, the pizza is good!)

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

On the day that I moved from Cambridge to Somerville, amidst the ridiculously high piles of cardboard boxes which filled my new apartment, Erick H. and I decided at some point or another to take a break and figure dinner out. Not having to energy to run to Shaw's to fill out completely empty (except for a couple of beer cans) fridge, we decided to settle for pizza. I launched my Yelp for iPhone app and searched for nearby pizza and found Pini's. The reviews were decent, and we proceeded to order a couple of pizzas and some drinks. The woman on the phone was efficient and within about twenty minutes our new doorbell rang and a delivery guy showed up with the goods. This was over a year ago. Since then, needless to say that we've repeated the experience countless times, but without the cardboard boxes littering our apartment. Mostly out of laziness, being too tired to cook, or when the weather was miserable outside. With a quick phone call and a short amount of patience, their thin crust-style, pretty good pizzas arrive. The best part: they aren't too greasy. Some of our favorites include their buffalo chicken pizza which comes with bits of blue cheese on it. For the more simple minded ones out there they still make a more than decent pepperoni one or even a plain cheese one as well. They also have a good amount of sides and appetizers that one can order with it such as their steak & cheese rolls, their mac & cheese bites, spinach rolls, spicy curly fries, and many more. Oh and they also have wings and wraps... All in all this place is a very decent pizza joint although it still has nothing on NY pizza. But that's another story...

Disappointed in the quality of the ingredients. I couldn't tell the difference between this and Dominos or Little Caesars.

But on a Saturday night, the place is mostly empty. Why? Because the people who run it don't understand atmosphere. The lighting is too bright, the decorations are tacky, and the music is cheesy. That is, it's not cool. It's not appealing. The owners need to visit places like Picco, Salty Pig, and Coppa in South End; Jinny's in Newton; or even nearby Semolina in Medford, and then make Real Gusto more like these 21st century places. If not, I'm concerned that Real Gusto will go out of business, and I don't want that to happen. That's why I hope the owners see this review and don't take offense to it and become defensive, but rather hear important feedback from a sincere customer, and modernize, bringing the restaurant toward its potential.

The food + atmosphere + service was awesome. The three of us shared fried calamari and "Artichokes…read morein Rome." The calamari was delish but we wished there was more sauce for them because that was equally delicious. The artichockes, well, I don't think sublime captures the experience. It appeared that Roman style artichokes were wrapped in prosciutto and broiled, where the crispiness of the ham played off the delicate interior of the artichokes like nothing I've had before. The salmon entrée was cooked perfectly (even though I wasn't asked) with just enough medium rare center to be considered a model of how to cook salamon. The sunny rear of the dining room was a perfect spot to enjoy the snow-covered view. I'll be back for dinner soon. Many thanks to Domenico for attending to us.

Ok let me start by saying Im reviewing this based on delivery and during a snow storm... (the…read morereason for the 3 stars) I envision eating IN HOUSE would improve my score CONSIDERABLY... We were tired of being stuck in the house and tired of crappy delivery & wanted "real" food - not pizza shop food and decided despite how shytty all the delivery places have been with their practices of allowing the drivers to make multiple stops (great for the drivers - but lessens quality of food when they are making so many stops and yours is cold when you receive), I digress... we wanted real food we decided to take a chance. Mom asked for Clams Casino and who the hell even has them yet will deliver them - and sure enough we found this place - Had never heard of it before this night. Now I cant go anywhere without ordering a little bit of everything for reference, then I take 2 bites am full and then leave in the fridge for a week & then throw away, I know - not a great practice, Its just how I get down... In addition to the Clams they actually had an artichoke on the menu, you dont find them in too many places so we stocked up on all the things. OMG to start all the food was still hot, not even just warm, but hot... Portions are the Biggest, but I mean we had more than enough food. The Clams were good, Great actually, the artichoke - can you see the size of it - INSANE!!! The stuffed mushrooms were tasty but like tiny, so I could take them or leave them. next time... But tasty! THe Pizza wasnt the hottest actually and I think if it was like a tad bit warmer it would have been a 9.4 (Go Prez), but even less than hot it was GOOOOOD!!!! The pasta was good, the chicken was so flavorful and Broccoli Rabe is like my jam, and the fact that I could swap out the pasta type & broccoli type literally had me quite excited... Skip the Garlic bread! Will DEFINITELY be adding this place to the regular rotation, it was so good and will also be stopping in to try in person!

We shared the arancini and some bread to lap up that sauce - those were absolutely delicious! My husband and I then shared a pizza, which I shamefully forgot to photograph, and the carbonara (which was fun to mix in my own egg). Overall, it was a good and service was quick. The old space felt warm, charming, and welcoming, and the food was consistently great. Since the move, we've tried giving the new location a fair chance and have visited three times. Unfortunately, the overall experience just hasn't been the same. The atmosphere feels much more corporate and lacks the warmth and character that made the original location special. Several menu items have changed, prices have increased significantly, and the food hasn't been as memorable as it once was. The biggest disappointment has been the service. During our most recent visit on a Friday night while my sister was in town, the service was noticeably poor. It felt like our server was simply going through the motions and didn't want to be there. Everyone has off days, but when you're paying premium prices for a night out, you expect at least a friendly and attentive experience. We typically enjoy supporting restaurants and are happy to tip generously when the service reflects the experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of expectations. After several attempts to give the new location a chance, we've decided this will likely be our last visit. It's disappointing because we genuinely loved Posto for many years and had hoped the new location would capture some of what made the original so special.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.
