They need to update their hours, because whenever certain employees are working they choose to close from 2:30-3:30am which is beyond inconvenient. And just so you know do you don't waste your time. It's the blue camaro that will be parked out front. So annoying. It's interesting that when other employees are working they don't close from 2:30-3:30... And because there are two workers I don't understand why the close is necessary. Now that this keeps happening I'm going to contact the store manager and advise them of how much business they are loosing when only these certain employees are working. 1-24-19 update. although they still have those really weird hour of being closed in the morning I have now changed my schedule to ensure that I am getting gas at night, since then I've had a very pleasurable experience. We have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that ARCO has opened another gas station in the area. This one is on Clayton Road, the heavily-traveled main road between downtown Concord and Clayton. Apartments, condos, and shopping centers stretch for several miles. And near Clayton is this station. It typically has the same prices as the other ARCOs in the area - low, low, low. Bring cash or debit card, they do NOT accept credit cards. An AM/PM is also included. It doesn't look big from the outside. But when you walk in, it's a full-service convenience store, with everything you're familiar with. And if their food isn't enough, you can walk next door to Popeye's, and I sure hope Popeye's has fixed their management issues from when they first opened. The bad news: It's a small lot, so it is very difficult to drive here. There's not much ARCO can do about it, and what they did is the best they can do. They fit 12 filling slots into the space, so it's medium volume. There are also parking places next to the building. But if you have a large vehicle, you got trouble comin'. ARCO is in a very convenient location. If you're going the "wrong way" on Clayton Road, it's still easy to get in; just make a left turn onto Ayers and you're there. Be prepared to use all the knowledge you got in Driver's Ed regarding defensive driving, though. read more

I was on a mission to find some coffee before my nearby doctor's appointment, and Lucky Supermarket doesn't brew their own, so I walked around the block back to am/pm gas station. It's a Tuesday morning and their were four employees walking around, working, stocking shelf items, and ringing up customers. I chose a dark roast coffee and went to add half& half, but the carton was empty. One lady happily brought me a fresh one. A girl rang up my less-than-$2 purchase (shelley? Sandy?) Man... I am honest to god, SHOCKED at how ridiculously priced the items in there store is. Let's compare. At all other local gas stations that sell the F'Real Ice creams, I usually get 6 at a time, fitting them into 2 of there XL soda cups. Other gas stations consistently cost around $20. This gas station cost $29 F'ing dollars. Can you believe that?? Damn near $30 bucks for ice creams. A royal rip off! Also, few nights ago when I went it, I was making me 6 F'Real Ice creams, putting them in the two XL cups, the younger Indian man at the register was very obviously watching me closely as I was doing so the whole time, I also grabbed, two bags of gummies, one food bowl, a cookie, and a thing of coolant (which my car at first harshly rejected... that's a first) and asked for $30 gas. Total came out to almost $80.... Was a little shocked but went to pump gas, nothing came, went back in and he said he didn't put the gas on that charge. Soooo $80 for a little food and coolant? Get the F out of here. That's insane. The younger Indian guy printed my receipt out again and attempted to quickly explain all the charges, quickly mumbling over a few incoherently, I said OK and paid separate for the gas... went out to pump the gas and relooked at the receipt, it just didn't make any sense, how could that amount of food and a $10 coolant cost about $80 F'n dollars, I saw I was charged for two iced coffees which I never got, and pretty sure I saw a few other on there I hadn't purchased either but was heated with just the iced coffees, I went back in, and claimed I never bought two iced coffees, clearly frustrated and annoyed by this point, and this arrogant, smug and so self assured Indian boy kept saying yes I did a few times, and said you walked over here with two iced coffees from the machines. I was like seriously.... YOU WATCHED ME GET THOSE 6 F'REAL ICE CREAMS AND PUT THEM INTO THOSE TWO CUPS WITH YOUR OWN EYES, so you think I just walked up to the counter with 6 empty ice creams cups having magically disappeared and now all a sudden slipped in two iced coffees after that... I couldn't believe it. I then basically got the told I should have said I put it into those cups. LOL. But the man watched me the whole time. You'd think if he was so intently watching me, that this wouldn't have been some mystery at check out. Plus tacking on things. I was pissed off. A complete waste of money that night. I am an international student here, and I went to them yesterday to add gas in my small car. I have that car one week now, and I am still not very used on how I have to place the gas nozzle to the gas tank. I didn't know that there is a specific way to place the nozzle into the tank so that the gas starts filling the tank. In Europe the nozzles work differently. Well long story short, I was not placing the nozzle in the right way to get the gas i needed. I went in there to them 3 times, asking if i am doing something wrong, or if my debit card had an issue and I couldn't get my gas. The female cashier with the long hair, was very rude and laughing at my face ironically. She was not answering my questions and she was saying: " I don't understand what is wrong, I do not understand what you are saying, the nozzle works fine". What I think was rude, is when employees like those, do not give a damn think to help you and at the same time they laugh at you. Nice customer service! the last think I wanted was to have a cashier laughing at me because simply I was not familiar with something and I needed instructions. This is not a way to help customers. Never going there again. I live approximately 1.5 miles from here and I'd be more of a regular here if it wasn't for a few things. First off the gas pump layout is poorly designed causing for backed up traffic, including on Ayers road for those wishing to simply pass by. Also, they're always out of coffee early. Today I came for a cup of high voltage at 645am, and it was out. I came specifically for that, otherwise I'd make coffee at home. But there's plenty of workers standing around laughing and doing oddball things, no one staying on top of the coffee considering this is coffee rush hour. Cashiers are abrasive and less than welcoming, no singles of beer, no credit cards. Overall it's not worth the stress and traffic jam. read more

At this time I am writing a bad review for an employee working a late shift at 9 pm named Leo, that was very disrespectful while I was trying to purchase gasoline. I calmly waited in line as there were several people in line. Leo was busy talking to another cashier while he was taking another person's order and it was clearly more important than the customers. He clearly did not value his employers time or the customers. Once I got up to the register and handed him money he just said you can wait your turn in a disrespectful way as the guy in front of me was already leaving. He seemed to be disturbed that I was handing him money while he was talking to the other cashier. Then he kind of laughed and looked at the other cashier that he had been talking to as if he was trying to show off to him. Im usually a kind and passive person, but his nonchalant attitude was offensive. A few choice words came out of my mouth as he tried to taunt me some more like it was all a big joke to him. I proceeded to pump my gas then walked back into the store to get the managers name and number. The other cashier gave me the information needed while Leo asks if I'm going to call the manager and report it. I said yes. He laughed and said "good luck to you" mockingly, as if it was a big joke. The only reason I give it one last star is because it's always packed but not so bad. I'm visiting from another state for work and my flight flew in late, went here to grab some items as I am staying at a hotel near by, and the worker here was extremely rude. He acted like I wasn't welcome here because I came in before closing. He didn't talk to me at all when I went up to the register. He didn't ask me if I wanted a bag when I had many items, and after paying , I asked for a bag , he got very angry with a very mean face and grunted, then threw a bag on the counter and walked away and went to the back. This ARCO is terrible. The night attendant wouldn't open the locked bathroom for my 6 yr old child. Claims it's closed from 10pm-6am. However, 20 min earlier I was in there and they were unlocked when I used it. The attendant told me to "go home" but we had 30 min of driving and then he told me to "get the fuck out" when I asked repeatedly if he could open the bathroom for my son. I have been to this particular gas station several times as I do live in the area, I approached a gentleman - term used very lightly - he closed the shop for one full hour but allowed an 'allegedly' pregnant girl in, I did not necessarily have a problem with that however when the store was reopened after waiting 45 minutes in the parking lot I asked for the customer service number which was not given to me he was not wearing a name tag and as I left the store he called me a 'fing f@ggot'.. when I asked him if he called me such a name he denied it, I am currently in the process of filing a police report litigation will follow. I would highly advise anyone in the Concord area to use a different gas station the gentleman was white with glasses and as stated he would not give me his name nor was he wearing a name tag. The staff at this Arco stinks! They are rude and lazy. We always buy our gas with gift cards we buy, as Arco donates money to our school, when gas cards are purchased from the school. However, we always have odd amounts left on cards, once our tank is full. Today we had two cars with amounts of just over $5 and one over $1, plus a full $50 card. However, the staff and owner, Raj do NOT know how to combine the amounts and always say their system doesn't do that...NO, THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT!! We've called Arco customer service and they say it can be done, but the station needs to call. But, Raj nor anyone else will get off their lazy ××× to find out and actually learn something! TOO MUCH WORK FOR THEM! So, we have to pump gas for a buck, hang the pump back up, go back in with another low balance card, pump again, then go back in and use another card, then pump again! !! Meanwhile, traffic backs up and lones get longer and longer....which can easily lead to traffic accidents at this busy station and intersection... ALL BECAUSE OF THEIR LAZINESS!! I have been going to ARCO AM PM Clayton location for many years. Every time I go in to pay and buy gas or miscellaneous items the ppl are super rude. Never say Hi never say thank you. Everytime I get off work and try to gas up (late at night) they put up hand written signs that say "closed" and put all the pumps on "Reserved." And all they're doing is sitting on their asses behind the counter looking at people as they try to gas up smirking at them. What the hell kind of business does this? I get they need lunch breaks, but with 3 people sitting around inside I'm pretty damn sure they can stagger them and NOT sit on their asses doing nothing for a solid hour. There is no signage that states their business hours - all it says is 24 hours. I wouldn't be pissed off if they actually had a sign with their hours so I would know when to come, but putting up hand written signs tells me they aren't supposed to be closing the store for those hours. If I could give a lower score I would. These guys cheated me out of $20 worth of gas. This is the station I almost always use. Last year, I had a charge on my bank card from someone I did not know. I was told it was probably from a gas station, so I switched all my gas purchases to cash only. Two weeks ago, I gassed up at this station and gave the lady two $20 dollar bills, and said I wanted $40 on pump #2. The pump shut off at $20, so I went back in and told the lady it shut off, but I gave her $40. She denied it and we got into a big discussion with one of the workers. He said they would check the video surveillance camera the next day and for me to leave my name and phone number. They never called, so I went back to discuss it again. He said everything balanced out, so I asked if they checked the video. He couldn't or wouldn't say they did. I told him I would never gas up there again, and will write about this on Yelp. These guys "took" $20 from me, so I'm calling them out as dishonest at best. If anyone else has had an experience like this, please write it down on Yelp.
