So I didn't want to just be a negative ninny or a complaining Carol.I did a recent review about the fastrip in Cal City that has no hand sanitizer and I've asked countless times. I went to the ampm in Mojave on my way to work and I was happy to see that they have hand sanitizer inside the ampm and also right near the gas pump outside.Unlike, the fastrip in Cal City where they are just perpetrating and have a dispenser for decoration while selling expensive ass hand sanitizer. The guy working here was nice. Other than that, this place is a disaster. Single restroom is designated for non-gender specific users, and isn't even remotely clean enough for your daughter to use. More graffiti than supplies. Multiple signs remind you restroom is for paying customers only. The soda fountain was completely out of order on our last pit stop. Mojave markup was noted. The neighborhood is like a demilitarized zone, and angry loners and drifters roam the small parking lot and panhandle while you're trying to pump gas. Skip this one. Or buy a pack of gum so you can go catch the vapors in the restroom. read more

The staff here at this place is completely rude. My husband needed the restroom and he was told in a rude tone it's for customers only...we were in the process of picking out our drinks so I think that makes us customers....then when he went up to it again while I was paying she said it was being cleaned except there was no one cleaning it and there was nothing in the door like usual to indicate the cleaning was happening...instead of just walking out like I wanted to I went ahead with the purchase...I only had a big bill and she rudely said she didn't have change and then when I pulled out my card to pay in the same rude tone she snapped at me "No cash back" I should have just walked out but I have decided this place has gotten the last dollar I will ever spend there...my question is how hard is it to be nice...Apparently to hard for these people... read more

The Mexican lady with the Calvin Klein bag at the counter was incredibly rude. I would give this gas station zero stars if I could. I planned on buying a few items since I was on the way home from a trip up north, and requested to use the bathroom. This lady at the counter looked at me and my African-American best friend up and down and said we were not allowed to use the bathroom unless we bought something.. which is something I am OK with and understand, but after the fact let 4 people use the restroom in front of us who walked in and walked out without purchasing anything. read more

STATS: Drive up gas pumps (Duh) Fully stocked large convenient store ESSENTIALS: Something that needs emptied Something that needs filled Cash/credit card EXPERIENCE: Driving back from a weekend of hiking in Mammoth Lakes, drinking lots of fluids to replenish all that were lost on trail, hiker bud and I stop here to return some beverages. I meandered around the convenience store waiting my turn and what do I find? Lots of Scooby Snacks and beverages, for both the adult in me as well as the kid in me. What else do my eyes see? oodles and oodles of Meaty Jerky options. This am/pm has big sticks, little sticks, and resealable bags filled with Turkey Jerky, Applewood Bacon Jerky, BBQ Pork Jerky, and different flavors of Beef. And get this, it's over $2.00 less than the bags of the one flavor one meat Gus's. I purchased the Applewood Bacon and the BBQ Pork. The bacon is ok, just tasted like slightly undercooked bacon, but the BBQ Pork, which I didn't try until last night, YUM-O!!! So, if you're ever in the Mojave hood and and have a hankering for some jerky, sweat your way from your air conditioned car through the 100+ degree weather and cool off in this air conditioned, well stocked and relatively clean am/pm. Staff members are friendly, but some juvenile delinquents have etched some unidentifiable words in the lavatory. Oh and don't forget your personal seat covers or whatever you do to protect your assets, and for goodness sakes, if you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatie. Keep in mind that there is a $.35 charge for credit card purchases. Next time I'm in the Mojave hood, I'll be stopping here to stock up on some meaty products for the trail. read more

This ARCO, located on the Northeast corner of Sierra Highway (14) and Mono, sells gas very inexpensively, though you'll need to have cash or a debit card on hand as they don't accept credit cards. It is very conveniently located with easy access whether you're headed North or South There is a Chase ATM inside if you need to get cash. The fountain had several diet soda options including Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, and Diet Pepsi. They were running a special on water that was a very good deal. The cashier was a bespectacled young man who was vivacious and kept up a cheerful banter the entire time. The ONLY negative about this store - which kept it from being 4 or 5 stars, was that it had but one single restroom. Why was this a problem? Well, for starters, the handle was broken off the inside of door (see my photo). It's a bit disconcerting to close the door of a restroom THEN notice there is no handle on the door. It's like something out of one of those slasher films. Even worse, the door had filthy scratches around the door handle and the bolt lock that looked like someone had scratched it up trying to get out (maybe while being chased by a serial killer, perhaps?) Luckily, you could just push the door open (preferably using a paper towel to shield you from grime), but it was still unacceptable IMHO. In addition, there was toilet paper all over the floor. If they fix the door handle and maintain the restroom a little better it would definitely be a 4 or 5 star stop. read more

Pleasant staff, clean restrooms, the fuel prices are on par with bigger cities (would have expected a higher cost given the nowhere nature of Mojave between Barstow and Bakersfield). All told, a worthwhile detour from Highway 58 (since it itself has been detoured from traveling through Mojave proper these days). read more

Their pumps are broken and often or fussy. Receipt printers don't print you need to go in. They do not allow customers water or ice for their own drink cups. You need to only buy water. Employees are rude. read more

Ugh, where to begin. Be warned, these guys DO NOT take credit at all, and if you are on EBT, you're also out of luck. Took them over 15 minutes to do a shift change, and they didn't seem to be hurrying at all even though there were at least ten customers waiting. Once the shift change was over the employees were pleasant enough. As long as you're not trying to use credit, I guess this place is passable. This station is one of the worst AMPM'sI have ever been to. Their card readers at the pumps seldom are working, which means you have to go inside the store to pay for your gas. There are often lines to wait, especially in the morning. The pumps run really slow most of the time. I just stopped to use a pump that had the card reader working. I was there for 10 minutes and I only got 7 gallons of gas in that amount of time. I finally had to just shut it off, and leave, because it will make me late if I wait for another 5 gallons. I have brought the card reader issue to the staff's attention multiple times, and even told them that I buy gas 2 to 3 times a week, and they lose a lot of my business because the pumps are never working. They said it is a corporate issue. I don't know if that's true, but often I will stop at another gas station in Mojave and pay more money, because this becomes so inconvenient. read more

My friends and I past by this AMPM more than a few times a year. The store is generally very well organized and clean. The bathroom is as clean as you can get it after all the tagging for an ampm next to a highway. I usually see the same employee working. Slender man with goatee and a short woman with glasses. Both are always providing excellent customer service and I see them keeping the store in order. A bit much for an ampm review but the employees deserve recognition :) read more
