Bad billing practices. Look they do great work. My problem is the billing. In the fall they billed me for work I asked them not to do. When I got the bill, I sent them an email asking for them to remove that part. No response. They continue to send me the bills for it till I sent an angry email. They apologize, fix the bill and we move on. Six months later and there is a 3 month gap where they don't send me a bill. When it finally comes, I pay all three months online. Right before I go on vacation, they don't come to the house. I figure I messed up the week. I come back from vacation and no work was done. I email to ask my account status. No response. I receive a bill. It says I did not pay those three previous months. So I recheck everything and find that the online payments all have the same invoice number and it is not mine. Crap. Something got messed up in the online system and it looks like I paid someone else's bill. I email them with copies of my payments, which I also verified were withdrawn from my bank account. No response. Two months later I have moved on to another company and figure this place just doesn't care. Then I get another bill saying I still owe for the three months minus my previous $70 payment. What???!!!!! I did not make a $70 payment on that date. So it looks like my payments don't go to my account, but someone else's does? Obviously something is seriously jacked up with this account. I understand mistakes happen, but it is the lack of response that is causing this conflict to escalate, just like it did last time. There you go. Good lawn work, bad billing. read more

I visit Yelp alot when looking for different companies. AMS received alot of positive reviews. I sent a email late sunday night, Eli was quick to return my email the next morning. His crew came out quoted me a price and was able to clean up my landscaling in the back yard that same day. Only took about an hour maybe and hour and a half. My fiance and I just purchased a home and needed the landscape cleaned up. We also requested the irrigation system to be looked at, and the lights that are wired in the yard. Eli was quick to get his crew out to give us an estimate (which was a very reasonable price for 11,000 sq ft property) and they got to work right away. Mike was very nice and explained everything to us. He reset the sprinkler system for us (twice) and checked to see if the lighting was receiving any electricity before giving us an estimate on that. He was apologetic about my overall experience, and offered me a refund to show that they stand behind their services, and that customer satisfaction is important to them. I was actually impressed by this; this is beyond what I expected. I would still be cautious if you choose to use them. Very very impressed. Prior to AMS, I would have to cally landscaper (went through a bunch) incessantly just to get th out (almost like they were doing ME a favor by coming to my house). I have been using AMS at my commercial building since 2002. They are on time, quick but attention to detail with a noticeable clean-up job of debris, leaves, etc. I have also used them to do a complete landscape plan for one of my homes in the past. They even replaced a tree that died over the winter. If you are shopping around you will find that AMS is on the more expensive side, however in Arizona you really do get what you pay for in terms of landscaping and maintenance. read more

The old landscaping company thought the schedule was some kind of rough outline. If the made it out a few days give or take, if they got most of it done... they cashed the check. We had to change and AMS looked good. To the best of my knowledge they have been on schedule. I say that because landscaping has become so effortless I don't even know when they work. We discover there is a problem (like a leak in the timer box) because AMS sends a digital picture, the prior company waited for us to tell them when we thought there was a problem. AMS was doing a great job for the HOA, but I had not considered using them for my yard. I LIKE playing in the yard. Had some things come up and the yard was starting to get less attention. I had to do something and AMS was it. They did not show me up by getting grass to grow in the shade or perform miracles like year round green grass, but they are getting close. The great thing is now I play with my landscaping - they do the work. If your HOA has no green thumb; if you do, but it is busy - I recommend you call AMS. read more

Only before AND after pictures would tell the actual story. Huge yard cleanup! HUGE! Immediate response from Eli and he asked permission to take pictures (as I was not home). We did everything else via email. I had to wait a month for the actual work because I had other things going on, NOT because of AMS, who would've been out within a week or so. Unlike others, I did not get competing bids. I read the reviews and noticed that AMS had long time satisfied customers. That tells me a lot. His bid was fair for the work needing to be done. 3 men showed up, did a fabulous job. We then did a "walk through" and they thinned the forest of bamboo a little more at my request. They even blew the whole (very long) patio. You say "so what?" We'll, I'll tell you: there was a pile of debris/dirt that I had swept up but was sitting there a long time. Not in the bid, they just did it. It was no skin off their backs to do that little extra, but most companies I've dealt with only do what they bid and not an ounce more. I hope Eli posts my before and after pictures for you all so you can see for yourself! I am not quick to give out perfect scores on any review site. I contacted AMS because of all the rave reviews on Yelp, and I must say I was pretty disappointed. I was mainly looking for someone to clean up all the pine needles, leaves, and other debris in the backyard. I expressed this in my initial quote request. Although they did respond quickly and showed up when promised, it was apparent that they paid very little attention to my request. Not only did they do a sloppy job clearing out the backyard, they also left a big pile of leaves at the side of the house. I had to contact them to come back to clean it up and to get rid of the pine needles and leaves as I had originally requested. The second time around they still did only a mediocre job, but at least they got rid of the pile of leaves. This wouldn't bother me as much if I wasn't paying them nearly $50 per man hour (I was charged $95 and two people came for about 50 minutes), but I'm pretty sure I could hire a high-schooler for $20/hr to do a better job. Two weeks later I came home to a freshly mowed lawn that I did not order (I specifically requested a one-time clean up). I thought maybe they did it out of goodwill because they were trying to make up for the first time. But then I got the bill and they had charged me $55 extra for a 'bi-weekly service' (i.e. mowing my lawn). Ouch! No thanks. read more

I did my homework and tried to make a good choice (licensed, bonded, insured), but was disappointed by the quality of service. At my first routine maintenance appointment, 1) the sprinklers were not turned on to evaluate how they were watering the lawn, 2) weeds in the lawn were just flattened by the mower or cut but left sitting on the lawn (which was not overgrown, nor had the crew exceeded their time at my home), and 3) weed spray was applied carelessly and killed a spot of my lawn. Although the company did not charge me because I was not satisfied, they did not seem to care, unfortunately. read more

The reason I called AMS is because they seemed to have good reviews. When I called and requested a quote from them they quoted me $100.00 every other week. I thought that was high but signed up anyway and started having AMS service our property. What I didn't know is that that only includes mowing...thats it. I stressed to Melissa the scheduler that I needed a set day every time as we have dogs and would need to keep them locked inside on those days. She said that wouldn't be a problem. Every time a service reminder was sent...it had the incorrect date so I ended up having to call and email and stress again how that is not the date we picked and had on file. She would apologize and say that she had corrected it but never did she send out a corrected service reminder. That made me wonder if they were actually going to show up on the designated day. This happened every other week and every other week I was on the phone with Melissa explaining the same thing. This went on for over 3 months. She then informed me that they no longer had a crew in our area on the date we had on file. I said ok let's pick a different date. Here we are today I left the house and locked the dogs up only to find out that the crew showed up to take photos to provide us an estimate on trimming the trees. My husband was able to talk to them over our ring camera system and they informed him that they were going to mow the lawns today. When I came home I could immediately see that no lawn care was performed. So I locked my dogs up all day for nothing. This is also the reason why I cancelled all future services at our property. This is not rocket science. I should not have to constantly follow up and make sure that AMS has the correct date to service our property. I also was never really satisfied with the care. I felt like the landscapers could have cut our grass shorter and always was telling them to do that. Not really sure how they have so many good reviews because my experience was anything but good. read more
