She was so so knowledgeable about products, gave me step by step instructions on what she was doing throughout the facial, and offered a very inviting, calm, enjoyable space to receive the service! My skin looked like a glazed donut by the time she was done and I haven't had any breakouts or reactions to the products they used. (Which sometimes will occur.) I feel it's worth the money and when I'm back in town intend on booking another facial there! They have a plethora of services offered as well so it could be your one stop shop for all things self care related. They do sell products but they're not pushing them down your throat like some salons can do. I'd recommend to friends and family looking for a high quality spa.

I was a little disappointed as I had scheduled my cut a few weeks well in advance. However, they made it right and fit me in that same day with a senior stylist. I had Abigail as my stylist, and she was just a darling. She was so gentle and careful with my hair. She took exactly the length that I wanted off, and did beautiful long layers for me. I loved how she really took her time and listened to what I wanted done. Will definitely miss her when she graduates in June and any salon will be lucky to have her. Know before you go: State Street garage is great to park in and only a few minutes walk from the salon. If you want a weekend appointment, I'd book well in advance. They have Aveda products for sale in the front, and are always running specials. Give or take about an hour to an hour and a half for your appointment if you're getting a cut. Don't forget to try a cup of the Aveda tea at your appointment. It's delicious!!

I went today and honestly should've left when unnoticed them. When I left, I honestly didn't inspect the nails because I get a men's manicure buff and shine. Simple, impossible to mess up. 8/10 nails are completely scratched by a machine she used and not buffed. When I got home I noticed, called and sent pics asking for just a refund of the mani (not even the auto 20% tip I give all service people as I understand the nature of the business). The owner refused. Honestly, terrible business practices. I plan to issue a formal complaint with the board of cosmetology once I've reviewed the regulations and identified all the problems. For instance: incorrect usage of barbicide; the washing machine front load door was entirely white (even though it is supposed to be see through) because it is entirely calcified with mold and mildew (I didn't notice till leaving when the door to the laundry was left open); dirt and grime on the walls of the bathroom; incorrect storage of supplies; cross contamination galore. Totally disappointing. Do not go here!
