Got a signature facial done with Abbagail and this time it was amazing. They provided clear guidance on where to meet my facialist after changing and my service started smoothly. Abbagail was awesome asking my allergies, and explained every time when a product will be applied to my face, the potential effect such as temporary tingling, and offered options based on my needs. My shoulder and hand treatment was also fabulous. After my facial was finished, she immediately handed me bottled water. My face is so glowing according to my mom afterwards. The duration is as described. Last time there was an error with the third party booking app indicating the wrong duration. This time all resolved and I appreciate the communication and their willingness to address the concerns and make customers happy with their experience here. read more

First off let me say the only reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is because of the lack of customer service from the owner who was running the front desk. I was not greeted when I came in (yes, she was with someone but she didn't even make eye contact with me, nod or acknowledge me in any way). She was very friendly with the girl she was helping but when she went to help me she seemed really cold. No smile, no "how's your day", nothing. It was the same way when I left. She didn't ask me how my service was or invite me back or to re-book. I'm hoping she was just having an off day. That said, my pedicure was absolutely wonderful! My nail tech explained all the services they offer, she did a very relaxed, caring and beautiful pedicure and it's holding up incredibly well. The nail tech was friendly and so sweet. She made me feel like I was getting a pedicure from a friend, not a new stranger. That said, she didn't overdo the conversation. It didn't feel forced or sales-y. We had a great conversation and I will definitely be booking all of my pedicures with her from now on. The price was incredibly reasonable too. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive for me. I've already scheduled a facial to try their facial services out and look forward to that. The young woman who did my pedicure also does facials (but unfortunately her schedule didn't work with mine the day I needed it to). I'm hoping I find a second rock star at this place. If the owner would have been more welcoming and grateful for me as a new customer this would have been a perfect 5 star review. Looking forward to coming back next week! read more

My husband purchased a package as a Valentine's/anniversary gift, so I was really looking forward to it. Some staff members were kind (my pedicure and facial technician were both very sweet), but overall the day was disappointing. During the facial, I could hear audio playing (possibly from AirPods) whenever the esthetician leaned in, which made it difficult to fully relax. The massage portion was especially frustrating -- the heated table was broken, the room lighting was bright, the table creaked throughout, and there was no consultation about pressure or areas to focus on. It didn't feel like a professional massage experience. There was also confusion at checkout regarding the prepaid gift card, so I was almost charged twice. I emailed the spa on 2/17 and again on 2/25 hoping to resolve this privately but have not received a response, which has added to the disappointment. read more

This past weekend, I decided to try out European Body Works for their sauna. After integrating infrared sauna in my daily routine during my trip to Europe earlier this year, I decided to find one back at home in Knoxville. When I arrived, Stacy at the front desk gave me a tour of the place: the changing rooms, shower, and where the sauna was situated. I was also given a key for a locker of my choosing to put all my belongings in. After changing into the wrap and robe that I was given, I met Stacy again in the front. We went over to the sauna, where the temperature of my choosing was already set and an ice cold water was waiting for me. For a half hour session, it is $15 and you really can't beat this price or find a nicer facility than this one. I can't wait to come back now, and also try some of their other services. Do NOT go here for waxing services. I received a routine Brazilian wax because my usual spa was booked this week. I have received Brazilian waxes for 18 years and managed a day spa in the early 2000's. I know what to expect and have been a Guinea Pig for new hires fresh out of beauty school to learn until they polish their techniques for clients. I expect the same professionalism and standard today. This was awful--I've got patches of hair remaining sticky with wax remnants. I'm already starting to bruise in areas. The technique was odd and she started pulling before the wax set thus the cause of the bruising and horrible result. I believe the wax was subpar as well. The woman was unprofessional from the start using slang vocabulary and descriptions. She complained about the wax and switched to another which was worse and left the remnants In the remaining hair in the rushed, botched service. It was her technique that was the biggest problem. For $80 plus tip, I expect a professional, efficient experience which is clearly not valued at this place. Go elsewhere. The interior is run down with worn paint on doors and the exterior isn't well maintained with an overgrown tree prohibiting parking at the space next to the front door. read more

Sure, the name makes it sound like a place you'd take your Benz after an accident, but the European Body Works (EBW) is the real deal. You'll likely drive past it at least once trying to find it. It's actually right next to the Target on Ray Mears Blvd. in a very unassuming building. After a series of really stressful projects, we decided to go in for an hour-long couple's massage. The folks at EBW took great care of us and I got one of the better massages I've ever had. The interior is very nice, relaxing, and provides an air of luxury while you take it easy in your cool robe and slippers socks. With no end of stress in sight, we plan to go back to EBW in the future for more relaxing massages. read more

I just left my hour and a half massage at EBW. The room was freezing cold, and it was only made worse by the therapist's freezing hands and massage oil/lotion. I had to ask for a blanket halfway through my massage. I asked the massage therapist (I think her name was Christy) THREE times for more pressure, and she never did what was asked so I just stopped asking. I cannot even tell I had a massage. I have been a weekly customer of Jojo Han for more than 2 years. Usually I get a 90 min. deep tissue massage, with stretching. She is knowledgeable about muscle groups and how they interact. Jojo is intuitive about tiredness and tension in your body and gifted at working it out. I had gotten a deep tissue massage, pedicure, and a shellac manicure. The massage and pedicure was great but she did horribly on my nails the shellac are all over my cuticles and that's gonna cause it to lift off my nails. Then not even a few hours later 2 nails have an air bubble between the nail and the polish. Just horrible! read more

European Body Works is my favorite place to go for a massage. After trying every spa in Knoxville over the course of 12 years, I finally found the best massage therapist in JoJo Wan. She's incredible. Also, the owner of the salon, Mary, is hospitable and bends over backwards to make an appointment work with my crazy schedule. The location is excellent for those who live near downtown as well as out in Farragut as it is half-way. I encourage you to give European Body Works a try. read more
