I was invited to pedicures with my aunt and a few family members, since they are regulars and highly recommended this salon. We were able to walk in, after signing in and letting them know that we had appointments. They sat us all together in chairs, and each nail technician took a client. My technician was sweet, but very quiet and didn't say much to me. My aunt and family members were offered drinks, but no one offered anything to me. She sat down and began working on my nails. I had gel nails on my feet, so I told her I would like them taken off and regular polish put on. The technician was able to do this with no problems, and the color that she put on my feet nearly matched what I currently had on my fingernails. She did a great job, but probably should've been a little more interactive. When I went to get up to dry my nails, they forgot to take the towel off my lap, so it landed on my feet and freaked the technician out, because she thought that it might have ruined my toenails. Thankfully, it did not, but I wish they had offer to take the towel off my lap and carry my stuff over to the drying station. When I went to pay, the girl forgot to ask me to add a tip for my technician, so I had to do two separate transactions to get those paid. I think if you are a regular, they give you special service, but if you are a walk in that hasn't been in there before, they give you average service. read more

The nail technician Rany was great. I got a mani/pedi and she took her time with me and the 60 min pedi was worth the money. They serve beverages. Was a bit disappointed with the owner when I asked for the summer sandals sale 30% for first time clients. Not sure I will go back but will go see Rany if I do. read more

Was disappointed the utensils for the pedicures weren't cleaned and not taken out of a sealed bag which should be under ultra violet light. They do pedicures put back in their trays/black rolling bag and go to next customer. This is not the industry practice. That is so scary!! Management needs to address this problem immediately and require proper cleaning of all utensils for pedicures and manicures. read more

(The lighting in the picture i took made my nails look brighter red but in natural light it was the same as the picture).The nail tech ladies were all welcoming and sweet and very accommodating. This place is so good!!! Ask for Susan, she works Friday-Sunday. The pedicure was incredible..... I got the deluxe which included a scrub, paraffin, lotion, and mask! It was incredible! Susan took her time and spent the full 30 minutes rubbing my legs and scrubbing..... they even offer beer or wine. Susan also did my gel mani..... FLAWLESS!!! I'm picky, but this place delivered! Average nail salon. It's not the best but not the worst. I had a 6:30pm that I arrived for at 6:25pm. The smell inside the salon is stronger than most other salons so their ventilation could use some work. I was sat down within a few minutes and then had to wait an additional 30 minutes before someone got started. The beer and wine offered is a nice touch but that's about as good as it gets. I got a kds deluxe pedicure that inside a couple masks and a reflexology massage. The technician I had did an average job. He did the bare minimum to get by. Hands down the BEST nail salon I've been to in Jacksonville. I've been to 3 others before I found this one. When I gotten my nails done at the other 3, the nail quality was horrible. Lop-sided, bumpy, uneven, stuff stuck underneath and one salon had only one nail tech that was the only person to do acryllic. But at Amy's Nails and Spa, Amazing work. All the nail techs know what they're doing. No bumps, all even and very professional. Always making sure the customers are happy. They even offer refreshments. Prices are very affordable. You can't get a better deal than this spot. It's unassuming and tucked in a low-rent strip mall, but this is my favorite nail salon at the beach. My friend recommended it, saying how they take their time and do a great job. And she was spot-on. The staff is nice and offers you beer or wine, plus they speak English well, which is helpful. The massage chairs, which I'm always picky about, are in good shape and do the trick. It may not be the best decor, but I don't care. Highly recommended. read more

First time at Amy's and went in for Amy's signature pedicure and the pedicurist took her time and allowed me to relax and enjoy the experience. I called ahead and got seated immediately when I arrived. I received a complimentary beverage. The polish job was beautiful and the massage was great. This one-star review is a reflection of just the nail tech. The salon itself is beautiful and the entire staff is so sweet. Whatever you do, ask to NOT get Ken. The entire time he did my pedicure he was looking anywhere but my feet. And the way my toes look is a reflection of that. They're all different lengths, my cuticles were hardly trimmed, the polish is all over my skin, and the list goes on. He didn't really seem like he wanted to be there and I really just wanted him to stop touching my feet. Horrible experience. I went in to get my acrylic nails removed and the girl who serviced me carelessly ripped the acrylic off my nail that I told her was already sore. She had no idea what she was doing and had to be instructed by another employee after injuring my sore nail. I called the manager who was extremely rude and not willing to offer a refund. I got my SNS nails done exactly 9 days ago, day 7 one nail was lifting bad and one popped off. i went back to get it fixed she made one crooked and literally glued my SNS back on, i told her i wasn't happy either the crooked nail and she said "it's cut like that" and ignored any other comments i made.. i stayed silent because i'm not one to dictate ones work but overall the worst experience i got home and the same nail she fixed popped off again and another broke in half. i am very easy with my nails and this is unacceptable. Not to mention the nail tech began to clip her finger nails in front of me with a cuticle cutter and didn't sanitize any tools afterwords. UPDATE: another one is cracked in half. read more

Really unenjoyable. The pedicure looks like something my little cousin did. Also the technician cut my thumb pretty badly and proceeded to super glue it together... And then speak in another language with her co-worker. The superglue dried and peeled off half of the manicure 20 minutes after I left the salon. And today I just took off all the polish because every nail started to chip not even 24 hours after I had them done. I wouldn't recommend this place, Modish Nails is way more professional and enjoyable. read more

Hmmm I do love coming here. Depending on the day, it can be a place to relax and get your services done. I've been coming here for about a year now and one of the reasons I choose this spot is because it's so spacious and not claustrophobic like so many others. They try to remember your name, but don't always remember to offer you a water or something. The most talented employees of the shop are also the husband/wife owners. The downside to having them perform your services is they are busy and have to continuously check in new guests and get them started. Sometimes a 25 minute service can easily be doubled which is annoying for an impatient person such as myself. My last experience was relatively bad. A guest was there with her mother in law, mother and 2 daughters. the daughters were maybe 5 &6, but of an age where they are capable of sitting down and being quiet. the mother moved next to me at the manicure station after her pedicure and her kids kept running back and forth for the better part of 30 minutes and I was sure I was losing my shit. I would have left if my nails weren't halfway completed. The mother allowed her daughter to hang off of the side of my chair, run around with the shops nail polish and be extremely loud. I said something to her because it appeared that one of the girls were getting inside the pedicure kit and that's irritating for the staff. I wish the owners were more stern with parents about their kids, but i understand they want to make those tips. But that kind of crap can make you lose customers for an 18% tip, which would cost you more in the long run. read more

This place has been here since I was in college. They remodeled and it looks great. I only come now and then, I don't like to get my nails done too much so my standards aren't overly high. Today they were super busy and the lady giving me a gel manicure seemed rushed. I didn't make a big deal she was nice, but when I went to pay the woman ringing me out noticed I was picking at them. I think she's the manager, I see her every time I go. I told her they're jagged at the edges she didn't file my nails too well. I didn't want to complain but she pulled me aside and made the next customer wait so she could fix it. When she was done I think she went to critique the woman that originally did my nails. I couldn't hear as they were further back at the pedicures. Very impressed that they went out of their way to made sure I was good! They were ok at first now my nails look great :) read more

They are liars and have zero ethics! They charged my card twice when I only signed one slip! I checked my account and saw a double charge!! This occurred because they tried to OVERCHARGE me for my child's pedi until I pointed to their sign which states ages 5-10 is $20. The two men (bald and angry and old and angry) yapped very loudly and rudely right in front of us and kept pointing to the sign and motioning to the female who speaks English and then she gave me a slip to sign for the correct price ($30 + $20 = $50 + $10 tip =$60). Next thing I knew.....I had a charge for $60 AND $70 on my acct!!!! I never saw or signed anything for $70!!! The checkout girl even said they specifically told she to charge my child for a full price pedi. And that must've been AFTER MULIPLE TIMES OF US SAYING SHE WAS 10. They asked us multiple times how old she was from the moment we walked in. CORRUPT. AVOID THIS PLACE. They hate their jobs and try to rip people off. Angry bald man and angry old man! read more

Best. Nail Salon. Ever. Holy crap why don't they have places like this in ATL? My bf and his brother were hitting the gym next door, so I thought this would be the perfect time for some "me time". Boy, was I right. For $30 (Thirty!) I got a manicure and pedicure (already cheaper than the basic at home), a paraffin treatment, a hot stone massage, and FREE BEER (or wine or soft drinks)!!!! So many things about this nail salon made me rate it a 2. The first being that my appointment was at 6:15 and I did not sit down until 6:45 even after I told them prior to coming in I was in a rush. When I got there someone helped me at the counter asking my name and when my appointment was and then proceeded to do 3 other things at a time and have no regard for our conversation or helping me. Then two parties of about 4 people each came in for their appointments and there were no technicians to do their nails. My appointments were before them and they were helped more than me and sat before me. What I took out of that is that they are very unorganized and overbook themselves and value people's time. The next thing is when I was sitting getting my manicure (finally) the technician would ram her chair into the back of mine every time she got up and did not apologize once. Lastly, I am very specific when it comes to my nails because I wouldn't want them to waste time and I wouldn't want to pay $50 for something I don't like. Now I will insert photos but the left is the shape I asked for (note that I didn't ask for that design/color just plain red) and the right is what I got. I was also specific that I did NOT want long nails because i do not personally like them on me and they tend to break. I also asked for an oval shape where they are more curved and not pointy and I got long pointy almond shaped nails. ‍ All in all I would not go back if I had things to do around the time of my appointment and if I was doing something intricate. DO NOT GO HERE. Went with two others for shellac manicures. By the next day it was peeling off and needed to be redone somewhere else. My friends hands were two different shades on each hand. It was brought to the owners attention and she insisted it was the same and refused to add another coat. The woman painting our finger nails rushed to get done. One of us was burned by their parafin wax pretty badly. Overall a rip off, uncomfortable experience that I would not recommend to anyone. read more
