I went here by accident, thinking this is where my friend recommended. When I told her about my horrible experience after the fact, she told me she only goes to Liz Tailor down the street and I would have never been treated the way Kent treated me. I went in March to have my one shouldered dress altered. It was too gappy in the chest area. I assumed it would just need a dart or two. He said he would take in the strap on the one shoulder and pinched it up to show me. That took care of the gaping in the chest, so I said okay. When I went to pick it up 5 days later, they seemed shocked I wanted to try it on first. It was so painful and tight only wearing it in the store for a few minutes, it left red indentions on my neck for hours. The waistline was now skewed because they changed the strap so much. Kent wasn't there then. The lady said the extra was tucked inside the part of the strap where they took it in and could let it out. Leaving it there meant I missed out on taking this dress on the trip I was getting it altered for. When I went back to pick it up after that trip, Kent was there. At first they couldn't find the dress and tried to give me someone else's dress. I then tried on my dress. I don't know what they did, but now the arm hole was too small and I couldn't even raise my arm up. I told him I couldn't even wear the dress. He scolded me in front of other customers and said it was because my chest was too big (obviously it's not since that was the area I originally needed to have taken in). He just wanted me to pay the $30 and leave. I refused to pay since the dress was unwearable. He finally said he could cut the armhole bigger but that wasn't what the original quote was for. The armhole was never an issue before he hacked my dress up. When I went the 3rd time to pick it up, it still didn't fit right but it was better that his previous 2 attempts. So I paid the $30, took the dress, and never wanted to see him again. It would have been better had I just continued using saftey pins in the chest area instead of taking it to him. read more

Came here to purchase an ao dai for myself and my son because I did not want to go to bellaire. They're $25 for an adult ao dai, $10 for pants, and $20 for kids ao dai. I thought this was kind of expensive for the material (which felt cheap) but again, I came here for convenience since I did not want to drive far so I was fine with it. Make sure you pay cash or you'll get seriously upcharged. My total was $50 and when I tried to pay with credit card he charged me $59.50. Thank goodness my mom and I looked through our wallets and pulled out whatever cash we had and paid the 50. read more

My go to place whenever I need my pants hemmed or jacket sleeves shortened. Amy might have a heavy accent, but she is very friendly and knowledgeable with current fashion styles. Every time I go in, it takes no longer than 10 minutes for me to change into the clothes I need altered and have her take the correct measurements. And every time I get my clothes back (usually after a few short days), she does such a great job that I can't even tell they've been altered. Heck, I've even returned some pants hemmed by her to Zara, and the cashier actually tried feeling for any hints of alteration, but couldn't tell at all that they've been hemmed lolol. Yes, her prices may have increased slightly over the course of time, but she is a great tailor and I am all for supporting my local small businesses. read more

This guy, Viet Kent Nguyen, is a FRAUD! He is a liar. He knowingly overcharged me for an áo dài set. Ít was supposed to be $20 or $30 with pants. But he charged me $50 for the dress + pants. I found out that he lied about the price when I came back with the intention of purchasing more. When I bought that set, he adamantly said that prices will never change or his stuff will never go on sale. But when I came back he said the set was $30. I asked him then why did he charge me $50 knowing that it was only $30. I basically caught him red handed, he said he was doing a sale - a $20 off sale!?!. He would never do that because that's what he told me over and over again the first time when I asked him. He blatantly lied through his teeth. He tried to change the narrative to make him look less of a liar. He is also super RUDE to his customers. He berated a customer in front of me and other customers. He even raised his voice with an elderly customer just for asking questions. He doesn't deserve any customers. This place is way overpriced. The guy is just disgusting. Go elsewhere to buy your áo dài like inside Hong Kong supermarket. I would have given 0 stars if I could. Do not shop at this place! read more

Came in here to have m bridesmaid dress altered. She did seem like she was in a rush when she was listening to what I needed done and how I needed to fit. However when I went back to get my dress it was still a little big on the waist I asked her to take it in a little more at this time I should have asked her to make it shorter as well since she charge just $45 ( 3 layers) for hemming my dress. I went back a week later to pick up my dress (week of the wedding) and she had not taken in the dress yet. She asked me to wait while she did it she had it done in about 20mins. I was please with the fit and the work was very nicely done. I would recommend this place just make sure the length is correct of you dress before you finally walk out with your garment. read more

I have been here in previous years and had a great experience. Not this time! The gentleman there could not have been more indifferent when my daughter needed a dress altered. He just said nothing could be done and walked off. Did not care, or show any effort. We went down the highway to Liz Taylor, much nicer. read more

I am only rating 1 star because 0 is not available! I went to have my suit altered. I was told my suit would be ready the morning of my event. I arrived to pick it up and was told the were just starting it and to come back in an hour. By the time the suit was ready I was late to my appointment. And to make matters worse they messed up the buttons on my sleeves of my coat ruining it! The gentleman never came to address the issue and just ran in the back of the store. This is absolutely the worst experience ever, and I will be sure to tell everyone not to utilize Amy's Taylor unless they are getting a circus outfit made! read more

I went in to have some very basic alterations: sleeves shortened on some blazers and one skirt hemmed. The lady behind the counter couldn't tell me how much the alterations would cost. She gave me a range and seemed like she just was pulling numbers out of the air. I didn't have a good feeling, so I left. I won't be back. read more

Very bed customer service. I took her one dress and a skirt to hem and asked her how much does it cost . I thought that she told me $15 for each piece because cross the street there is another tailor and she hem one of my blouse for $14 it sounds reasonable. But she charged me $54. She said she charged me $50 and with the tax it is $54. I told her to cancel it but she said she does not know how to refund the money and she doesn't have time for this!!!! This is her customer service. I did not receive any service from her but she didn't return my money. I will never go there again. She is very greedy and unprofessional. read more

Overpriced, unprofessional, and bad customer service. I am writing this review as I am sitting here waiting for them to finish working on my clothes. Actually I should say, start working on my clothes. I called them 2 hours before I got here to ask if my stuff was ready for pickup and she said "did i tell you it will be ready by Wednesday. If i did, then its ready" RUDE. I've been here 4 times because it's right next to my house and convenient but ALL 4 times I've had to wait for them to start working on it right when I walk in. I never complain but there is no excuse especially because I called beforehand because I am very limited on time. After waiting for over 30 mins, I let her know that I had called and that she told me it was ready, when clearly it was not and she was not apologetic AT ALL. And then on top of that, I had to pay full price for it. I will never come back. Unless maybe if I had nothing to do and wanted to wait an hour and then pay them for my time. I have had several pairs of slacks hemmed here, and one dress altered. Although service can be a bit abrupt, up until now i have continued patronizing this shop because the location is convenient. Last week i had some new slacks hemmed. Well, shame on me for not checking them before I left the shop. Several days later I got them out to wear, and the front of one leg is cut in several places. It looks like it might have been nicked with pinking shears. The slacks are ruined. I will not return to this shop. read more

Very poor job on an a hem on an evening gown. When I tried it on, the hem was not pressed, the chalk marks were still on, all that for $40. She then could not press it properly! At the same time, a man was bringing back a pair of trousers, the hem was again not done well! I will never go back. read more

Mrs. Amy did a seamless job with my bridesmaid dress alteration. She took me quickly for pinning and discussed pricing and asked when I needed the dress by. Where do I begin... if I could give zero stars I would. I bought a suite from Al's formal wear and lady referred me here because I needed my suited hemmed. So I went in and she measured me and did all the adjustments. The final price was for altering the suite was way too expensive so I just settled for hemming the paints. I paid for hemming the pants but i left the whole suite since it was together in a package. I was told they would be ready in 2 days. Fast forward to 2 days later when I went to pick up the suite. I show up and give the lady at the desk my name and they can't find my suite. So she tells me to come back there and look for it. I find the suite but the pants are not in it. So I look around and find them on a different rack. My mistake in this whole ordeal is that it was under my fiance name but if I wouldn't walk back there she wouldn't been able to find the rest of my suite. So after getting my suite I go to leave and the lady tells me I need to pay for the hemming of my pants. I told her I already paid so she calls Amy and she hand me the phone to talk to her. After a few minutes of going back and forth about paying she says "ok". The frustration from poor customer service and finding needles all in my suite made the experience the worst I have ever encountered. What ever you do please don't take your stuff here. read more

Shop owner was not friendly when I went in for initial consultation on a dress. She claimed she had finished a hem on the dress, it was not finished, just cut off the original stitching. I had paid a deposit on the whole thing, she wanted more money for cutting up the dress, would not let me leave, locked me in business until police came. Poor customer service and terrible workmanship. I went to Amy's to have a couple of pants hemmed. When I stopped in, I was not greeted and I seemed to be interrupting Amy. I dropped the pants off on a Saturday and paid in advance. Amy told me that the work would be done by Thursday. I went back to the store on Thursday around 430pm and the pants were not completed. Amy did not apologize nor did she try to call me ahead of time to warn me about the delay. She stated that the pants would be ready the next day. I went back the following day and Amy gave me the pants. She did not want me to try them on so I left. The next day I tried on the pants and realized that on one of the pants, the hem on the legs were hemmed at different lengths. When I went back to Amy to have them fixed, again she did not greet me nor did she apologize for the mistake. She immediately began trying to say that the pant legs were different lengths to begin with and that she simply hemmed the pants. This was crazy as I had worn the pants several times and I was 100% positive the pant legs were the same length when I dropped them off. In addition, I had tried them on for Amy and she pinned them. Amy would not let me talk nor would she listen to me. She only spent her time trying to talk over me and to insist that she was not wrong. She did not even offer to fix the issue. I will find a different tailor and I would not ever recommend going to this store. Very poor service! read more
