I've been using Anna for years for alterations and dressmaking. She's good and cheap! She has shortened pants (usually $10 a pair). Also, repaired small holes in clothing, altered shirts, and made dresses from scratch for me! Recently I brought in 3 pairs of pants that had small holes in them (yes, I make a mess of my clothes). She repaired them all for a grand total for $6.50. Crazy cheap, right? I was a bridesmaid in a wedding a few years ago. The bride provided the fabric (silk with little lines in it - hard to work with because of the lines). The bride gave us the pattern and we had to get it made. I brought it to Anna. She made the dress with alterations (I wanted the neckline much lower than she originally made it). Dress made with multiple alterations all for about $100. CHEAP. the other bridesmaids (who were from all over the country) said the cheapest they found was $200. Why 4/5 stars? Because I asked her to fix a sweater, but she can't do woven stuff (it's a knit sweater.) 12/2011 Update: She has a new location: She's NOT easy to find the first time. There are two sets of 1970s looking two story buildings off of 59 north just north of Sugar Creek. She is in the one farther from 59. The buildings are just next to Berry Hill Tamales when you are heading down the feeder. She's on the 1st floor on the front of the building (facing toward the freeway). Tip: Ask the price before you leave your stuff. She does take cash and checks. I don't think she takes credit cards (She's a one woman business). Also, don't start chatting with her about you, life, etc... because when you get her started she won't let you leave. If you keep it all business, so will she. read more

I visited Anna's to get my scrub pants hemmed and it was such an easy process. She did ask if I wanted to try them on and she would measure it on me, but I opted out. I could see this being helpful for more fitted clothing. I told her how many inches I wanted to take off and I was on my way. My scrub pants came out perfectly and quickly. The price was very fair and I will definitely come by again for any alterations in the future. Just a heads up that she only takes cash or check. read more

To update Melissa M.'s 2009 review, it pretty much is all the same today. It is a pain in the butt to find her business, but the directions in Melissa's post are point on. I would recommend her to others if they are in the area or looking for a new seamstress in the Sugar Land/Stafford area. I came here to get a blazer I bought on sale to be fitted properly. It took one week, but I was in no rush for it. She took in the back/sides and that was about $15. As someone who doesn't know much about sewing, the stitch work seems fine, and I wouldn't hesitate to go to her again. It beats driving down to Chinatown dealing with morons on the road. After I picked up my blazer, I was enlightened to see that a one woman shop is still running against big chain stores. At moments like these, it made me proud to be apart of Yelp to help spread the word of this modest shop. read more

I give this a 5 star rating because I have used Anna's several times. I have never been disappointed and she always finishes within the time frame she quotes...around a week. The biggest surprise to me though is how reasonably she is. When I go in I usually have several items. I am always surprised when she tells me how much it is...in a good way! Debbie read more

Tailored my daughter's quinceanera dress perfectly at a very reasonable price and on time. The space is tight for trying on clothes, so manage your expectations. It's a very intimate and informal space. It gets full with customers before closing time especially on weekends, so come earlier if possible. She stayed open later to accommodate all customers. The pricing is so competitive and the work is great, so I'll be coming back. read more

Gave my daughter's prom dress for fitting and she did a perfect job and the price she charged was just $35 when others were asking for $110. She is a senior citizen and one lady show who excels in her tailoring. Go and get your alterations without hesitation. She is great!! read more

Just moved to this area and needed a black pair of slacks to be majorly taken in. The lady I met (I'm guessing Ana) was really nice and sweet and after a few pins here and there she wrote me up a very affordable ticket and told me to pick up in a week. I came back, tried them on a gave her a little extra on the bill. I've def. found my new alteration go-to place. read more

She not only makes clothes, but also alters all kinds of clothing from wedding dresses, suits to hemming dresses, skirts, and pants. Usually has things completed in a week. I've gone to Anna for alterations for several years. Most often I have her hem pants and sleeves for me. She does good quality work and is not going to cheat you of your money. She once quoted me a certain amount to shorten the sleeves on a Northface jacket and when I returned to pick it up and pay, she told me it would be cheaper as the material was easier to work with. She could have easily collected the original amount without saying a word. read more

Yes she is definitely hard to find but it was definitely worth the search! I took your advice and brought in a few things. I am short and pear shaped with a narrow waste so I have to get all my pants taken in and hemmed. I took in a pair of jean and 2 pairs of slacks. She used the EXACT same thread for the bottom of the jeans and magically took in the waist. No kidding... they looked like they had came straight from the store un touched except now they fit like a glove. and for the slacks...she sewed them all BY HAND! she said machine hems dont last long and also reinforced a button... All for CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! I love this lil lady!!! p.s. She told me she was moving downstairs in the same building in October... hopefully she will be easier to find then. currenly she is in the white odd shape building BEHIND berry hill. There's 2 of them... she is the second one farthest from the freeway. Shes on the second floor so you have to loop around back to use the elevator. AND BTW she is going to start offering EMBROIDERY and MONOGRAMMING when she moves!!!! How exciting! :) read more

This place is horrible! I gave her three pants and a jacket to her. She had barely done anything to them and charged me $50. All I asked her to do with the pants was to shorten it. She charged me $10 for each pants just for that. Whenever I initially asked her to make alterations in certain areas, she would tell me, "No, it looks fine." She was just really lazy and didn't want to take the trouble to do it. Don't go here. read more
