The volunteers who work here are friendly and helpful. Best of all, the proceeds of the Pink Door go to a non-profit the provides critical health care for those who have no insurance. So many good reasons to support this store.

The antique part runs along side of the main attractions. There are many small booths that run through 4 buildings. Lots to look through. The one building is a maze over several floors including a barn attic. They are connected by a covered walkway. I wouldn't think they are handicapped accessible. I found some albums with decent prices. I wouldn't make it a destination, but I'd stop if I was in the area.

The Ace hardware surprised me today, they have many high quality brand names…read more For example, I noticed they carry Traeger cooking goods; advertised on the highly popular Joe Rogan "podcast", Joe Rogan is hilarious, but hes famous for more than just the man show. He has some really interesting opinions, and I can agree that Traeger makes some great stuff! Anyway, the friendly staff, politely directed me to Jacob, whom helped me install some license plate hardware. My new license plate hardware looks fantastic, and things are neat and tidy in there. The Ace in Mchenry, IL still has blooming flowering plants on sale for $1! Wow! So, I stocked up, and I might return to get my Christmas tree. It looks as if they receive their 3s from a larger 3. It is either some really nice trim, or a shame they cut the roots, but I think I'll try rooting one this season, or if all else fails I can use the wonderful evergreen chips in the garden this spring; maybe, the new Traeger smoker could be the answer. Definitely was satisfied with my purchase, and thank you Alice for setting up my new Ace account. I'm so pleased I found a good price on the plants and hardware. Our Amarylis is planted inside right now, and looking forward to next spring!

Super cute place in downtown McHenry…read more A bunch of girlfriends and I did the paint class on Friday night -- it is $30 if you go by yourself, but if you bring a friend (or multiple) its $25 per person -- huge steal compared to places in the city. Reservations are required and on the website they show you what painting they do each Friday. BYOB, adults only class, and all supplies for painting are provided. You can also have your painting framed instantly for an additional $20 The instructor was super nice and fun, always encouraging a drink or two to boost your confidence if need be, lol. And everybody's painting turned out soo well!! I really can't wait to paint again!
