As an out-of-town visitor, a gift card was useless to me, which the sales associate was aware of. This situation was handled poorly--when a product breaks right away, I should have been given a refund. Will not return.

The young lady that was working was so friendly and helped me and my husband find the perfect sweatshirt she went above and beyond. The prices were pretty reasonable I think for the same day custom sweatshirts. I can't wait to wear it at the Super Bowl party we're going to! The sweatshirt is oversized, warm, comfy, and big plus it's a crewneck with a hoodie front pocket which I've never seen before and was just freaking amazing. The store was clean, organized and the service was fast. We were in and out within a half hour. Give this place a try you're not gonna be disappointed. What a fun girls night activity, after hitting one of the restaurants in downtown McHenry and then make yourself a hoodie.

I always have looked past it because I like the quality of the clothes. Today however I had an incident that may make me not return to the store or even support Torrid further. I am in the store and purchase an item. Then I ask the girl checking me out if they price match the online prices. At this point the sale is complete. She says they can but I would have had to do it before checking out. So I ask about exchanging the item for the lesser price. The manager comes over and says something about no they can't do that because of how the receipt runs in the system. So I left the store, I then turned and when back in to just return the item...I was told no, I can't return the item because their system won't have it processed for 24 hours. I left very frustrated. Number 1 that is the worst possible policy. So you mean to tell me if they made an error and rang something up twice and I catch it after I check out, they can't correct it for 24 hours? I find that hard to believe. Number 2 I called another store and was told the information I was given by the always unpleasant manager in McHenry was a LIE!! So needless to say, trying to scam your customers doesn't gain you any.
