    ~ UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND PETTY ~ *Note: I don't enjoy, and rarely give 1-star reviews (check my profile; there are less than a handful), but if it were possible, I'd give Clark & Sons negative stars. After 3 years, I feel it's safe enough and appropriate to share our experience, hoping it helps others avoid the rude, unprofessional, and unethical service we received from them. At that, take a look at the other 1-star reviews and responses from the owner in a similar tone. In 2021 right after purchasing our home we knew we needed to replace our HVAC system. After reading all these great reviews, we decided to reach out to this family-owned business for an estimate. The initial visit went smoothly-- we even let the estimator cut several large strategic holes in our ceiling to get a better look at the ductwork and provide accurate duct mapping. He spent about 45 minutes inspecting the holes and even went up into our attic to assess the job. A couple of days later, we received the estimate, agreed to it, and signed the contract (pictured). On the day Clark & Sons showed up to start the work, they began immediately with little communication. Four hours into the job, a worker told us that, due to our duct pathways, they would need an extra $2,700 to complete the job. We mentioned that the required work they were bringing up was already outlined in our original contract and we would not be paying more. They took a look at the contract, called a supervisor, and after he arrived they talked outside for about 10 minutes only to tell us that they were standing firm in asking for additional payment. We repeated that the work described was already listed in the original signed contract and that we wouldn't pay more due to errors made by the estimator's poor duct mapping, who had sufficient time and access during the job walk. Whoever the supervisor was, Joey (?), immediately responded condescendingly, saying, "It is what it is," and refused to acknowledge their mistake or complete the job without extra payment. We let them know that they could leave our property if that was the case. Now to the unprofessional and unethical part... As they were leaving in a hurry, muttering and swearing under their breath, one of the workers purposely nicked and punctured a gas line they had installed earlier. We didn't notice the damage until a few hours later, even after allowing a few of the workers to come back to pick up some tools they accidentally left behind after leaving in such a huff. We didn't realize this was malicious until after hiring a different company (who successfully completed and did a stellar job), that was confused by the damage and speculated it might have been done to prevent us from using the created gas line with another company. This behavior is both completely unacceptable and petty. This experience was not only awful but also led us to file a complaint to the BBB due to their unethical actions. There are plenty of other HVAC companies in this area that we've contacted and received bids from, and I would recommend them instead. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one.

    Who would ever have thought that getting new heat and air could be such a pleasurable experience? Well it was. From my first contact with office manager (and wife) Kat and then Joey's visit to my home for us to discuss options, and then the crew making the installation, every part of the experience was a pleasure. I was very impressed how well the crew worked with each other. They were clearly very knowledgeable of their trade, they were very courteous, and just a pleasure to watch. The installation was lawless, these guys were perfectionists! I got a ductless split system with both a "head" wall unit in a large bedroom and a "cassette" ceiling unit in the living room. All these units, even the outdoor one, running very quietly and efficiently. Everything works like a charm and the whole experience was excellent. I could not be happier! Highly recommended.

    Good service with matching fair pricing They were very responsive to my Yelp request which was a good sign. They were very fair and offered me a compelling price for doing the furnace check ups and installing the nest thermostats. The only thing I would recommend they improve on is to take pictures of your furnace with serial number to provide you as well as give you the pictures of the serial number of the nest thermostat. I now realize I will have to remove them again to take pictures in order to get them connected to my phone. They did not try to upsell me. They did not bring the filters for the furnace but fortunately I had some paint I would recommend you let them know what size you would need so they can bring that if they're doing a furnace tuneup Yes I definitely recommend them.     Had a minor problem with A/C, thermostat screen black, no air.. Called Clark and Sons around 4:40 pm, they had a guy here around 6:30 pm.. found the problem, fixed the problem in less than 15 min.. Again great service, knowable snd friend service guys... Thanks Cat for working for fast...

    After reporting a furnace issue (ignitor continually activating after burner was ignited and blower…read morerunning) to my home warranty company, they sent a contractor technician. He diagnosed that the blower needed to be replaced. (I am a certified aero engineer, so am familiar with ignition and burner systems) When questioned about the continuously activating ignitor, he indicated that the continuously running ignitor was "normal." When I sowed him online that the continuously activating ignitor was not normal and could be dangerous, he didn't 52 minutes researching Google on his cell phone and did not change his diagnosis or estimate fir cleaning the fan and replacing the blower that was working fir an additional $240 over the warranty's initial service fee. I called highly recommended Air Systems Solutions in Ventura, CA who arranged for a technician visit the next day. He was very courteous and did a very thorough job and replaced the ignition panel. Aside from the part itself, the service fee was less than half of the original contractor's estimate. Highly recommend work from Air Systems Solutions in Ventura CA.

I don't think you can measure a business when everything is going perfectly. You measure a business by how they handle things when it doesn't go as planned. Everything has been going great, but we recently had a little hiccup when I added a whole home water filtration system. I was a little frustrated and it took a little bit to get the right person on the phone, but I'm really happy to know that they are the same company from 11 years ago. They went above and beyond to take care of the problem. I've heard nightmare stories about other companies in the area that will install something and if there is a problem, you are on your own. I see a 1-star review from someone who was frustrated with lack of customer service. I was frustrated with this too. The AI phone interface can be frustrating, but there are good people working there who are trying to do the right thing. It just might take a little bit of patience to get the right person on the other end of the phone. I do know that they are addressing this problem. Julian is my plumber and Sam is my HVAC guy and when they come to the house it's like having old friends visit. At the end of the day, that's what keeps me coming back to them. The work is solid, the technicians are knowledgeable, and when something does come up they stand behind what they do. Eleven years later, that still says a lot about the kind of company they are. I have no hesitation to call them for some of the bigger upcoming purchases that our household needs, like a new AC unit and a tankless water heater. They came out and diagnosed it, and did the repair that day. Days later when I went to use it, same issue. They came back out and diagnosed two other issues, no mention of why we don't think that those things weren't present the first visit. So I paid for first and second visit. I think I should have been refunded the first visit since clearly that service didn't fix the job. Oh and the best is they already started trying to up sell me a whole new system...they installed mine 10 years ago. They were better 10 years ago.

The price was very fair given the availability, arrival at the scheduled time, time spent educating us and servicing the units, and the end result of having a comfortable indoor temperature. I had to look for a place that services my Brand of water heater, is reputable, and available! They were able to come out SAME DAY and kept me informed throughout the day of changes in eta. There was a pretty big change in eta but that worked out for me because I was just leaving work to meet their technician. The technician (Roberto Ramirez) was kind and patient and explained what COULD be wrong and what was ACTUALLY wrong. He told me what to look for in the future and possibly how to prevent it from happening again. He told me how to maintain it going forward and some other tips and tricks that might help extend the life of my water heater. Additionally, he contacted the warranty company and worked with them to get the needed part today at zero cost to me which you would think might annoy a company or technician but he didn't seem bothered at all. He was able to come out the same day and service our system. He added Freon, installed a new nest thermostat for us, and added dampers to our ductwork to balance the airflow in the home. I can't speak highly enough for the quality of his work and the integrity of the service. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was more than respectful to my elderly mother and followed all COVID safety procedures. Friendly and efficient, the work was done quickly - including running to the store for parts. I've had a lot of bad experiences in the past with HVAC contractors, I have to say, I will never go anywhere else again for service. Thanks so much Tom. The cold air feels wonderful and is perfectly balanced in the home now. His prices were VERY AFFORDABLE. I can't recommend Tom at Espa Air highly enough to you!

With a major heat wave on the way, I needed AC back up and running, and fast! Tom responded to my request for quote very promptly and was available to come out same day. He showed up with a mask, his toolkit, and a great deal of professionalism. I'm the kind that hovers over a technician's shoulder because I just love to know how everything works and Tom patiently explained lots of stuff about how AC units work...and why mine wasn't. He was able to procure the correct parts and fix my unit quickly and got me back up and running. I held off writing this review until my AC unit had weathered a couple heat waves to make sure that the work Tom had done held up.
