I love it here! My friend brought me here and wow I can't believe I have not been here before. For one, the bottles are priced at retail. That is AMAZING! The bar area is a great wine vibe , with the bottles on the wall and it was Friday night with a musician performing. We waited a bit at the bar and then we were sat in the dining area. Our server Clinton was great. He was nice, very attentive and professional. I ordered the tortellini and the penne vodka pasta. We also ordered the burrata and the fried calamari. Anacapri is a solid 4, maybe 4.5 stars. Nice atmosphere, great menu and reasonably priced. I'd prefer a full bar but beer and whine (intentional) is fine. House salad is very basic but ok. Our 4 entrees were all very good. Never had octopus carpaccio and never would have but fellow diner shared a bit and it was very good. Chicken or veal Francaise, excellent. $136 plus tip for 4. So I went to this place with 11 people . Super busy but we were seated promptly as we had reservations. The food was very good and everyone really liked their meals however the place is really hot inside and the service is terrible. When you ask for something , they forget and when you remind them , they get annoyed . It feels like you are doing them a favor by being there .. the Manager has the personality of a slug. Sorry but I definitely won't be back . I like places that appreciate your presence and this place is definitely not one of them ...when we asked the manager to please raise the ac , he said in a very arrogant tone that he has 3 ac's running . my recommendation is to find a new manager for this place ...There are much better places out there to eat ... read more

Trifecta of mediocre cuisine, poor service, managerial disregard. Had enjoyed positive dining experiences at Anacapri previously, so had high expectations for birthday dinner party we organized and hosted there. Disappointingly, food was mediocre (wife's salmon overcooked, my lasagna served lukewarm and topped with misshapen lump of burned cheese, for examples), service was poor (guest entrees served minutes apart, obliged to extend multiple repetitive requests for table items, some of which were never provided). Chose to communicate experience privately with restaurant management the following day rather than at birthday celebration. Have since left six (6) messages respectfully requesting manager call me (two of the messages left directly with staff who advised manager on site and would return my call promptly); all unanswered. Could make allowances for one or even two of these negative elements, but not all three. Arrivederci per sempre, Anacapri. read more

After Ciro's (our favorite local Italian) closed down, we were left with a void for a good, local Italian restaurant. This is when we discovered Anacapri. Anacapri boasts an inviting atmosphere with a home-y feel for lovers of wine and Italian food alike. The staff is friendly, food is good, and the wine is great. We have been to this restaurant on and off for the last 20 years, pretty much since they opened, as a couple or with our family. The last few times we have been there for dinner have not been great. The food is less than good and the service leaves quite a bit to desire. Yesterday night I was served a warmish chicken with a pasta, sent it back to the kitchen to get cooked with the hope it will come back tastier. Wrong; left it on the table without touching it again. Nor the Maître D' or the waiter ever asked if there was a problem with the food, at the end they offered a box to take it away, still without asking what the problem was, why didn't I eat it. Probably afraid I would send it back or not want to pay for it. Which is what I should have done. Sorry to see that both the food and service are going slowly and steadily down the drain. read more

My husband and I met another couple for dinner here last Saturday. The restaurant's atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, the food is traditional Italian American so you know the portions are very generous. I ate the chicken piccata which was well prepared. I would have liked some more capers in my sauce and I'm sure our waiter would have given me some on the side if I asked. Everyone else ordered the black pasta with seafood which was the special of the day. It looked very good!! To finish it off we shared the warm chocolate cake with gelato, it was very good. I would love to go back to try the eggplant and other dishes. Another nice touch is that this place is a market where you can purchase authentic Italian specialties and wine. The exterior of the place is unassuming but aside from that the moment you step in your experience begins. There Resturant is subtly divided into three general areas: a shop for Italian pasta, cheeses, meats and pastries; a bar with hundreds of choices of wines lining the walls with a beautiful back room seating area in the heart of a cellar; and the dinning room which is spacious and cozy at the same time. The owner and his staff are excellent and more excellent. Attentive and personable. Finally, and the most important, the food is great. The rigatoni is delicious and makes you want to order seconds. The salmon is a close second. And we'll, okay even more important, is the huge wine selection. This is a great place for a casual drink or dinner. Being surround by wine bottles at a shared table? Perfect! I came here with some friends last night wanting to have dinner and drinks with live music. But we learned after we ordered our drinks and appetizers that they don't have a full dinner menu at the bar. Weird. The tables are so ok top of each other on the other side of the restaurant that I was afraid to adjust my hair behind my back. I have been here before and ordered a pasta dish that I remember was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I came here again this past Friday and decided I would try their Miami Spice menu. My hubby and I both had the tomato and burrata app. There were cherries and a touch of cherry Syrup that was sooooo mouth watering! Amazing. Then I ordered the Tomahawk Pork chop and for me... it was "good". Not amazing. Lacked flavor a bit. My husband had the duck dish which I tried and it was not our favorite either. Tasted a little dull. Great on presentation but taste was a 6/7 out of a 10. Dessert was tiramisu and guava cheese cake. Cheesecake was wayyyyy too sweet and tiramisu was "ok". I think it's best to stay on their regular menu, I'll keep that in mind next time! read more

Love it - love it...my wife and I have fine dined all over the world and AnaCapri is the best Italian we have ever had. We've tried many many different dishes and all have been remarkable. Great wine selection very reasonably priced. Great Brunello selection. You can tell the owner is there all the time! Yes, they do get busy on weekends - BUT that's the sign of a great restaurant. Well worth the wait! We even stock up on their frozen foods that are offered next door - all are excellent and fairly priced. The food here is amazing! As an appetizer I had their Anacapri Bruschetta, which is some small bread slices topped with tomato, basil, olive oil and parmesan cheese. For the entree, I ordered their Pappardelle Caprese-- mostly because I've never seen this dish listed in other restaurants and I was curious about it. It was very good, the noodles were flat and thick, served with tomato, basil, garlic and mozzarella. This this is lighter than most Italian dishes. My only problem with this place is that is crowded.. I felt like the people sitting next to us were practically on top of us. I was a little bit uncomfortable. This is the best Italian restaurant ever. It's a true mom and pop. They have a great selection of wine, they have a mini market beside the restaurant for authentic imported goods. This intimate and cozy restaurant is located in the US1 area. With some delicious desserts that you would want to go back every single time you go out. The service is quite excellent, and all their servers are polite and efficient with cleaning up the empty plates so more can come. This place is so good, that I've been there three times in under a month. Each time we go, we always order the different assortments of pasta. Anacapri is definitely a local favorite and I've been at least a half dozen times, but I've decided I am not just not a fan. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is usually great. And I've always gone with friends and had an enjoyable experience. Servings are generous and I've always left with a take out container. But I've never been wowed by a meal there. Yet it's very popular. My friend has also been before and thus selected it for her birthday lunch, and we had the Miami Spice menu. I started with the crab cake over arugula. I had just seen a friend cut into her crab cake a few nights earlier that looked awesome and had noticeable chunks of crab in it. This one was just so so and the sauce made it soggy. My main was pork rib eye saltimbocca, and after a few bites I just wanted no more. I'm not sure why, maybe it was too salty? The spinach was swimming/drowning in some kind of sauce and it all just seemed a bit overwhelming. I ordered a cannoli for dessert, but was brought the cheesecake. I just went with it, but truthfully the only cheesecake I'd actually order at a restaurant would be the yummy exotic ones at the Cheesecake Factory, because otherwise I find them kind of boring. Anyway, after I left I realized that I hadn't really liked my meal and that's typical of my experience at Anacapri. Not actually bad, but not actually very good. Yet, like I said, it's very popular. There aren't a whole lot of dining options nearby, so they have an attitude like they have a Michelin star and clearly feel as though they don't need to treat their customers well. If you can put up with the rude hostess and are ok with waiting for a table with a reservation at an average Italian restaurant in a strip mall then this is your spot.
