Callos a la gallega (no flavor whatsoever) I have to say that I had them again and they were much better.

So after not coming here for a while I learned that it was sold and changed management... so... I decided to come back and give the new "revamped" place a try. First thing I noticed was that a lot of their regular customers were not there. Menu had changed and prices went up. Which I can understand since everything is more expensive now at days. I ordered one of their menu staples from before, Callos a la Gallega, which they told me now it is even better than before. So I had to try it. What a Disappointment !!! In one word.... TASTELESS. Service is about the same... friendly and the bar counter is usually a good place to have your lunch. I wish I had something more positive to say but it was not a good experience. Maybe in another occasion I could try it again and see if there has been any improvement. The consensus is that the kitchen is not putting out great dishes. Thumbs way down on this one.

People bring your fat wallet and a magnifying glass. Size of portion very tiny!!! Very disappointing

If you think you have had a good pork belly, think again. I am a food enthusiast that have been around the world and needless to say I have tried por belly before. The best one by the hands of the brothers Txapartegi at Alameda, Hondarribia, Spain. I can assured you that this one made by the cooks at El Gallegazo is by far better acomplish. Don't take my word for it, go try it and while you're at it also try the sepia fish. Your eyes will flip

We were in the mood for Spanish tapas and after going to 3 different places (one was closed for remodeling, another was having a private party and the 3rd had the wrong address on Yelp) we stopped at this place. Had always heard good things about it but never tried it. They had a special menu for $11.99 that included a main course 2 sides , dessert and a glass of wine or Sangria. I ordered a sausage in wine appetizer, shrimp in garlic sauce with fries and rice, bread pudding and sangria. The shrimp were large, cooked right and very tasty. My husband ordered lamb shank, rice, fries, sangria and torta De Santiago (almond cake). Everything was delicious. Servers were very attentive and they had live music. Our check was under $40.

Lunch special.. Shrimp in garlic with boiled potatoes & veggies.. Includes a glass of wine & dessert for $11

Came here on a Saturday for lunch. They have a lunch special for about $11 with 10 different selections from seafood to pork to steak. It includes 2 sides, a glass of wine or sangria, and dessert. The service was great but the place was pretty empty when we arrived around 1:30. Around 2:30 when we were leaving the place was filling up. The food was excellent & cooked to order. I ordered shrimp in garlic sauce with boiled potatoes & veggies. Others with me had the baby steak which was more like a HUGE steak with white rice & fries. The other plate we had was pork with shrimp in a savory sauce with white rice & boiled potatoes. I have no complaints about the place, service or food. The decor is very spaniard & they have entertainment at night with flamenco dancers. I will definitely be returning.

The grilled octopus originally came out overcooked and tasted like dry rubber chicken. The oysters were even more disappointing--the first batch was slimy and tasted off. You know when an oyster is not fresh, and these definitely did not taste fresh. To the server's credit, he insisted the kitchen remake both dishes. However, we had already finished eating by the time the replacements came out, so it was too little, too late. In my opinion, both dishes should have been removed from the bill given the quality issues. Service was extremely slow from the beginning. We waited almost 20 minutes before the server even came by to check on us. I had read other reviews mentioning poor service here, and unfortunately, it seems there is some truth to that. Interestingly, the server became much more attentive and apologetic only after I told him how disappointed we were with the octopus and oysters. We also witnessed another family leave visibly upset, with someone throwing their receipt at the greeter. I have no idea what happened, but it certainly didn't add much confidence to the experience. Then came the final surprise: a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to the bill, along with a resort fee that had not been disclosed to us upfront. I asked the server why the resort fee wasn't mentioned, and his response was essentially, "Sorry, that's just how it is here." I didn't even know this was part of a resort?! That is poor business practice. If additional fees are going to be added to the bill, they should be clearly disclosed before the customer orders. The grilled branzino was honestly the highlight of the meal and the one dish I would happily order again. Unfortunately, one great dish wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing oysters, octopus, sangria, slow service, and surprise fees. Overall, this was not the dining experience we expected, and I wouldn't rush back.

The restaurant has a small outdoor area on a little veranda, and the indoor area that isn't very big either. The design of the place is simple but pretty. The menu offers a nice variety - from small tapas to large main dishes like paella. I decided to try two hot tapas: ham croquettes and octopus with boiled potatoes. The croquettes were good, but not super delicious. The octopus dish, however, tasted fantastic; I really enjoyed it! Price-wise, the place does seem a bit pricey. For 4 small pieces of Serrano ham croquettes I paid $13, and the octopus was $20. Tapas usually don't cost that much, even at many other restaurants around Miami that I've been to. And considering that the croquettes were just okay in quality, I definitely think they should lower the prices a bit. Another annoying thing about this place - the 18% tip is automatically included in the bill. I truly hate when restaurants in Miami do that! And honestly, in this case, I wouldn't have tipped my waitress that high. She wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. She gave me literally 2 minutes to choose my food (yes, I know I came late, but still...), took my order, brought it, and only came back once she noticed I had finished, just to ask if I was ready for the check. She didn't even ask how the food was. In my opinion, this wasn't 18% tip-worthy service. To sum up: I'm glad I tried this place. I might come back one day to try something else from the menu. I can recommend this restaurant, but be prepared - your final bill won't be cheap.

So after a yelp review of the tapas scene, I landed at Bulla Gastrobar in Coral Gables. A slight drive from the downtown area but proved to be so worth it. Once we arrived we were seated immediately and greeted by our beautiful, friendly and knowledgeable server Melody. After she explained the menu and made recommendations, she offered to course our plates out accordingly so it wouldn't arrive all at once. Five stars to Melody for taking great care of us. Now to the food... We started things off with the pan con tomate with Serrano Ham and manchego cheese. Although this is a staple of tapas dining in Spain I had never tried it and was impressed with the depth of flavor and the different notes that it offered. It was excellent and I highly recommend it. Next was the gambas al ajillo which are broiled shrimp in a garlicky pepper butter sauce. These were also excellent, so much so we ordered another batch, Then we tried the Albondigas which were Pork and beef meatballs, with manchego, tomate sauce. These were good but proved to be our least favorite of everything we tried. Next was the datiles rellenos which were bacon wrapped dates with a small salad. These were very good Lastly we ordered the Serrano ham croquettes which came with a wonderful fig jam. These proved to steal the show. Hands down 5 stars! Because it was happy hour until 7pm, I got a Spanish beer (Mahou) and a wonderful glass of Malbec for $6 each. The total bill for all this before tip was $112 which was well worth it for an extraordinary meal with great variety. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I came for the World Cup final game and it was so packed that I was in disbelief when the hostess found me a small table all the way in the back with unobstructed view of one of the TVs. Anyways, the Serrano ham croquettes are one of their specialties so I don't have to elaborate on that because I'm sure most of you have already tried them. They just melt in your mouth and you end up ordering more, right? RIGHT. The same goes for the Spanish omelette. One of their signature dishes and one they do really well here. Now as far as the cochinillo hash, I had mixed feelings about it. Take the potatoes and poached egg out of the equation, the braised shredded pork was either overcooked or maybe even burned a little. It was super dry and if it weren't for the egg I think I would have not been able to eat even half of it. It had a bitter after taste. Maybe I should've said something but it was too hectic in there to say the least. Perhaps I should've give it another chance. Ended with their famous and arguably one of the most delicious churros in town and it was all washed down with their refreshing red sangria.
