EXTREMELY DISHONEST EXPERIENCE…read more We purchased an engine from this company in good faith after confirming by phone that we were purchasing the engine shown in their listing with approximately 45,000 miles. That is NOT the engine we received. The engine delivered to us was visibly different from the engine pictured and represented to us during the sale. When we contacted them, the conversation only made the situation worse. In my opinion, what occurred was a bait-and-switch: we agreed to purchase one engine based on the listing and phone confirmation, and a different engine was delivered. We then performed a compression test on the engine we received. The results, which I have included in the attached photos, raised serious concerns about the condition of the engine and whether it was consistent with what had been represented to us. I contacted the company within the same week and asked for a replacement engine or to exchange it for what we had actually purchased. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told that their "warranty policy" requires us to INSTALL the questionable engine into a vehicle before they can submit a warranty claim through their third-party warranty provider. Think about that. They want a repair shop to spend the labor and take the risk of installing an engine that has already produced concerning test results just so they can attempt to process a warranty claim. I specifically asked them to provide the written warranty policy requiring this. I was told it was simply "their policy." This is not how a reputable company should handle a customer who immediately reports receiving a product that appears different from what was represented and has documented concerns about its condition. I have recordings of our phone conversations that document what was discussed. Out of respect for the business owner, who still has not contacted me personally, I am not posting links to those recordings at this time. I am posting this review so other repair shops and consumers can make an informed decision before purchasing an engine from this company. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with them. I am also reporting this transaction to Car-Part.com and providing documentation regarding the engine we were sold, the engine we actually received, the test results, and the warranty representations made to us. If the company continues refusing to provide an appropriate resolution, I intend to pursue the matter in Small Claims Court and present the documentation there. A reasonable solution would have been simple: stand behind what was represented, take back the questionable engine, and provide the engine we actually agreed to purchase. Instead, we have spent our time chasing a resolution for a problem that should never have happened in the first place. Repair shops: document everything before buying from this company.

However, I decided to give him a chance and wait to see if maybe he's a few minutes late. When he doesn't appear by 10:30 I call, no answer. I call again at 10:45, once again no answer. At 11:15 I give up and head home. At 12:15 he finally calls back because he just got to the garage and tells me I can come back. I let him know I'm already on my way home and to far to come back. This is a classic example of a great idea run by someone who is to lazy to actually run a business.

She explained that the owner/mechanic would contact me beforehand with an estimate in order to finalize the appointment. Instead, I received no call until the day of my appointment, when I was told they were canceling because my phone number had apparently been written down incorrectly and they were unable to reach me. I immediately explained that my vehicle repair was urgent and that I still wanted to proceed with the inspection. Considering the error was on their end, I should have been accommodated rather than being turned away. I was told they could not accommodate me that day but that they would call me back to schedule me sometime that same week. They never called. I left several voicemails throughout the week and received absolutely no response. I ultimately received an estimate today--after already spending approximately $600 on rental car expenses as a result of this situation. The lack of communication and follow-through is completely unacceptable. I clearly communicated how urgent the repair was, yet my concerns were met with a nonchalant attitude and no meaningful effort to resolve the situation. Their mistake resulted in additional expenses for me, and rather than taking responsibility and making an effort to accommodate me, they simply left me waiting. After speaking with John, I specifically asked to speak directly with the owner, Will, so I could address my concerns. I was not allowed to speak with him. If a customer has a legitimate concern about how their appointment was handled and requests to speak with the owner, refusing to even allow that conversation is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. A business can make mistakes, but how they handle those mistakes says a lot about their professionalism. In this case, there was no accountability, urgency, or consideration for the customer. I should not have been left responsible for hundreds of dollars in additional expenses because of an error made by the business. If you are a single mother, living on a tight budget, or simply don't have extra money to throw away, I would strongly advise you to take your vehicle somewhere else. You should not have to absorb hundreds of dollars in unnecessary expenses because a business failed to communicate and properly manage your appointment. I would not recommend this business. Do not bring your vehicle here if you expect reliable communication, accountability, or basic customer service. If you have a foreign vehicle, I recommend looking into Downey Care Center in Downey instead. Their customer service and communication have been significantly better in my experience. Tesla's response? Blame the driving conditions, even though the tire itself had no damage and it was pretty clear the crack wasn't new. Then they quoted us over $600 for a replacement rim with mounting and balancing. Ouch. Thankfully, Salinas Tire pointed us to 1-800-EveryRim, and I'm glad they did. Ralph was outstanding. Friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in helping us find the right solution instead of the most expensive one. No pressure, no gimmicks--just honest customer service. We were in and out quickly with the exact rim we needed for $250. We took it back to Salinas Tire, had it mounted and balanced for another $40, and were back on the road for about $290 total--less than half of Tesla's quote! It's refreshing to find a company that believes in taking care of customers instead of taking advantage of them. If you need a replacement rim, skip the dealership and call 1-800-EveryRim first. Honest people, fair prices, fast service, and a business that has earned my respect. Highly recommended!
